A uniquely beautiful holiday house in Hungary, home of a German designer, is available for rent. Enjoy your stay in a stylish and very intimate atmosphere of a dream holiday home in northern Hungary, only an hour's drive from the capital. Ideal to combine a Budapest city break with some countryside tranquility.

Golden Linden House is on two levels and offers an extremely comfortable stay for 4-5 people. The spacious upper floor consists of a bedroom with balcony overlooking the hills nearby, shower/WC, alcove and a living room with library and home cinema.

The ground floor features a bedroom with patio, bathroom, living room, professional kitchen and a romantic, sun-drenched conservatory. The 2,500 square meter garden is ideal for reading and barbecuing, or simply doing nothing. There is also a separate summer kitchen. Even when it rains you can cook, grill and eat outside.

Homey and artfully decorated

We had a lovely week in the Golden Linden Country House. The house is very tastefully decorated with antiques and artfully placed organic pieces. The kitchen lacked nothing and some excellent meals were enjoyed there. Day trips to an old village and the site of prehistoric footprints were enjoyed while several nearby restaurants provided our lunch needs. Our host left some very nice welcoming gifts to top off the experience. Thank you Jurgen Henning for your hospitallity.

Achterstallig onderhoud

Het is nog steeds een prachtige woning maar moet beter worden onderhouden. Het is nog verre van de woning die is te bewonderen in het magazine. Tuin is enorm verwilderd. Daardoor is het huis erg vochtig. Kleding wordt nat..kledingkasten zijn er niet. Veel schimmelplekken op de muren, kitranden en tegels. Serviesgoed is bijna allemaal stuk of gelijmd. WC loopt constant door. Stoelen zijn m.u.v. 2 wankel en aan vervanging toe. De huidige staat van de woning staat in geen contrast met woning in de advertentie.

Traumhafter Urlaub auf dem Land

Dank der ausführlichen Wegbeschreibung haben wir das Haus schnell gefunden. Die freundliche Verwalterin hat uns kurz eingewiesen, danach haben wir uns zwei Wochen sehr wohl gefühlt in diesem sehr individuell und kreativ gestalteten Haus. Die Lage am Rand eines kleinen Dorfes inmitten der Natur ist sehr ruhig, auch unsere beiden Hunde haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus bietet alles, was für einen erholsamen Urlaub nötig ist, und die Ausstattung übertrifft alles, was wir bislang in Ferienhäusern angetroffen haben.

Realistische Bewertung vor dem Hintergrund eines angepriesenen LUXUSHAUSES (mit eigenen+vor allem NICHT RETOUCHIERTEN Fotos gerne nachweisbar!) Check-in: Erste Funktionskontrolle ergab 6 nicht funktionierende Glühbirnen, nicht vorbereitetes 2. SZ, Receiver kaputt , ... Eingang+Garten: Schmale Stufen, verrottetes Gattertor! KOMPLETT ZUGEWACHSEN, reinster DSCHUNGEL==>STECHMÜCKENBRUTSTÄTTE! Vor JEDEM Türeingang, vor JEDEM Fenster ==> Myriaden von Stechmücken - draußen sitzen auf den Terassen UNMÖGLICH! Keine Erstausstattung Mückensprays im Haus! Die wenigen Sitzgelegenheiten sind größtenteils ohne Sitzkissen. Sommerküche= überdachter Schuppen! alt, ungepflegt, alter Tisch, kaputter Stuhl, farbabblätternde Sitzbank. EG: Küche: verrostetete, verschmutzte +außer dem Licht nicht funktionierende Abzugshaube, zerschlagenes Geschirr, Töpfe+Pfannen ohne Leiter nicht greifbar, total verkalkter Teekessel, fehlender Dimmerschalter WZ: alte Stereoanlage ohne Funktion Radio, teils leere Flaschen auf Bartisch Bad: viele große SCHIMMELFLECKEN !!! Duschen in der Badewanne an sich nur im Sitzen mgl. , da keine Duschkopfaufhängung. Keine Antirutschmatte, schlechte Beleuchtung 1. OG: Treppenaufgang mit SEHR schmalen Stufen, KEIN Handlauf, Vorsicht bei Senioren und Kleinkindern! WZ: verrissene Sofakissen auf verschmutztem Sofa, verrissener Sofa-Teppich, das angepriesene "HOMECINEMA" mit nicht funktionierendem Receiver. Das am nächsten Tag gebrachte von uns ERBETTELTE Ersatzgerät war von 2007 mit defekter Fernbedienung, Bildqualität schlecht. Alkove: nicht bezogen, unordentlich hingeworfen, Blutflecken auf Kopfkissen 2. Schlafzimmer: nicht vorbereitet, danach mit löchrigem Spannbettlaken bezogen, Balkon zugewachsen und nicht nutzbar. Bad: Dusche mit verschmutztem (Haare, Stockflecken) viel zu eng/schmal angebrachtem dann am Körper klebendem Duschvorhang, schlechte Beleuchtung. Fazit: Dieses Haus incl. dem völlig verwahrslosten Garten würden wir nicht einmal Freunden KOSTENFREI zur Verfügung stellen ohne uns in Grund und Boden zu schämen! Das Haus ist sanierungsbedürftig und alle Geräte sind alt! Es ist kein 5-Sterne-Haus, maximal 3 Sterne; der Besitzer sollte renovieren und investieren, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht! Hr. Henning bei Ankunft zu den Defiziten informiert+direkt evtl. Abreise angedeutet. Seine Antwort O-Ton: Tja , mit einer solchen Einstellung zu den genannten Punkten würde das ja nichts mehr werden - dann reisen Sie wohl besser ab!

Ankommen und Erholen

Wir haben eine schöne Zeit in Ihrem Landhaus verbracht. Man merkt, dass es mit viel Liebe eingerichtet wurde. Unser Lieblingsort war der sonnige Wintergarten. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch das Restaurant im Wellnesshotel im Ort, aber auch in Hatvan konnte man gut essen (Restaurant Grassalkovich). In Hatvan gibt es auch ein schönes Freibad. Budapest muss man unbedingt besichtigen, aber wenn man zurückkommt, kann man sich im Landhaus wunderbar vom Trubel der Metropole erholen.

Tolles Basislager für einen super Ungarnurlaub!

Wir waren im Juli in diesem wunderschönen Quartier - unsere drei Kinder oben und wir Eltern unten. Jeden Morgen haben wir auf der Terrasse direkt vor unserem Schlafzimmer den neuen Tag begrüsst - mit einem Cappuccino aus der tollen Espresso-Maschine. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. In der Küche gibt es alles um selbst zu kochen, das Wohnzimmer ist loungig eingerichtet, die Betten bequem und zur Freude der Kinder gibt's ordentliches WLAN. Immer wieder trifft man sich am großen Esstisch im Wintergarten, um den Tag zu planen oder die Erlebnisse Revue passieren zu lassen. Die freundliche Haushälterin wohnt gleich nebenan - das gibt ein beruhigendes Gefühl. Und als würden wir uns schon lange kennen, gehörte eine kleine schwarze Katze quasi mit zum Haus. Auch der kleine Ort Szirák hat etwas zu bieten. Zwei kleine Supermärkte, eine Post und sogar ein kleines Schloßhotel mit Restaurant, wo wir lecker gegessen haben. Alles ist gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Als Ziele in der näheren und weiteren Umgebung bieten sich an: Hatvan mit vielen Geschäften und großen Supermärkten, Eger mit einem türkischen Bad und einer schönen Fussgängerzone, der See Bánk und natürlich Budapest.

Persönlich, stillvoll und komfortabel.

Besser geht es kaum. Und das nicht nur in Ungarn. Wir haben in vielen Länder Urlaub in Ferienhäusern gemacht, aber dieses Domizil war ohne Frage absolut einmalig. Hier stimmt eigentlich alles. So schön, dass man das Haus kaum verlassen möchte. (Haben wir auch kaum gemacht.) Die Gegend bietet genug Möglichkeiten für Ausflüge und nach Budapest ist es auch nicht weit. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Idylisch, ruhig, pittoresk und ein bisschen verwunschen.

Nettes Ferienhaus in einer ruhigen Umgebung. Szirak liegt ländlich. Die nächst grössere Stadt mit guten Restaurants ist Hatvan.

Well worth the journey

A really lovely house, well equipped with all mod cons. It feels like a home not a holiday rental, and is a great place to kick back and relax - whether lounging in a deckchair in the shady garden, or the fabulous conservatory dining room, or in the cosy sitting room. The place is so laid back, we never even got around to checking out the huge tv upstairs... Marta, who looks after the house is very friendly and helpful, as were the other villagers we met during our stay. Szirak is a nice village and there are good walks to be had all around - be sure to walk up through the churchyard and check out the stunning view from the lavender field at the back. You're half an hour from Holloko (UNESCO historic village) or Gyongos (gateway to the Matra Hills), and a hour's train journey to Budapest, probably a lot quicker by car...). The nicest place we've ever stayed to be honest. Shame it's so far to drive to from the UK, or we'd be there every month!

Wohlfühlatmosphäre

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche in Ungarn verbracht. Das Wetter war schön, das Essen gut un in unserem tollen Ferienhaus haben wir uns von Anfang an zu Hause gefühlt - sehr stilvoll und dekorativ eingerichtet. Wir waren viel unterwegs - aber das Haus liegt auch relativ zentral. Gebirge , Puszta und Seen. Schlösser, Burgen und Städte. Pferdemärkten auf der Straße und den Feldern. Die Zeit läuft langsamer und wir konnten der Alltagshektik entfliehen. Der Ruhepol war aber immer unser Lindenhof.

Wonderful place!

We stayed 3 days in this amazing house and since the first day we were planning when we will return. The house and garden are truly enchanting: they have the charm of an authentic country house with all possible comfort. The house is big and includes many rooms and places to lounge or have a coffee (also in the garden). Every detail is nicely arranged and really charming. From Vienna it took us only 3,5 hours to come. It is also very close to Budapest. It is a dream place for relaxing in the nature (beautiful park also nearby). The house can easily welcome a family (like us) or a group of friends and I can imagine it would be a very romantic place for a couple.

Idealer Erholungsurlaub auf dem Land

Für Urlauber, welche Ruhe und Erholung abseits von Touristentrubel suchen, ist dieses Domizil ideal und absolut zu empfehlen. Die Angaben des Vermieters stimmen mit der Realität überein. In der Vorbereitung des Urlaubes aufkommende Fragen konnten problemlos geklärt werden. Das Haus strahlt eine persönliche Atmosphäre aus. Hervorzuheben sind die Bibliothek, die Musikbibliothek und der Internetzugang.Im Ort gibt es Lebensmittelgeschäfte und knapp 30 km entfernt einen großen Supermarkt. Die Nähe (ca. 30 km) zur Autobahn ermöglicht auch größere Ausflüge.

Super Haus!

Wir waren im letzten Sommer für 2 Wochen da und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Da das Haus nahe bei Budapest liegt, haben wir 2 Wochen auf dem Land und eine Woche in Budapest verbracht. Der Lindenhof ist bestimmt das schönste Ferienhaus in Ungarn! Ganz anders als am Balaton wo die Häuser meistens scheußlich eingerichtet sind. Und überhaupt ist Nordungarn ein wunderschöner Landstrich. Man kann hier viel besichtigen und erleben. Nun da wir einmal da gewesen sind, würden wir gerne wiederkommen. Hier stimmt alles. Man merkt das der Besitzer alles mit viel Liebe arrangiert hat. Das Haus ist wirklich luxuriös und hat alles, was man sich so wünschen kann. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Küche die wirklich alles bietet, was man so braucht. Es gibt nicht nur Salz und Pfeffer wie anderswo, sondern auch so eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Gewürzen, Ölen, Soßen die man einfach so verwenden kann. Und nicht nur für deutsche Küche. Auch asiatische Zutaten sind reichlich vertreten. Man hat wirklich das Gefühl, bei guten Freunden eingeladen zu sein. Normale Ferienhäuser sind ja ganz anders. Hier ist alles so persönlich! Vielleicht ist dieses Haus ja teurer als andere aber das war es uns wert und wir sind nicht enttäuscht worden. Wir kommen gerne wieder wenn wir nach Ungarn reisen.

Absolutely superb

The Golden Linden House rightly deserves the title of the best holiday home I've ever stayed at.Superbly designed yet cozy, specious and full of light, this holiday home is ideal for hedonists seeking the simple pleasures of life-breakfast under the lush linden tree, reading in the afternoon (and perhaps a nap?) on the terrace overlooking the hills, glass of wine on the patio at dusk, barbecue in the back garden in the evening. If you need to stretch your legs, take a stroll to the castle nearby. There are plenty of rainy day options too--you can grab a book or watch TV in the specious TV room/library, or you can find your quiet hideaway in the alcove and doze off. This house is ideal for a party of 4-5 people who want to spend time together, but also need their privacy. My partner and I stayed with another couple for a week in the summer 2010 and enjoyed immensely every moment of it. We will definitively return this summer!

wonderful

my husband and I stayed here the week before christmas and it was wonderful. the house is comfortable, tastefully furnished and has all the amenities that one could want to relax in luxury. I can't wait to go back.
