  • Beautiful Home for a Wonderful Family Gathering

"We gathered at this lovely home with 12 of our family in attendance. There was one baby, two 10 year old and and 9 adults. The home fit us perfectly and we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable or lovely place to stay. Denise is a marvelous owner who cares about her guests and wants to make sure all goes smoothly. She greeted us after we arrived, which was a good thing, so she could explain the heating, where equipment is stored and walked us through the huge kitchen. Make sure you have Denise do this as the kitchen is fully equipped but you need to know where everything is located. We loved the view and the quiet neighborhood. It is a wonderful place to walk but you need to walk up and down hills. The kitchen was the meeting place in the morning and we all enjoyed sharing cooking details. We were able to all sit around the dining room table which was great for our Thanksgiving dinner. The pool table was a hit with our family and there were plenty of games if needed. There is enough equipment for many little ones and we did appreciate having things available for our 6 month old great granddaughter so things did not have to be transported. We are very familiar with this area as we have three Cal Poly grads in our family. So we hit our favorites; the hike up Black Mountain, night tour of Hearst Castle, walking around Morro Bay, downtown SLO, the pier and the downtown walking area in Avala Beach, animals at the farm on the campus of Cal Poly, and the Morro Bay State Park Museum. There is much, much more!! Don't miss Cambria, Pismo Beach, and Montana de Oro. We will try to come again soon. Thanks Denise."

  • Nice house!

"We stayed here for the CalPoly Family weekend, and it was really nice, especially the views! The kitchen had everything we needed, as with the bed rooms. Some of our family members couldn't make it at the last minute, so we had a small group of 4 the first night night, and 3 the other nights, so it was more room than we needed. But it was perfect, since everyone had their own room. Our only complaint was that it was very hot Thursday night, being that we were in a heat wave and there is no air conditioning in the house. But we understanding this is pretty much the norm for properties near the beach. Also, a couple of the mini blinds didn't seem to be working, but it wasn't a big deal. Over all, we had a good stay and would stay here again."

  • A must do adventure!

"My wife and I stayed on Maya for a night for our marriage anniversary. It was a true adventure. Our captain, Terry is an amazing person. He was very patient in explaining about the boat and teaching us how to sail. Our Day started at around 11AM on a Saturday when Terry met us, helped us get our stuff to the boat. Told us about the boat, answered all the questions we had We had a few drinks and relaxed a little bit before we took a Dingy to the secluded Sandspit. We had a picnic, with lunch prepared by the captain, and took a nice and long hike. We headed back to the boat, enjoyed the beautiful sunset, had some drinks and headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner. When we got back, we sat down with Terry spoke a little bit about Yoga, Terry's travel adventures, the boat, what life is like being a sailor, some more tips about sailing. We went to bed around 11PM, had a nice sleep in one of the intimate bedrooms, woke up at around 7AM, enjoyed the sunrise and the tranquil waters, sailed a bit more, had a nice breakfast. The Strawberry Guava juice made by Terry was our favorite. Our adventure ended at around 10AM on Sunday. It was a little sad to say goodbye to leave Maya and our wonderful captain. But I am sure we will be go back smile emoticon I would love to go back and take a trip to the Channel Islands. I recommend getting a taste of Maya to anyone I know. #oneunforgettabletrip #mayaadventures"
