  • Great little house

"We really enjoyed our stay in Lusita. The house bedrooms are not huge, but the living spaces are. The deck is lovely for watching the world go by in Morro Bay. The location is excellent."

  • Great Getaway!

"Our family of five plus 2 dogs had a fabulous stay at the Gull Cottage! The decor was beachy and cozy! We all had our own space, and enjoyed the common areas in comfort. The location in Morro Bay is perfect for whatever activities you plan in the area! We were close to the dog beach, went kayaking, took a day trip to Paso Robles for wine tasting, visited Hearst Castle, the sea elephants, and Cambria. The fire pit allowed us to "camp" out a bit in the evening, and the yard was perfect for the dogs to have some fresh air! We would definitely stay again. Be aware that it is not "on the beach". You have to walk and cross the highway, or drive, but this wasn't an issue for us. Parking near the sand is easy, and free! :)"

  • Love it!

"Even though we never met the owner in person, everything was ready for us to use when moving in. The house is clean, nice, and quite. We were expecting a little bigger but enough room for the kids to run around and enjoyed, so really no complain. We would recommend this house for family no more than 6. It's nice overall! Thank you."

  • Repeat visitor

"We visit Morro Bay at least 1x/year from Tucson for our beach fix. The "Red Door House" has been our favorite rental and go-to for our vacations. Even when our 3 grown kids pop in for a few days during our weekly stay, we always have plenty of room. The view can not be compared, and the long walks either down to the Rock or north to Cayucus, can't be any better. Montana de Oro, walking the sand spit, kayaking, checking out the elephant seals, Hearst Castle, Moonstone Beach, Cambria, shopping at the farmer's market on Thursday nights in SLO, eating at our favorites (Giovanni's and HoffBrau House both in Morro Bay), are just a few of the activities we do over and over. Oh, I almost forgot: watching the whales from the deck, or even inside the house, is great too. The owners make it so easy with the red door house, and it holds a special place in my husband and my hearts."
