Why Richard Greer chose Old Saybrook
Lovely and pristine getaway, in a cherished family home for decades.
What makes this House unique
Our family fell in love with this beach front home because of its extraordinary views as well as the graceful floor plan, that is perfect for both entertaining a large group or cozy and alone. We have enjoyed many summers as well as holidays in this quiet and peaceful setting, relaxing to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach wall.

Couldn't be better!
The house is fantastic, as I said last year. It's so roomy and comfortable and in a perfect location. The best part is the owner, Rich, who is a great guy. He makes sure your stay is wonderful, from the welcoming gifts to his availability should you have any questions at all. When I'm at the Gulls, I feel like I am visiting family. I can't imagine a summer without the Gulls ever again. Thank you so much Rich! You're the man...
Wonderful, spacious home with gorgeous water views!
We had such a wonderful stay in this very spacious, well appointed home. Everything we needed was provided... plenty of bed linens, towels, dishes and cookware, 2 refrigerators. The A/C throughout the house was great. There was plenty of room for privacy as well as spacious common areas for gathering, dining, playing games etc. Several of our group enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio while soaking up the sun and the gorgeous views of the water. The yard was big enough for a family game of soccer. We had a great time at the beach, swimming out to the dock, lying in the sun, playing with the little hermit crabs and collecting tiny sea shells. My husband and son fished from the pier. It was also very convenient to have picnic tables and a port-o-potty right at the beach and plenty of community use sand toys for the kids. We took advantage of the wonderful walking paths along the road/water. We really enjoyed the village of Old Saybrook. We attended a fantastic arts festival on Main Street and enjoyed a few of the restaurants as well. Mystic Seaport was a great day trip attraction. We had an excellent multi-generational family vacation. We hope to stay there again. We highly recommend it!
We gathered at The Gulls to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. There were 9 adults and 2 kiddos and a dog and there was PLENTY of room! We even managed an additional 10 for a family reunion cookout. The living room was comfy and cozy and the decor thoughout the home was charming. The yard was perfect for the dog and kids to run around in and we all ventured out on the deck to enjoy the spectacular view. Nice, quiet, and friendly neighborhood, kitchen was well stocked, and an abundance of towels! The pictures do not show the big kitchen complete with another table that seats six and chairs. Excellent communication with Richard, the owner. We all loved our time there for a very special major event! Highly recommend!
What a beautiful home in a stunning location! The house was extremely clean, and we are clean freaks! It was beyond spacious and overly accommodating! We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely two weeks!! Can’t wait to return!
It was perfect!!!......
We were a group of older, professional women educators who go away at the end of each school year for some r and r. This house was perfect. We had plenty of room for gathering together for laughter and sharing and yet enough space to get apart for quiet time. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals for our group. The bedrooms could sleep 11 comfortably. But it was the location that set this place apart. The view of the ocean was breathtaking!! The large lawn and its many chairs and lounges afforded the opportunity to sit out and enjoy the beauty. And yet we were only five minutes to the village. There are many great restaurants close by when you don't want to cook. All in all, our group can't wait to return.
Spacious accommodations for family gathering
My family just returned from a fantastic stay at this home. Half of us were from NY and the rest from Boston so we decided to meet in the middle for an early summer getaway. The house was quite spacious with more than enough space to eat, sleep, and play. They have everything you need, including all the linens, and towels, and even games! Richard provided everything we needed for the beach, and has a great outdoor space where we ate many of our meals. Hopefully we'll be able to come here again next year!
Historic Old Saybrook where the Connecticut River meets the Long Island Sound is a classic New England sea side community and is well known for its abundance of stately shingled homes and historic districts. Conveniently located between Boston and New York city, Old Saybrook has long been a haven of summer retreat. The historical town center features charming shops and restaurants, several historic churches and most notably The Kate (the Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center) which is famous for its theatrical productions, live music performances, and classic movie showings all year long.
