About this property

Welcome to a completely private retreat with beautiful views & birdsong.

Welcome to peace and quiet with full privacy, minutes away from our local boulangerie.
River and Falls is a cabin and country garden on 12 private acres of native meadow & woodland overlooking the protected Black River with an 60' high seasonal (dry in summer) waterfall. You have complete privacy with only bird song and fire flies for company.
In the heart of Prince Edward County, down the winding private lane, the cabin feels miles away from everywhere. The simple and bespoke details in the cabin feature a 16' long screened in Dining Room, stainless and cherry kitchen countertops, Miele appliances and skylights in every bedroom.

Low impact eco dock and kayak rental on protected wetland of Black River.
River and Falls is registered as a Provincially Significant Landscape, we ask our guests to be gentle with the landscape.

A large 12' x 23' screened in Dining and Living Room has a 10' wood table to seat 8 to enjoy dinner all night long while watching fireflies.

Country butterfly, wildflower, herb and lavender gardens, with a simple outdoor shower.

Hammocks and garden seating overlooking the river with tree swing. The three person hammock under dappled light from mature maple trees, always makes for good conversations.

Destination Inn & bakery are just minutes away.
At the top of our private lane is the Jackson's Fall Inn with restaurant and bar, to save cooking. PECish, the best bakery in the County is only a 3 min drive to Milford. Also very nearby are: Black River Cheese and Vicki's Veggie's organic food market.

Well behaved pets are very welcome with a $25/night cleaning fee and Pet Rules Agreement.

Falls, Forest, Peace & Comfort!

We had an absolutely beautiful time at River & Falls! It’s a gorgeous and tranquil property! Every detail and amenity is thoughtfully considered, incredibly views, and the beautiful sounds of nature, the outdoors. The ability to have different settings, between the waterfall area, creek/river as well as the tree canopy of the entire yard was fantastic!Thank you again!

Great time at River and Falls

My family and I had a great stay at River and Falls. Lovely cottage tucked far enough away from main road for dogs and kids to play. Beautiful property and great location as it’s a short drive to restaurants and cafes. Cottage itself is well maintained with all necessary amenities. Kids enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and swinging on tree swing! Would definitely return. Don’t forget the bug spray!

lovely time in PEC

We had a very nice time at the falls cottage. The place is lovely (very tranquil). Very nice layout; everything is well thought out. We did try Canoeing but it really wasnt for us (lots of reeds and its not hard to get lost!) but you dont really need to do this. The place has a lovely view, a private waterfall and no shortage of many other activities. Also want to note that Brenda was very responsive and helpful during and even after our trip.

Casual and well equipped cottage is set in an idyllic location. Such a treasure! The screened dining area was a lovely area to spend time with our family playing games as well as dining. Location is an easy drive to Sandbanks.

Great space for relaxing getaway

Property set in beautiful, quiet and secluded space. Very clean and organized. Only challenge was the heat - we happened to be there in a week where there was a heatwave and with no AC in the cabin it was a little bit rough. With that the outdoor shower was absolutely amazing too. Overall it’s a space and experience I would recommend.

Amazing property

Acres of land around a cozy cottage. Our dogs loved running around. The waterfall is better than the river- canoeing or kayaking in the river is great but you’ll have to negotiate some tall reeds. Cellphone service is excellent so no Wi-Fi wasn’t an issue.

Great place to rent if you wish to get away for the city or simply disconnect. The place is super functional, the best room for us was the outdoor dining room... used it 3 times a day !
