Notes on accommodation: Smoking only on the terrace. Sorry no pets. No parties of travellers all aged under 25 years. Local Rental License number: 4367/AL Outside: Windmill Hill is a low rise spacious complex, consisting of only 91 units. Set in beautiful landscaped garden the swimming pool with children’s section is positioned alongside the restored windmill and overlooks Albufeira old town and the magnificent coastline. There are plenty of sunbeds and sunshades available around the pool as well as large grassy areas. A snack bar is available during the summer months, there ia a tennis court (equipment available for hire from reception), mini football pitch and plenty of free parking for guests. A computer with internet access is available at reception (1 euros for 15 mins). The apartment is at the end of a small block of only six apartments and has its own private large sunny terrace with BBQ, dining for 6 people and sun loungers. There is also a clothes line and pegs (as well as a clothes maiden inside the apartment which can be used inside or out). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels provided. Guests will need to bring their own beach towels. Electronic safe provided. Maid service twice per week. Other: There is a full size 5th single bed (pull out) and a spare single mattress, the apartment can therefore sleep up to 6 persons. If preferred a 'put you up' bed suitable for a child is available for use in one of the bedrooms.

Upon our arrival we was pointed in the right direction of our apartment!

The apartment was in a lovely position on the complex near to pool and bar!

The apartment so very well equipped with everything you could think of, very spacious , we didn't need air conditioning in the 40 degree heat as the breeze is lovely ! The walk down to the beach was hard work as very steep but overall we would love to go back! Thank you

We had a lovely week. Spacious clean apartment equipped with everything you need for comfort. Nice quiet and relaxing location. Kids really enjoyed the tennis. Hope to return some day.

Nice apartment to stop in

The apartment had everything you would expect and we have stayed in many so on that front you couldn't complain at all and it is not too far from the old town (although a hilly hike back which was ok for me but the olds didn't like that part so just get a taxi as cheap isn't called Windmill Hill for nothing haha) ... Everything worked (TV, kitchen utensils, boiler etc etc) and the check in was easy and instruction from the owners is clear and easy to follow. The only downside I would say is the mattresses..I think toppers are needed as the mattress (or mattresses as my bed was actually 3 mattresses on top of each other??) Were all about 15 yr old and well past their best..the olds also mentioned the mattress wasn't good either ... I think the owner and management company need to sort that out if honest ... Luckily there was a spare foldi

We know some of the mattresses are getting old and ordered new mattresses when we were over at Easter (maybe we should have done this earlier but always seem to find better things to do than go shopping when in Albufeira). These will be delivered at the beginning of June & hopefully this will rectify the problem. Kind regards Chris

Lovely spacious apartment, nice facilities

We really enjoyed our stay here, and found the apartment spacious enough for six adults. The apartment is well equipped for self catering, lots of cups, glasses and crockery. The outdoor terrace was nice and spacious, with plenty of sunshine. Plenty of seating both indoors and out. Sheets and towels provided, although we had a problem as not enough was provided for our guests who arrived later - however a phone call to the management company resolved this.

The complex is also really nice, we were welcomed in the little bar, and enjoyed lovely coffee overlooking Albufeira. A couple of us also braved the pool! Whilst it is a steep walk down to the Old Town and back if you go the most direct route, there are plenty of other gentler routes back up! Taxis are also incredibly cheap, so a good option for getting back with shopping.

We had a lovely stay and would be happy to return.

The lovely town beach with its golden sand is only five minutes walk away. A longer walk along this beach and over the cliff tops will bring you to more secluded coves and beaches. Within a short drive there are numerous other beaches varying from the sandy coves at Sao Rafael to the long stretches of golden sand at Gale, Praia Grande (near Pera) and Falesia.


Windmill Hill is only 35 mins drive from Faro airport, there are many car hire companies to chose from. Taxi's are available at the airport or taxi transfers can be organised by our management company (currently 35 euros each way for up to 4 people, 50 euros for up to 6 people) who can also help organise boat trips and excursions (office 5 minutes walk).


Walking Downhill - Beach and supermarket 5 mins. Old town centre (square & restaurants) 10 mins. Nearest bars & restaurants 2 mins. Marina (boat trips) 10-15 mins. Regular bus services are available. Driving - The lively 'strip' area (shops, bars & discos) 5min drive (taxi 4-5€), approx ½ hour walk or take the tourist train from old town centre. In car - Golf 5-10mins; Water Park 15mins (buses available); Shopping complexes 10-15 mins; Lisbon 2½ hours or direct train from Albufeira station.
