Il Palmento Di Salina is a typical Aeolian private house with a terrace and garden with sea views

I inherited my grandfather’s house 2 years ago and I used to live in for about a year. Then I decided to renew it and rent it out to who would like to taste the real traditional Aeolian house. This house is much more than a holiday house! This is an original family-house, constructed from indigenous building materials; stone, lava, pumice and tufo. The whole house is equipped with traditional furniture, the kitchen decorated with brightly patterned terra-cotta tiles. The house is located in the heart of Malfa, one of the three municipalities on the island of Salina. You have all facilities nearby. Just beyond the corner, you can easily reach the amazing beach of Punta Scario (10 min walking) and the old-little-cozy port and the village public square. On the Ground Floor of the House there's an ancient millstone where they used to make Malvasia (the typical Sweet Wine of Salina). You can visit it and feel the real atmosphere of the peasent life in the island of last Century.

Great Location and Hosts

The location is amazing and the house is a beautiful home typical of the island's style. Please note there are no amenities such shampoo, etc but there is a shop very close by. We did not have beach towels and they kindly brought us some. We would certainly stay there again it was a truly memorable stay. Thank you!

Bellessima esperienza!

Tipica casa eoliana, molto comoda e spaziosa, spazi esterni davvero graziosi, dotata di tutti i comfort necessari. Si trova a pochi passi dalla piazza principale di Malfa e da tutti i servizi, a pochi minuti a piedi dall'affascinante spiaggia dello Scario. Margherita e Francesco sono stati molto gentili e disponibili per qualsiasi cosa. Esperienza assolutamente positiva che ripeteremmo volentieri.

Tutto nella casa di Francesco e Margherita è stato perfetto , la casa è da sogno così come appare nelle foto , adattissima ai bambini e con tanto spazio esterno che ha permesso al nostro cane di scorrazzare e stare da solo durante il giorno senza problemi . La casa è inoltre vicinissima a tutti i servizi, praticamente in centro, e a due passi anche dal bus con cui potrete raggiungere ogni angolo di questa splendida isola. Particolare non da poco : la vista del mare dal giardino è mozzafiato! Consiglio a tutti di affittare deliziosa casa e specialmente alla famiglia! Grazie Margherita e Francesco!

This cosy house was exactly like the description and we loved our stay here. We slept with the doors wide open, made both lunches and dinners at home, picked lemons from the garden and relaxed on the terrace. It is 1 minute walk to the city center and not to noisy at night. Salina and Malfa are magic and a must go. Thanks you Margherita!

Very nice house!

Great house, with big private garden and very nice forniture. Guest can relax on the solarium and the hammok in the garden. We actually loved our stay there. The house is in the centre of Malfa town, but it is out of external view! You can easily reach all town facilities as restaurants, pharmacy, bars, supermarket and shops. Host very nice. We reccomand this place to taste Salina atmosphere!

lovely house with a perfect location in the village of Malfa ; lovely village from where you can visit the island of Salina and the others, and the most wonderful island of the eolian islands if you want to visit them, this is the place to be. We rent the house with my wife and our three children two consecutive years with the same pleasure. My father is native of Salina as well as my mother is American, with Italian roots! Now I live between Salina and Rome - where my girlfriend lives and works - and I work as Sommelier and Headwaiter in Salina Resorts during the summer season. I love wine and food, I like cooking and my friends say I’m also a good cook! I'm a very sociable person and I like working with foreign people and tourists.
