Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Woke up every morning on horse and bird sounds.
This cottage is superb. It's in a beautiful setting and is a home away from home.
The Granary is a truly stunning place to stay. The cottage is lovely inside, very spacious and clean with everything you need for your stay. The setting is gorgeous too and makes you feel like your in the middle of the countryside yet your so close to so many places. The owners are lovely too and even leave a homemade cake for you. I cant recommend this cottage enough.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Thank you for your kind review, it is always so nice when our efforts are appreciated.

Gorgeous cottage in stunning grounds
Stayed here with a few friends over New Years. The cottage is really gorgeous, spacious with great furniture and wonderfully decorated for Christmas. We were planning on doing a good bit of cooking over the holiday so we were delighted to find the kitchen so well equipped. The grounds are really beautiful and I would be more than happy to stay here again. We all had a fabulous time, I'd really recommend this property to anyone. Thanks to Steve and Carol for being so helpful and getting everything ready so beautifully for us.
It was a pleasure to welcome Rachel and her guests to The Granary for New Year. Thank you for your kind review, having our efforts appreciated is always welcome. We would love to have you stay with us again, perhaps another re-union with your University friends.
Kind regards, Steve & Carol
Fabulous retreat in wonderland surroundings
A well equipped family home from home. Shame this was a business trip as I didn't have time to revisit beautiful Newstead Abbey
Steve and Carole were the perfect host and the welcome pack comprising homemade cakes was wonderful. Stephen, I have lost your private email address as I wish to send you a private message, so I would be grateful if you could please email me.
If anyone wants a charming place to stay whilst visiting the busy city of Nottingham and the surrounding beauty, this is the place to come.
A perfect home from home. Highly recommended.
Amazing property and very relaxed atmosphere - couldn't have been better.
The property is spacious and very homely. As it is in the Newstead Abbey estate it is in a truly stunning setting and you feel nicely away from the hussle and bustle of life - fantastic for a holiday.
Stephen and Carole are very relaxed but are on hand if you need anything - couldn't have been more helpful. I fully intend to come back next year. Many thanks.
Thank you Ken, you and your family were great guests and left everything so tidy and clean. Hope to see you again next year for the test match.

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting
We stayed for 3 nights, a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The granary is located in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The owners are next door which is helpful if needed, but completely unobtrusive. Homemade cream cakes on arrival were gratefully received thank you! Bedrooms and bathrooms were a great size and layout. House was spotless on arrival. We will definitely look to visit and stay again soon when we next visit family in the area.
Thank you for your review, so glad you enjoyed your time and we hope to see you again. We try hard to make our guests stay as enjoyable as we can, so always good to have positive feedback.
We are just doing a few upgrades this week to ensure all our guests are happy with the accommodation.
Thank you again,
Steve and Carol

Newstead Abbey Park has a rich history, best known as the ancestral home of the British romantic poet the 6th Lord Byron (1788 - 1824) Described by Lady Caroline Lamb as "mad, bad and dangerous to know".
Originally a monastic house founded by Henry II in about 1163 as an Augustine priory. Allegedly haunted by probably the most famous ghosts in England, The White Lady, and by the malevolent Goblin Monk since the reign of Henry VIII.
