Great studio with everything you need to enjoy a short stay. A super short walk to a very charming town where you can eat, drink and be merry. Loved it!
What a fabulous little cottage! Spotless, peaceful, stocked with anything you might need for a short stay, from crockery to milk in the fridge. I had the pleasure to meet hosts as well, absolute pleasure! Thank you so much, we will return.

A delight to stay in this property. So well appointed and a lovely setting. Really appreciated the starter kit, teas, coffee, milk etc. Helen gave us great recommendations for eating out in the area. Well worth the small drive.Highly recommend.
Had a 3 night stay in this very comfortable studio. Huge comfy bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen (microwave and air fryer for cooking) and all the extras you'll need in the kitchen and bathroom. All in a stunning courtyard setting with absolutely delightful hosts and an abundance of beautiful countryside in all directions.
Thanks for a great stay, accommodation was very well thought out and well equipped. It was in a beautiful village with deli and pub. Great walks around d the local area. Easy checkin and was really clean.
The Studio is a little gem, in a beautiful courtyard setting. Perfectly appointed and imaginatively fitted out with everything you could need. One small thing: it would be helpful if the recyling bags were put out where people can find them.
The studio is lovely, really comfortable and very well equipped. It was central for visiting various parts of the Forest of Dean. The hosts were delightful and helpful. We would certainly want to stay there again if visiting the area.
Last minute decision for a bank holiday break what a find
Weather even allowed us to enjoy the little courtyard and adjoining beautiful garden on arrival
Lovely property, our first visit to the area since 1996. Decent food at the pub and a great area to discover if you can cope with the hills.
We had a comfortable stay and learnt how to use an air fryer. Thanks go to our hosts for making us welcome.

About the host
Hosted by Helen Wilson
My husband, Neil, and I renovated The Cart House and The Studio from derelict buildings in 2010. We loved the location and character of the buildings and walled courtyard. We have spent many happy years living in this beautiful area and are constantly exploring new walks to do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
What makes this property unique
The Studio is located opposite the 12th century church and is a short stroll to St Briavels castle, the village pub and village shop. You have a pretty, well furnished patio in front of the studio overlooking the courtyard garden and water feature where you can relax and enjoy a bbq. We have made every effort to equip the studio with everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing weekend
