We really enjoyed our stay. Loved having direct access to the lagoon for paddle boarding and fishing. Easy walk to the beach. Home was very clean and comfortable and we loved spending time on the back deck in the early mornings and evenings. *while it did not impact our enjoyment of the property, it is clear that it’s been a while since the home has had a refresh. The kitchen and appliances could use updating but were functional. The mattress in the primary bedroom needs replacing - it is not level and slopes down on the left side. My husband had to move to the middle of the bed to make sure he didn’t roll off. Overall, our stay was lovely and our family enjoyed our visit. The host was very responsive to questions and emails. Check in and check out processes were straightforward.

Our family of 6, children age 16,14,11,7 enjoyed our stay at Mama House. We found the house was spacious for our family and enjoyed fishing from the HOA dock and the very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed the front and back porch and the quiet breeze in the early morning and evenings on the canal.Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and the house roomy. Kitchen has basic things to cook. We used their beach chairs but brought our own wagon and rented an umbrella. Bring all cooking and food needs, salt and pepper is about it in the kitchen. Not a problem but sharing cause helpful for planning purposes. We enjoyed our stay in gulf shores, spent our days at the beach and enjoyed dinner out and a few local music venues. Great vacation, just what our family needed.

We absolutely loved our stay! It was perfect and Paul was so kind and a wonderful and an attentive host. He made us feel like we were family.Next time we come back to Gulf Shores, I will be hopeful to stay here. It was great for our family of 6!

Beach therapy

The property was amazing! We will definitely try to stay there in the future. It is has fantastic view of the lagoon and is in easy walking distance of the beach. We all enjoyed some badly needed beach therapy.

Home away from home

My family felt at home and very welcome during our vacation stay. My kids are already making plans for another trip. Beds very comfy and clean. Homeowners very friendly and easy to work with. We highly recommend this beach home.

Beautiful!

The house was beautiful! The view was beautiful! The location was the best! The boys got to fish right out the back door and the beach was just a short walk away. The house was equipped with everything we needed. The week just seemed to go by to fast!

Mama’s House

Although this house is not beach front it is just a short walk across from the beach. The house had plenty of room for our family vacation without everyone feeling crammed. It had everything we needed in the house also beach chairs/umbrella and boogie boards for the kids which was nice. The lagoon out back gives a nice view to watch the sunrise/sunset. We would definitely stay at Mamas house again!

Great location but

The house itself is great but the smoke smell is absolutely awful. It was overpowering when you walk in. The location and the house were great though. The view of the lagoon is wonderful. If they could get rid of the smoke smell we would absolutely stay here again and again!

This is a non smoking unit. Unfortunately the guest before you broke house rules agreed to in the rental agreement and smoked in the house. We had professional smoke remediation preformed before your arrival and those present could no longer detect a smoke smell. There is very little time between guests for cleaning and this added service. Im very sorry about this and hope we can make it up to you. This is the first time we’ve ever had someone blatantly disregard our house rules, hopefully will be the last.

Stay was good. Needs a few repairs done to make sure the shutters stay attached and also look into adding another a/c unit for the upstairs. It is 7 to 8 degrees warmer up there than on the lower level

A Perfect Stay at Mama’s House by the LagoonOur stay at Mama’s House was nothing short of delightful. Nestled by the lagoon, the home offered breathtaking sunset views right from the deck, a serene backdrop for our evenings.The house was impeccably clean and well-maintained, reflecting the care put into every detail. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including a wagon stocked with beach chairs and boogie boards, making our beach outings effortless. The china hutch was a treasure trove for game night, stocked with everything we needed for fun-filled evenings.The kitchen was well equipped, and the home provided all the necessities we could ask for. One small tip for future guests: consider bringing a blow dryer, as one wasn't available during our stay.The warm, inviting atmosphere truly made it feel like a home away from home. Mama’s House is a gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Good value, great location

To start - we booked this house based on it being a good value. For the week, & the timing (during Hang out fest) you could not beat the price. Location is also fantastic. At the quiet end of a cul-de-sac across the street from the beach. No complaints on either of these merits. As others have said - this is an older home so you should set expectations accordingly. It is quite obvious that the former full time owner was a smoker so if that is a bid deal for you - be aware. House is stocked with all the necessary things to cook, etc. & has a nice outdoor grill on a deck overlooking the bay. Only real issue is that home has one AC unit so it got unbearably hot in the upstairs bedrooms.

We are replacing the entire central air conditioning/heating system and will be ready and blowing cold air downstairs AND upstairs by spring 2018!! This is a "no smoking allowed" unit and has been since we've owned it. We have had professional cleaning and smoke remediation done. We will be painting the interior this year and am sure that will remove any lingering smoke smell. I hope you will visit us again this year as I'm sure you'll be blown away with the updates! Little Lagoon stay

The house was in a perfect location and cute but needs some improvements. The ice maker didn’t work which is quite inconvenient for a beach stay. The beds were a little comfortable but we loved the open floor plan and the master suite in the main floor. They had extra beach chairs and a wagon which is great to have. The house has a nice backyard for games by the water but there is no direct access to the water. The community does have a pier and its boat ramp which is great to have right next to the house. The upstairs area was hard to keep cool so maybe a window AC unit would help but the kids loved being upstairs. There was only tv in the master and not in the other bedrooms which was also not ideal but we made it work. The kitchen was stocked with most things we needed and the laundry room was huge and a great place to store all of our beach stuff. The living room furniture was comfortable and plenty of space. Overall, a great vacation for us and we really enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again.

Family friendly

House was exactly as described. We had a family of 5 here and had plenty of room and plenty of parking space. The views on the Lagoon were beautiful. The only thing to consider is the steps. My elderly parents went and had some difficulty with all the steps. A lift would be beneficial. Other than that, the house us perfect.

Spectacular Vacation

"Momma's House" is gorgeous, spacious, well-maintained, and has a great deck with frontage right on Little Lagoon. That deck is the perfect place for morning coffee and after-dinner relaxing. We always stay in that immediate area, but this was the first time with a large group. I was worried about space, that we might be climbing all over each other. Momma's house has more than enough room for many more people.
