About Vacasa of San Diego County

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Loved this little bungalow in a great location! A bit noisy but nothing a white noise machine doesn’t take care of!! Perfect fenced yard for the pup and lounging!

Do Not Stay Here - You Can Find a Better Place and Company

 • 1 of 5

My wife and I have stayed in vacation rentals in the Cardiff/Encinitas area probably 10 times in the last 8 years. This is by far the worst experience we've ever had. As soon as we unlocked the door we noticed that the couch and seat cushions were completely disgusting. Covered in stains and still dirty from the last guests. Given this, there was nowhere to sit in the entire unit - basically we could either sit in the main area on a beach towel on the floor, or lay in bed. So the place was basically unusable in the sense of sitting down and relaxing, which was the main thing we planned to do after road-tripping 20 hours to get there.
I was calling Vacasa's customer service team within 10 minutes of opening the door... and remained on hold for over half an hour. In this time, I had also reached out to the property manager who took a couple hours to get back to us. The best luck I had was reaching out to Vacasa through direct message on twitter - which was useless because they can't make any decisions or help without getting in touch with the local property manager. The entire first 2 days of our stay we sat on the floor, and on the 2nd day we were asked to leave the place for 90 minutes so the cushions could be cleaned... after 90 minutes I texted the PM to see if we could head back and he said the cleaners hadn't even arrived yet. So, we ended up being kicked out of our place for over 4 hours on the 2nd day.
I asked Vacasa to understand our situation - having spent a lot of money on this place and to feel like we couldn't even sit down for the first 2 days, not to mention not being able to be there for a good chunk of time. I asked them to refund us for 2 days of the stay... which seemed reasonable to me as my wife and I were sitting on a beach towel. They refused, and said the most they were willing to do was refund our cleaning fee... a very small percentage of what the 2 days actually cost us. It was insulting on every level. I spoke with multiple members of their team who absolutely hid behind stock customer service scripts. No one ever once tried to understand from human to human how this wasn't enough or just. It felt like they knew they had my money, and they weren't letting go of it... even if they knew deep down it wasn't fair.
All in all - it was the exact opposite of how you'd want a company like this to handle a tough situation. I'd recommend you look elsewhere for your stay. We've found great, affordable places in Cardiff and Solana Beach in the past and I'm sure you can too. Just don't stay here.

Very Nice Location

 • 4 of 5

Very nice location. I was surprised that basic staples were not available in the house. Had to buy salt and pepper, olive oil, and garbage bags. There were only two garbage bags in the house. Neighbors are great.

The place was relatively clean, but not spotless (grill was not clean and there was some dust in the rafters). About a 10 minute walk to downtown Encinitas, Moonlight Beach is closer. Wifi is excellent. Very nice spot. Would have given it 5 stars if they paid attention to the details.

Lovely small apartment in a beach community.

 • 5 of 5

I would recommend this property. It was great for our two small dogs & our baby. We desperately needed some time out of LA during a heat wave. The location was excellent within walking distance to the beach & walking distance to shops & restaurants. The bed was comfortable & there was enough room for a travel crib in the bedroom. I enjoyed relaxing in the backyard. We had brought our own, but I loved that they provided beach chairs. The apartment was on the small side, so I wouldn’t recommend it for much more than a couple & maybe one kid. Quick drive into downtown San Diego. (30 minutes during rush hour)

Definitely would stay here again!

 • 4 of 5

We very much liked the location because we could easily walk to the beach, coffee, ice cream and all the town's restaurants. TVs worked perfectly and we were able to watch the World Cup. All the windows open to allow plenty of breeze. It's partly adjacent to an auto repair shop but that was not an issue whatsoever. Small but handy kitchen, nice yard where we picnicked after using the BBQ. Small bath and being on the top floor, it does get warm in the late afternoon through evening. You will hear trains, but they become part of the rhythm of the town.

Sweet Spot Near Surf & Sand

We so enjoyed our brief stay in Encinitas. The condo had everything we needed, and the location by shops, eateries and the ocean just made it ideal for our family to walk and enjoy our quaint beach town getaway.
