My husband and I and my 2 sisters stayed at Villa July for 6 days. I honestly think that staying here for an extended period of time was not the greatest. Maybe for 2 or 3 nights it would have been nice, but for that long, it was really small for us, and not the cleanest.
Cons:
There was a third bedroom off the terrace that smelled bad all the time, and had ants, so no one wanted to sleep in there.
There wasn't enough sitting space to hangout (only small couch for 2 people and 4 dining room chairs).
We had a rat visitor that would come out on the terrace while we were eating at night, although he never cleaned up food scraps on the table, so i feel like he was slightly domesticated looking for handouts.
The shower is on the ceiling of the bathroom, so the whole bathroom turns into a shower, it's weird.
The wifi stopped working when we still had 2 more days to use it, so that was unfortunate.
The seagulls are terrible! They made all kinds of noises 24/7 so we rarely got sleep. We had to keep the windows closed, which might be really bad when it's warm out, but wasn't that bad for us since it was fairly cool.
The shower backed up and took forever to drain.
The woman that checked us in couldn't speak any English at all.
There's a long walk from the main road to the apartment, and it is 10-15 mins to the main town of Capri (uphill) and to Marina Piccola to the beaches.
Pros
The views are breathtaking. Like, you wouldn't get any other views from any other part of the island like you got from this apartment and walking path to the apartment.
The host was very accommodating to some issues we had.
We asked for a cleaning halfway through our stay, and it was a very thorough cleaning and easy to schedule.
The walk to and from the towns are amazing, so many flowers and beautiful houses.
The wifi worked really well compared to the wifi in the rest of Italy.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed utensils, pots, pans, etc.
Not too many stairs to get to the apartment, but hills, not the greatest if you have a lot of luggage, but better than stairs, pack light!
This will be good for people who want to be secluded and get a taste of the non-touristy areas. We would have preferred a more inhabited area. the seagulls were just so terrible though, I'll never see them the same way again. I also gained a ton of muscle in my thighs and butt from walking up and down hill so frequently, so be ready for that!
