About this property

Spacious, Relaxing, Simplified Living With The Best Screened Porch Of All!

**This is a SATURDAY TO SATURDAY RENTAL. This is a change. **

Thousand Island Park is a magical place located on Wellesley Island between Ontario and the NY mainland in the beautiful Saint Lawrence River. Step off the grid and transport yourself to our happy, comfortable cottage.

Wraparound screen porch, 5 bedrooms (one is downstairs), two full baths (one is downstairs), fully equipped cook’s kitchen with gas cooking, gas grill, washer/dryer, BIG yard, driveway parking for 2 cars. Maximum occupancy = 10 humans of any age. Sorry, absolutely no pets.

Upstairs bedrooms consist of 2 kings (One king room has its own screened sleeping/sitting porch), and 2 queens. Downstairs bedroom is a queen bed. There are two porch beds for delicious screened porch sleeping.

Modern amenities in a house built in 1894. But not too modernized!

The house is loaded with jigsaw puzzles and games. Cable & high-speed dual band Wifi included. The dining room table comfortably seats 8 - 10 people. There is also a table that seats 6+ people on the porch and a kitchen table that seats 6. This home is well-loved and well-maintained and not your typical rental. Tree swing, clothesline, and slapping screen doors make the transformation to simpler times complete.

We are John and Susan Andersen. We live full-time on Wellesley Island. We have 3 adult children and three grandchilden, a cat and a turtle. Feeding Dudley the turtle daily is a highpoint for all our previous guests. 🐢

Why they chose this property

Our hearts are in this property. John's family has been in T.I.Park since 1931. His grandparents bought “Andersen I” on Union Av and our oldest kids are taking that one over. Our house was lovingly maintained by the Shiro family for about 30 years before we purchased it in 2010.

What makes this property unique

We love imagining the history of the house. Most of the windows and doors are original, as are the wide-plank floors. This is one of the few houses in the community that has year-round living, with its own artesian well, insulation, and propane heat. During the summer season, the house is connected to county water and sewer.
