A great location for a quiet get together for families couples. Very clean and comfortable!
We will spend time there again.
The property is on Reeder Lake. The lake has no fish to speak of, however the home owners supply kayaks, a canoe and a water bike for recreation as well as life jackets. The only recommendation we would make is better signage at the driveway entrance. We had a wonderful time!
We had a wonderful time at the Reeder Lake house. Heidi left easy instructions and was responsive when we had questions. The house was clean, roomy, and had a lot of towels and linens. We had so much fun at the lake canoeing, kayaking, and water biking. Location was perfect-close enough to town and fishing and yet quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Fish processing with the hosts was so convenient! We’d definitely stay here again!
Great Property and location if fishing for Halibut out of Ninilchik or Homer and also fishing the Kenai for Salmon.
Plenty of space and the waterbike and kayaks were a big hit for the two boys that were with us. We didn't spend much time at the house, but it was a great base to work from as we took advantage of the fishing in the area. Plenty of moose in the area with moose tracks in the yard.
We had a great 3 day stay at this house! There were moose in our yard a few times! Moose close by when we went driving. The house was very clean inside and had everything we needed. Just make sure to bring a lot of bug spray. We visited mid June and the mosquitoes were horrible. Otherwise, we had an awesome time!

Thank you Gayle for staying with us. I have to agree with you that the mosquitoes are terrible this summer. I think this has been the worst year I’ve experienced in my 20+ years here! I’m hoping they go away soon!!!
Excellent communication with owner. Easy keypad entrance. Yummy brownies to welcome us! Lots of room for everyone. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. The lake toys were awesome; however, wish there was a swim ladder. We spent a lot of time on the deck and playing games in the yard.
We could not figure out how to get the AC to work and there is only one fan in the house (80+ degrees during our stay). Would’ve loved screen doors. Not enough trash bins outside (we were not allowed to burn any paper goods since there was a burn ban in place, hence, the overflowing trash).
Definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to make awesome memories with friends and family.
Loved the location. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay if you wanted to fish or hunt. Great location to access fishing or hunting. Close to everything to do and see for this area.
This house was a great location for doing activities all over the peninsula and having a cozy home base where we could return at night. Our hosts were very accessible and accommodating. The lake was fun for kayaking and fishing and having family time.
I am a solo mom with three teenagers so having a safe place to land and a host to communicate with made such a big trip way easier! I would recommend this house to anyone.
Loved the Reeder house! Perfect for our family. Kids loved the water toys by the pond. Heidi's cookies were delicious. She answered all my questions quickly either by phone, text, or VRBO. Great location for fishing, hiking, or just relaxing! Can not wait to come back to Alaska!
The home was very clean, it had all of the kitchen and bathroom amenities. The owners checked in to see if we had questions. They offered suggestion for fishing trip, other sights, and other events in the area. When we come back we will be booking the same place.
This is beautifully updated home that had everything we needed. Our group of 7 had plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms, being pet friendly, and having equipment to use on the lake were nice bonuses. If the opportunity arises, we would love to stay here again.
We loved staying at the Reeder Lake House. We were there to fish for Halibut out of Ninilchek. It was the perfect location and secluded. We had fun with the water bike out on the lake. The home worked perfect for our group of eight and was well stocked with cooking implements. The best part was our host Heidi. She was very attentive to any needs we had and processed our catch and froze it for our return. Highly recommend!
This is one of the best properties we have stayed at. It is very well equipped and maintained - it had everything we needed for a week of enjoyment and the layout was great.. We spent a lot of time on the porch or around the fire pit. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area. The host was excellent and communication was great.
Check in your as very smooth, the property was exactly what we expected as well. We cooked all our meals and were surprised at such a well stocked kitchen. The next time we go on a halibut charter we would definitely consider staying at this place again.
Our family of six (including 4 kids ages 16-6) stayed here for one of the best weeks of our lives. A little more than an hour to Homer and also to Cooper’s Landing—great fishing at both spots. Awesome recreation at the lake with water bike, canoe, stand up paddle board (life jackets provided). We saw moose every day of the trip through the cabin windows, but no bears. Buy groceries in Soldotna or Kenai. Heidi was super responsive and an absolutely wonderful host. If we’re getting lucky enough to return to Alaska, we’ll be back here for sure!
This house was amazing and really accommodated our large family. Heidi was wonderful and super helpful. We also got some of her freshly baked brownies which was a bonus! The weather was rainy so we didn’t get to enjoy the lake much but still a beautiful sight. We would definitely rent this place again!!
Wonderful place to stay! Heidi was very accommodating. We caught some Halibut, and she packaged it up for us at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place.
