About Kathy Siebe
Scott and Kathy have lived and worked in Wallowa County since 1981 and have raised three great kids here. We enjoy sharing the wonders of this area with family and friends and having a vacation rental is a great way to bring people into this beautiful area. This is our second offering on VRBO. Our first house, The Wild Iris House, in Joseph has been great fun so we decided to offer this house as well.
Kathy Siebe purchased this House in 2011
Why Kathy Siebe chose Enterprise
We discovered this sad, rundown house in 2011 and loved the potential that it had. It was built in the 1920's and we even found old newspapers in the walls. We renovated it over 2 years time and completely replaced the wiring, plumbing, sheetrock and renovated the yard. We truly can say that this is a new "old" house.
What makes this House unique
Bungolows have a charm all of their own. This house has wonderful city mountain views and is walking distance to downtown Enterprise. The large yard fenced yard is meant for letting the kids run around, or just hanging out with friends. You may sit out on the front porch and just watch the people go by. The house is located near the Wallowa County Fairgrounds and would be great for Enterprise festivals such as The Old car show in June, The Juniper Jam in September, and Mule Days.
Another lovely stay in Enterprise
Our family (2 adults, 2 children; 11 and 14 years) were back for the 3rd consecutive year in this property. It was as nice as always. Kathy is very easy to communicate with, very timely replies to questions over the VRBO site. The house as cute and clean as always. It truly feels like a home away from home. Everything you can possibly need is available in the house. We will be back!
Great for little kids: Clean, spacious and well appointed
This home is ideal for a family with little kids. It was incredibly clean, with all the cleaning supplies available (important, as kids definitely make messes) and a washer and dryer (which we didn't use, but certainly would for a longer stay). The floor plan is open and convenient for cooking and watching kids at the same time--the little nook off the kitchen was a perfect place for our little ones to be while we were preparing meals. Almost every outlet in the house has been fitted with a tamper resistant receptacle and a pack-and-play was provided. There is a fun little storage area off the stairs that is set up to be a kids' hideout; my three year old adored her "little room" and dragged all her toys with small parts there, as her baby brother couldn't get to them there.
The tub doesn't have a detachable shower for spraying the kids down, but it was sparkling clean and they provide slip resistant mats. The beds were soft with excellent linens. The kitchen has almost every single cooking tool or appliance you could possibly need, as well as a pretty well stocked pantry (lots of spices, sugar, Pam, pancake mix, etc). The knives were a little dull and don't seem the kind you can sharpen, and a second cutting board would be nice, but everything else was in great condition. The BBQ outside is very large and worked wonderfully.
The yard was really our favorite part: the lush grass, fragrant flowers and secure fence (if you are looking on Google maps at the property, it shows the property before the fence was put up). A warning, there are sharp ends of nails all along the inside of the fence, so warn your little ones not to lean against it. There's so much room in the yard for running and playing, though, it wasn't ever an issue for us.
The only thing that would have improved this experience for us would have been if we'd brought a temporary baby gate to put at the bottom of the stairs, as my 14 month old is a fast little guy and would be half way up the stairs before grandma or I caught him. Of course, the owners probably couldn't provide one due to liability issues, so consider bringing your own if you have an adventurous toddler.
Comfortable house in great hiking country
We spent a few days in Enterprise exploring the area and hiking in the amazing Eagle Cap Wilderness. The house was very comfortable with all the amenities you would need to relax. Plenty of space and facilities in the kitchen. The lounge was spacious and the bedrooms were clean and comfy. It was great having the washer and dryer too. Enterprise has a Safeway and some decent restaurants. You can walk to Range Rider and La Laguna quite easily. We were also told the local bakery is very good but didn’t make it there. We did go to Terminal Gravity, the excellent local brewery with an offshoot in Joseph as well now. The house was the perfect place to relax and unwind, peaceful and comfortable. And with good facilities and fantastic hiking on your doorstep, we were extremely happy!
lovely house, great kitchen
perfect place for friends to stay while visiting.
Loved it! Would definitely stay again. Could use a few more supplies- vacuum cleaner, more towels, detergent etc. Overall I would give it 5 stars!
Comfortable and clean.
