  • Union Loft

"A friend and I stayed in the loft for three nights. It was well stocked and comfortably furnished (comfortable beds! Always a plus) and provided a great base for exploring the area for bird watching, hiking and driving back roads. The loft is within walking distance of restaurants (try the LG Brewskis Pub) the Union Museum (a great museum!), and the Union Hotel. Dave and Mindy were wonderful hosts and provided lots of information on things to see and do. I am a bird watcher, so they suggested we might try the Union Cemetery for owls, and one evening we found 3 juvenile and 1 adult Great Horned Owls lounging around the tombstones. The Ladd Marsh Refuge was great for bird watching, and nine miles away the somewhat funky Cove Mineral Pool was a fun visit. Thanks to Dave and Mindy for helping make the visit so enjoyable - I'll be back!"

  • Peaceful

"The house sits on the side of a foothill of the Wallowa Mountains with Catherine Creek running at the bottom. Union is a quaint town about 6 miles away. There are no visible structures from this house -- you are both remote and not too far from civilization if you forgot something. The house does not have Wi-Fi, but the LTE coverage through Verizon is available, very good, and consistent on the property. The interior is mostly in fine wood. The owners have taken great care to build a functional and comfortable home. I was there with my family of 6 and there was plenty of room. This is a wonderful place to get away from things and relax. I wanted peace and quite and that's what I got. We sat by the fire, watched movies, played games, watched the deer and hiked the Catherine Creek State Park. The kitchen was well suited for preparation of our Thanksgiving day feast. The price is very reasonable for the fine quality of home, open space and fresh air. Thanks for sharing this home with us."

  • Loved our stay and experience...

"Serene location, beautiful house wonderful noncity experience. Would definitely visit again for an extended stay. Stable WiFi would have made few family members who remotely worked from there even merrier. Plum trees around bearing delicious fruits complimented our meal and kept kids busy. Overall, loved our stay and experience. Thanks, Chitra"

  • Very nice

"We enjoyed the property very much. It was well stocked and very comfortable. I would suggest more outside lighting especially the stairs. I actually fell coming back at night."
