Faial is a very quiet and relaxing place to stay.
There are 2 very good Restaurants just 5 minutes by car from Villa Mata:

- Tea House of Faial
Also the Restaurant at the beach is very nice!
Smoking is only allowed in the Garden!

Fantastic traditional house

Really loved this property.....the traditional house was fantastic and very well presented, clearly a lot has been spent on maintaining it and it really shows. The separate bbq kitchen is just delightful and would be really great for a large group. The pool area is clean and well maintained. The area itself is quiet and very relaxing. Great place, will definitely be back!

Perfect spot

We booked our stay for 5 nights, as soon as we arrived we knew we didn’t book it for long enough! The house was super cute, very clean, we loved all the space! The outdoor area was perfect for relaxing and hanging out. Loved the bbq room. Loved the pool, loved the house, loved our view! We wanted to explore as much of Madeira as we could in the short amount of time we had and the location of this house made it easy! Thank you for sharing your amazing property with us! Faial gem

We just loved Vila Matta. Great views overlooking the sea and village views, well equipped kitchen and the private pool. A great place to base ourselves to see the island. Twenty minute drive to the airport which was good for us arriving late. Large supermarket in Santana 3kms away. All communications with the property manager were extremely easy. Would recommend to friends and family.

Nicht nur ein Ferienhaus, sondern ein Anwesen, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Egal ob Wanderungen, einkaufen oder einfach nur am Abend nett essen gehen: passt! Das Haus ist mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet - der Besitzer ist wahrscheinlich Telefonfan ;-) Das Highlight, die Sommerküche mit offenem Grill, großer Tafel und guter technischer Ausstattung. Der Pool, einfach großartig, auch wenn wir ihn wetterbedingt nur vier bis fünfmal nutzen konnten (wer ahnt denn, dass es im August immer wieder heftig regnet und teilweise nur 16 Grad (Celsius) warm ist...).Besonders die Unterstützung bei unserer Ankunft wollen wir hervorheben. Da unsere Flüge Verspätung hatten und wir auf den letzten Flug des Tages nach Madeira umgebucht wurden (Ankunft 0:10) - wurden um 1:30 freundlich empfangen und uns der Schlüssel übergeben: ein herzliches Dankeschön dafür, das war keine Selbstverständlichkeit!

La maison parfaite pour s'installer à Madeira

Chaque année depuis une quinzaine d'années nous sommes à Madeira de la mi-décembre à la mi-janvier. Ce fut notre première fois à Vila Matta. En repartant, on s'est dit : si on venait vivre à Madeira, cette demeure serait parfaite. Il y a la maison de pierre habilement restaurée, avec trois chambres, dont deux à l'étage qui ont un parquet de bois lumineux, chaque chambre a sa salle d'eau (les lits ont des matelas fermes parfaits pour les dos fragiles). À part de la maison, il y a une grande pièce avec baies vitrées, lumineuse, offrant une vue sur l'océan et sur le jardin et la piscine. Cette pièce a été notre lieu de vie pour le petit déjeuner et pour les moments de lecture ou de travail, elle dispose de tout ce qui est nécessaire pour cuisiner et manger (le rez-de-chaussée de la maison est sombre, du fait des fenêtres étroites du bâtiment ancien, en été elle doit être fraîche et agréable). La place pour la voiture est vaste et sur un plan horizontal, facile pour se garer. Le charme de l'ensemble réside dans ses nombreux points de vue selon l'endroit où on se tient, avec l'océan, les montagnes, le village. Pas de bruits ennuyeux de l'extérieur, le chant de quelques coqs et les heures du clocher sont un agrément de vie rurale. Son emplacement proche de la 4 voies, qu'on n'entend pas, est pratique. Les personnes de l'agence et le propriétaire ont été parfaits, précis et attentionnés (un radiateur de plus a aussitôt été apporté comme il faisait froid).

Hochzeitsreise

Wir haben einen wundervollen Urlaub genossen. Villa Matta hat eine super Lage mit traumhaften Blick auf das Meer inklusive Sonnenaufgang. Die Villa war genauso wie in der Beschreibung und auf den Bildern. Frau Matta ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir würden wiederkommen. Danke schön :) PS: einen kleinen Ratschlag. Ein richtiger Wäscheständer wäre toll. Für mehr als 2 Gäste wären die beiden kurzen Leinen zu wenig.
