I live in the Napa Valley in California and the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon.
Carol purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1994
Why Carol chose Medford
This property is perfect for a quiet getaway. Surrounded by 19 acres of forestland, hot tub, BBQ, decks galore. I love the cultural events that occur all year long in Jacksonville, Ashland and Medford.

Great for families!
Wonderful home for sharing special occasions or family get-togethers. We had four generations under this roof. Plenty of space on three levels to have separation, and the gathering areas are large and accessible. The kitchen layout allows for good flow and the dining room table is extra large. The solarium style windows in the dining area make you feel like you are sitting outside. There are lots of stairs that could be challenging for those with physical disabilities. In the large living room, there is a TV with Netflix and a DVD player to help keep the little ones entertained.
Unfortunately, we visited during a time of wildfires in the surrounding mountains. It was smokey outdoors and we ended up staying indoors a lot. We watched several birds, deer, and wild turkeys roam the woods.
We highly recommend this comfortable home for anyone visiting Medford, Jacksonville, or Ashland. We definitely would stay again.
Thank you, Carol for sharing your home with us!
Luxury getaway for tranquility
Carol's home feels like you just stepped in and she just left. The home has so many details to attention that make you feel like you're in your favorite aunt's woodsy getaway. From the hot tub in the forest setting to the lovely interior decor, it all is so welcoming and relaxing. We had our 3 generations of family relax here for a graduation and we kept bringing in our food instead of going out - it was so inviting! Thank you, Carol. We will be back soon!
Wonderfully secluded yet accessible to many venues!
A great place for four long-time friends to spend time together and still each have their own private space. We had great fun both staying in and venturing out to wineries, restaurants, music venues, hiking, and shopping. It was also spotlessly maintained.k Have already recommended it to others and surely hope to return!! Thanks, Carol.
Everything about the stay was perfect - it was truly my idea of a vacation-huge comfy home, beautiful wooded surroundings, very clean. Especially enjoyed large deck & hot tub. Would certainly stay again.
Two thumbs up!
Carol's cabin in the woods was a fabulous experience for our whole family. She is a kind and generous hostess, and I had the privilege of meeting her when we arrived a bit early for check-in. It is close enough to Medford and Ashland to shop or put some drama in your life, and even shorter to historic Jacksonville to get an "old western" feel, but just far enough away from those destinations to give you the impression that you are in the wilderness. When you pull into the gravel driveway and step out of the car, you can hear and see a creek below. You could also easily take a day trip to Crater Lake or the coast. The skylights and many windows made me feel as though I was camping, but my wife had all the conveniences of a modern kitchen, hot showers, and all the comforts of home, but perhaps more- since we don't have our own Jacuzzi. When we told Carol that we celebrate the Christmas holiday, she went out of her way to decorate the home for a festive occasion. My mother, who lives at the Rogue Valley Manor, celebrated her 100th birthday at the cabin, and claimed it was "the best party she's ever been to in her life," and I know the setting had a lot to do with it. We had our three daughters and their husbands with us, and we each had our own private bedrooms. Cost-wise, it was less than each of us staying in a moderately-priced hotel. We all loved it, and it is aptly named "Enchantment"; since we all had a great experience, perhaps I should say, "eight thumbs up!"
This location is 7 miles south of Jacksonville home of the Britt Theater and 12 mines north of Ashland, home of the Shakespeare Festivals and Elizabethan Theater. Many Wineries in the area.
