About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Lake Front That Is A Wonderful Place For Family Gathering

This great home has 4 bedrooms - 2 queen, 1 king, and 1 twin, plus a sofa sleeper. This newly renovated home has all new appliances and granite, and both bathrooms are completely new with tile and marble. There is a wonderful screened in porch facing the lake with spectacular, unimpeded views of the water and wildlife. You will love having your morning coffee there and watching the sunrise. The kitchen and living room area is one big open space and is designed for large families. Beneath the screened porch is a patio with a porch swing and outdoor furniture. There are plenty of floats and various sizes of life jackets for enjoying the water, and there is a ping pong table, 2nd bath, and washer/dryer downstairs. There are also 2 kayaks for guests to enjoy. In 2018, we built a beach area at the water front with real beach sand. It's such a nice, relaxing feature, and children especially love playing in the sand. There's also a fire pit for those evening gatherings near the water around the fire. If you have a PWC (personal watercraft, like a Wave Runner), we have installed a landing pad joining the pier where it can be safely parked when not in use.

About Brenda Dianne Watterson

We are semi-retired Christian couple with four grown sons, seven grandchildren, and one more on the way! We moved back to NC in 2015 after being in MD for 12 years on a work assignment. Our home is in Lexington, NC. We own and operate a tree farm on our NC property that grows privacy screen trees. Our lake home is just 30 minutes away.

Brenda Dianne Watterson purchased this house in 2015

Why Brenda Dianne Watterson chose New London

One thing we really love about this property is the gentle slope to the water. We did not want a lot of steps to walk to get to the water. Another thing we love is that this home is a rancher style. Houses in the Lake Forest area are not jammed on top of each other like in other areas of the lake, so we liked the size of the lot. The property is very close to a marina that has a restaurant.

What makes this house unique

We both love to fish and enjoy the water, but as we still both work, we decided to share our lovely home with others who would enjoy it like we do. When we started looking for a lake home, we settled on this property, primarily because we love Badin Lake for its superior water quality and beauty. The house needed updating, and we are glad to be finished with all the hard work involved in making this a comfortable and lovely property.

Great Home and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Watterson's home over Memorial Weekend. This is a great home that has everything you could possibly need. Nice updated and fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms with a great open living space. The bedrooms were nice and were a good size.

They were each equipped with luggage racks and drying racks (which made it nice not having everyone's towels and bathing suits all hanging in the bathroom) The screened in porch was very nice with plenty of seating and was a great hangout place in the evenings. The dock was in great shape and had plenty of buoys and anchors for tying off our boat. We even caught some nice bass off the dock. Although we didn't use them, there were lots of games and water sports equipment available for use. Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and we will be booking our next trip soon. The Wattersons are great people and are very easy to work with. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great vacation.

First time we went to a Lake House and we loved it. My husband and I rented a pontoon

boat and cruised up and down the lake and looked at all the lovely homes. We also

had a great dock and a little beach that was awesome. Great place to sun, swim and

catch up on my reading. Love the home, the owners were terrific, we were last minute and they were great, easy to deal with !!

Great Lake house!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house. Beds are comfortable. Nice touch with luggage/ towel racks. Linens available for a fee-handy. Bedroom layout a little odd with master at the end of the hall. Have to either go through another bedroom or the porch to get to bathroom or main part of the house. Thought it would be problematic, but ended up not being a big deal at all.Updated bathrooms and kitchen. Very clean and well-stocked. Kitchen is large with abundant seating. Screened porch is large and where we spent a good deal of time doing puzzles and enjoying morning tea and dinner. One bathroom is in the basement which i was concerned about, but actually worked out well if you’re in the lake and don’t want to go up into the house. Extra fridge in basement. Great porch swing. Large awesome beach. Big dock. Fairly flat lot and gently descending boat launch that’s helpful for people unsteady/ handicapped to get into water. Lots of floats, kayaks, ping pong, corn hole, games/puzzles. New charcoal grill and fire pit. Marina literally 2 doors down where we rented a pontoon. Owner helpful and responds quickly. Overall, this is a great lake house. We’ve rented a lot of vacation homes. This one has everything you need, with lots of extras. Great location. Clean lake that’s not busy. Lots of wildlife. Grocery store close by. Dollar general that has everything but produce 5 mins away. General store and produce stand 5 mins. Restaurants about 15 mins. We will rent again.

Perfect weekend...Again

  • 5 of 5

Great home and fully stocked with everything you may need to enjoy a nice weekend at the lake. The new chairs under the porch were a big hit and the kids had a great time fishing and playing in the water. Can't wait for our next trip and look forward to the sand beach area that coming soon.
