Litchfield County Farmhouse Retreat in Vineyard Area

Our home is a 1790s Federal Colonial located in the heart of Litchfield County. Vineyards, Mohawk ski resort, a covered bridge, lakes, antique shops, art galleries and wonderful restaurants are nearby. A bison farm is across the street, and we provide WiFi, board games and streaming TVs. Litchfield town is a short drive and has grocery stores, pharmacies and other necessities. Since this is our home, WiFi/cable/linens/cookware/other necessities come with this rental.

Although the house has 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, we try to contain wear and tear, so please see the occupant limit below. As reflected in the pictures, there is an eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room, study, library, upstairs social room and outdoor screened patio. Every visitor marvels at the amount of space and the way in which the layout enables privacy if two separate adult couples will be using the home.

This is the ideal, inexpensive weekend get-away for someone who loves rustic charm, values space and is looking for relaxation. Although we do our best to well-maintain our home, it was built centuries ago so unexpected snafus may occur (and our rental is priced accordingly). If you are looking for a modern home with dishwasher, A/C, stainless steel appliances, etc, this is not the place for you.

The Wassaic MetroNorth train station is about 40 minutes away, and it takes less than two hours to reach our home from NYC (1.5 hours from Greenwich).
