Are you ready to go someplace where you can relax on the beach all day and fall asleep to the surf pounding on the shore at night? Want to know what it's like to really live Island Life? Tired of people following you around, trying to sell you trinkets? Wondering if there's anything left unspoiled and beautiful in the Caribbean? Then Casa Costello is where you need to be.
Lie beneath a palm frond roof, sip coffee on the terrace with stunning views. With two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two large terraces, and a cabana overlooking the beach, you'll have plenty of room to spread out in the shade and enjoy the trades. Our place is private and quiet. One side of a beat up wooden door is all flowers, hammock and birds, the other side is the deserted beach you've only imagined in your dreams! (No jellyfish, lots of sand dollars, star fish, and sea-glass.)
Rustic, colorful, and original, you've never stayed at a place like this! We have little red crabs living in the garden, (and occasionally wander into the house by mistake, ha-ha.) There are numerous birds and lizards to watch in the yard all day, and our cats are always on patrol.
As for excursions, everything from fishing, snorkeling, horseback riding, river rafting, ziplines, golfing or caving can be arranged. There are also rum factory and coffee tours. Just let us know what adventures you seek before your arrival, and we'll help you get it planned out.
For business travelers, our internet WiFi is basic and great for communicating with us, streaming movies, email etc. If you require a faster WiFi for work, it can be purchased for 90US$ for 30 days. It can be paid in cash at the house, the company will be paid and change the WiFi to 10 Mbit down 2.5 Mbit up that same day.
Sustainable, ecotourism is important to us. We refuse to put up a giant concrete wall to separate our home from the beach and the people. We like the sound of the sea, we like the locals that help us take care of the place, and we like our salty window screens. We want to feel the sand beneath our feet, taste the fresh fruit and fish, and we love being a part of the community in Las Canas. We pay a price for this, sure. Every hinge or latch rusts within days, and we have to have people on call to fix things as they break. We have to replace everything electrical on a regular basis. (Just replaced the ceiling fans.) Is it worth the hassle and work? Absolutely! Our reviews say it better than we can.
