Rosie's Holiday Cottage in North Devon With Indoor Heated Swimming Pool

Millers and Rosie's cottages are adjoining self catering cottages peacefully located within the glorious north Devon countryside. They are in an area of great interest and sits on the edge of the quiet rural hamlet of Woolsery but is just a short drive from breath taking north Devon beaches and the English Heritage coastline, popular with bird watchers and walkers. The properties are adjacent to the owners farmhouse as part of a 45 acre beef farm but offers much privacy within its own enclosed gardens with children's play areas. The famous surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are an easy drive and for family fun The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Parks are close by. The pretty historic port town of Bideford is just 9 miles and offers town amenities and boat trips to Lundy Island. For walking and cycling the famous Tarka trail is close by. Horse riding is available nearby and there is a local shop and fish and chip shop less than 1 mile away, within walking distance. Both properties are very well equipped and provide a high standard of accommodation. There is ample off road parking. All linen and towels are included in the price of the booking. Both properties have central heating, cot and high chair available on request, Freeview TV, DVD player, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and washing lines. Both properties have access to mature gardens and to the private indoor heated swimming pool and is available for use all day, every day. At the end of the gardens is a play field for children with climbing frame/slide and trampoline. Garden chairs provided to allow you to sit back and relax in the beautiful surroundings. WiFi access in both properties. The farm has a number of different types of poultry and peacocks for you to see if you are interested. Pets can be accommodated but only by prior arrangement with the owners. Both properties are Non smoking.

Rosie's cottage is a barn conversion which sleeps 4 people. It has two bedrooms; one double with en-suite shower room and a twin room with a shower in the room. It has a separate family bathroom situated downstairs, which has been newly refitted in 2014. The lounge has an electric fire effect heater, TV with Freeview and DVD player. The kitchen was newly refitted in 2014 and has a dining table and chairs. There is access to a washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate store room and there is a lawned area with garden furniture, washing line and children's play frame available for the cottages use.

My dad and I had a fantastic stay! The swimming pool and the games room are amazing, the property is really spacious and has everything you need. The hosts are lovely and we felt really welcome throughout.

We were greeted by the friendly host, Chris who showed us around. We found Rosie's cottage exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were plenty of towels. The location was lovely and quiet and in a great position for visiting local attractions. We would definitely stay again.

Great accommodation, the pool and games room were perfect for our young teens. Lovely local area, the chip shop was the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. Lovely stay

We had a great stay here. The location feels like the middle of no where which we love but it is actually central to a number of great places. We went to Bude which the kids loved for using their boogie boards. Hartland beach was beautiful and Clovelly is a must see! Plenty of activities for the kids. The pool and play room available onsite where a great added bonus. Absolutely lovely hosts!

Great holiday accommodation

This is a delightful property and our host was extremely helpful and friendly. We took our grandsons (aged 7 and 11) and were able to show them quite a lot of Devon. A big success was the heated swimming pool which they loved as well as the trampoline etc. Everything was great in the cottage and everything we needed. If fast broadband is a must you might struggle as with many rural areas it isn’t fast. However we highly recommend this property.

A wonderful stay with everything we could want and more!

We had the most wonderful, memorable stay. The location was great and we enjoyed many lovely local walks and activities. The cottage and farm were a total dream for the kids (and grown up) the trampoline was great fun, plus the swimming pool which was always just us 4 (and had lots of play things!) The kids loved feeding the chickens and quails and seeing the peacocks. The games room was well kitted out and great fun so plenty to do back at base on a wet day! Also netflix available and spacious rooms. The house has everything it needs including enough loo roll, washing up liquid etc (this stuff makes a difference!) plus the cream tea on arrival was the icing on the cake. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and Christina was such a wonderful host.

Very cute cottage on a farm. Nice and clean with everything you need.Lovely to hear the birds and cows in the morning. We used the swimming pool which was nice and warm and the games room of an evening. Christina and Gordon were lovely hosts, very welcoming. Hopefully we will stay again in the future.

Stunning countryside barn with great facilities

Myself and my 2 children (10 &14) had a lovely stay at Rosie's cottage. The cottage was clean, beds were comfy, everything you need in the kitchen. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch. The swimming pool was a perfect temperature and could be used whenever we wanted. The peacocks in the garden kept my youngest occupied along with the trampoline. The cottage is close enough to Bideford, Westward Ho etc but out of the way in a small village. The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand if we needed them. This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location and we will definitely stay again.

Beautiful peaceful getaway.

We really enjoyed our first family holiday at Rosie's farm cottage. Chris and Gordon were so welcoming and helpful and the cottage was delightful. They had even put a cot up for us in the master bedroom. The pool was a nice touch for the boys to play in and was nice and warm too. We didn't think about distance to takeaways but actually the village turned out to have a lovely fish and chip shop that also did amazing gourmet burgers. So on the one night we didn't want to cook that was a lifesaver. Nearest town was a good half hour drive due to type of roads. (Not a bad thing just something to bear in mind!) The cottage was a lovely size for us and we all felt happily at home even for such a short time. Would Def consider booking again!

Family getaway

We stayed in Rosie's cottage with our two little ones at the end of June for one week. Christina was very friendly and introduced herself later in the afternoon when we arrived. We spoke on the telephone a few days before. A lovely cream tea was left for us. There wasn't anyone staying in Millers cottage so we got to go in the swimming pool whenever we wanted. This was a hit with our boys. They also enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and slide in the gardens. Great location. Nice and quiet and all you can hear is the sound of the many birds. My youngest said hello to the ducks and hen each morning before we went off in the car. Lots of extras included that we had forgotten to pack-tea towels, washing liquid etc. So thankyou! We are looking to stay again with our larger family and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxing getaway with family. Do not ignore Christina's directions to the cottage like we did and follow your Satnav.

A lovely stay in a great location

We were met at the property with a welcoming smile, and all the bits and pieces to make a cream tea were waiting for us in the kitchen. The property itself is quaint and comfortable - the ideal venue for a few days with friends - and the heated indoor swimming pool was a welcome addition to whatever else the property had to offer. The location is ideal for visiting the delights of North Devon - including Clovelly, Hartland Quay and Bideford - and just down the road in Woolsery is The Farmer's Arms, a superb, upmarket but not stuffy, pub restaurant - definitely worth a visit, but you will need to book. Overall, a lovely experience.

Myself and my husband have been letting our two self catering holiday cottages for over 30 years. We enjoy meeting people coming to stay with us and helping them to enjoy their holiday. The cottages are within our 45 acre beef farm, on which we have numerous farm birds, chicken, ducks, peacocks and wild pheasants. Frequently I have children from the holiday cottages watching me with the poultry in the morning and helping to collect eggs!
We live in the farmhouse near the cottages and are on hand if you have any enquiries during your stay. The position of the cottages is completely separate from the farmhouse and allows for complete privacy.
We enjoy seeing guests using the swimming pool and making the most of the gardens and play areas.

Why they chose this property

These cottages were converted by ourselves from barns. In fact Millers cottage did used to be the Mill house for the local area and still has the original Mill stone laid in the gardens.

What makes this property unique

The cottages are peacefully located in the countryside allowing you to completely relax and unwind. There are lush, mature gardens for you to enjoy, the swimming pool, which you have your own key for access at your own convenience. The cottages are situated only a short drive to numerous tourist attractions, adventure parks, beautiful golden beaches, ideal for surfing. There are also numerous countryside and coastal walks in the North Devon area that guests often undertake. There are riding stables, close by and golf courses a short drive from the cottages. Being close to the cornish border, you could drive to some cornish beauty spots or places of interest, such as the Eden project.
