Breathtaking location for an event. If your folks can handle the drive, then this is the place for you! Views, hikes, 4 wheeling, fishing, hot springs, horses, even a donkey! there is always something to do...plenty of games, tennis, basketball, ping pong, you name it they have it. Horse wranglers and staff are amazing as well. Would go back!
Wow! What a spectacular setting and great set up for our family reunion. Steve was very easy to work with, so much so that we often felt like a friend just said “you can all just stay at my house, just strip the beds when you are done”.The rooms were well insulated and the double doors on each side of the bedroom halls kept the activities unheard by those in the rooms. The water at the pond was cool and clear; we never did find the second lake. You might want to check on specifics of the kitchen if anything is important to you. It would have been nice to have the dishwasher they used to have, as we are not paper plate users. Over all, the kitchen was spacious for preparing all our shared meals and there was plenty of room in the 3 door commercial refrigerator, ovens and griddle stove top but the kitchen’s contents were a bit “hodgepodge.” For instance, there were 30 knives but none serrated or plenty of plates but only a few small bowls…good thing we didn’t make chili. :)The ice maker was a game changer to have…I couldn’t imagine this place without it as we kept cold drinks outside in coolers and when it was time to pack out, it was a necessity. Everything could use some tender loving care, but to find this beautiful setting below the magnificent Sawtooths with water to cool off in and for it to be able to accommodate our whole family was a blessing! We had such a fun time! Thank you Steve for sharing this incredible place with us; we hope to be back.
Beautiful place to stay with things for everyone to do. Steve was great in answering questions before our stay and Dave was so awesome during our stay. The pool, lake, and other activities were a lot of fun. Perfect for a large group. Would love to return again!
Second Stay at Lazy H - even better than the first!
We loved our second annual stay at Lazy H! We're a large group that travelled from Boise, and we had a great time!
The owners even made some appreciated improvements - 2 additional sinks in the kitchen, handles on the kitchen drawers, and box fans in most of the bedrooms!
Thank you again for sharing your beautiful property - we can't wait until next year!
We came here to the Lazy H ranch in June of 2024 with our family, ranging in ages from 1-64. It was truly incredible. Bright spots were the heated pool, horseback riding, hot springs, and star gazing. Truly an amazing trip.
We had another incredible stay at this property in Atlanta, ID—our second time here, and it just keeps getting better! The home was spotless, with top-notch amenities, and the views of the Sawtooth Mountains were spectacular. Perfect weather made it even easier to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our entire group loved it, and we would definitely love to come back again! Highly recommend!
We had our destination wedding here. The entire trip was perfect. The property is in the most amazing location. There are endless activities for everyone to do. The rooms were great and plenty of space for the 40 of us that stayed there! I highly recommend for any wedding, family reunion, or just trip with friends/family. Everyone was asking when we were coming back as we were packing up! The host was great and easy to communicate with and Mike and Amity who live on the property are amazing.
Had a great time, there was plenty to do, so much that we didn't get to most of the games we planned to play. Heated pool, bed rooms, kitchen, great room and the outdoor space were all you could need. The property care takers were very helpful and nice. Don't worry about the drive there, just listen to directions from the property, not Google.
This was an amazing place for our family reunion! Our family of 30 had plenty of space to spread out, both in the house and on the property. The listing was accurate as to amenities and the host, Steve was very responsive to our pre trip questions. The best part of our stay was the extremely helpful on site property manager, Mike and his wife Amity! It was an unexpected perk to have someone right there to answer questions about the area or help when we needed extra supplies. This is a truly unique property and experience!
Our family reserved a week at the lodge for a family reunion and it was fantastic. Location is spectacular, the grounds are lovely, the lodge spacious, clean and convenient. We absolutely loved the swimming pool and hot tub, and spent hours every day in the lake enjoying the paddle boards, kayaks, canoe, raft, etc. Back at the lodge there was so much to do from horseshoes to ping-pong to pool to golf. What a magical place!
The caretaker Dave was wonderful and could not have been more helpful.
One complaint: we felt that the listing was unclear about some things and I suggest that potential renters check with the owner about the amenities you care about.
Our group loved our 5-night stay at Lazy H! We were a group of friends centered in Boise who wanted a group vacation to relax and rest.
Our highlights:
-Spacious enough for everyone to work on projects or have time by themselves while also allowing space to have group activities.
-Great amenities - the pool and hot tub, the well-stocked commercial kitchen with commercial fridge. The icemaker was awesome!
-Adequate seating for meals
-Everyone loved having a private bathroom in their own bedroom. The beds were comfy and the rooms larger than we expected
-The outdoor activity and relaxing options. Nice walking areas, we fished in the pond (catch and release), and some of our folks even took up the amazing groundskeepers up on horseback rides (an additional cost for those who chose to, very reasonably priced!)
- The friendly donkey (Eeyore) who almost everyone in our group took a picture with!
The only challenge we had was that the cleaning crew was given a different date for our check in, so half of the lodge wasn't ready for us and the pool wasn't filled (nice to know they clean between stays!). We are an easy going group so not being able to access bedrooms for an extra few hours wasn't a big deal to us.
We're already deciding on dates for next year!
This place worked great for our family reunion of 28 people. Location is awesome once you get there, some winding gravel roads to the top of the mountain but if you are comfortable on gravel they are no problem. Caretaker who lives on the property was incredibly helpful and friendly. We had kids from 8 months to 13 years old and adults from 30-85 years old and everyone enjoyed the pool, pond, golfing, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, horses and more. There was never a shortage of things to do. Although there is no A/C there are fans in every room so by midnight the rooms were cooled off (we went in mid July). It got hot in the main part of the house but 2/4 ceiling fans were broken so that could’ve had something to do with it.
This ranch is a special place. We have a large family of 22. There was never a lack of things to do though just sitting and doing nothing was also wonderful. It felt like being at summer camp. The bedrooms are large and plenty of spaces to hang out in. The wrap around porch was my favorite. There is a very large kitchen with plenty of refrigerators and large industrial range. There is a smoker outside but would have loved a traditional bbq. The pool and hot tub are filled with water from the hot springs so it is lovely fresh healthy water though very warm (as you can imagine). We are always looking for a property large enough to accommodate our family and this has been our favorite. The property managers, Kurt and Alana are worth their weight in gold. The only negative for some might be the drive in. You are on forty miles of unpaved roads. It was not a problem for us but might be for others. There is an airstrip on the property so that is an option though we did not investigate.
The Lazy H Ranch is a slice of paradise. The lodge is beautiful and the scenery is spectacular. We all enjoyed soaking in the hot springs pool. The host, Steve was very responsive and answered all our questions before we arrived. The two caretakers Kurt and Alanna were fabulous and even did a horse show for us. We’d come back again.
This was the 5th year our group of industry retirees got together, we had 21 of 25 friends who planned to go actually make it. Merlin and the staff were invaluable in making our stay so enjoyable. The beauty of the location defies description. The ranch is equipped with many amenities for various activities and the pool filled with hot springs water great. The road to get there is “the road less traveled” but a wonderful experience awaits you at the ranch.
We rented the lodge for a destination wedding and couldn't be happier with our choice. The city of Atlanta is absolutely gorgeous and the views from the property are breathtaking. There's everything you could ever want to do on the property. Everyone loved their stay and kept telling us this was the best weekend ever. The grounds keeper, Merlin, was very helpful. He went above and beyond to help us set up for the wedding and helped with anything we needed during our stay. Couldn't recommend more!!!
We loved the ranch. The accommodations were spectacular, the pool was great one it was cooled down a little. Great dinners on the porch with a view down the meadow at the Sawtooth Range, what could be better. The "ponds" were a little disappointing. The Middle Fork of the Boise River however was spectacular.
Seriously the best of the best. The property is insanely gorgeous. The house and the kitchen were so perfect for our family and friends to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Merlin was amazing and so helpful, he even helped my aunt fix a flat tire. I could go on forget about this beautiful place and the amazing people who run it. I will be always be grateful for them helping facilitate my dream wedding in the mountains!
It was a large space and was perfect to allow our family to be together or spread out. There was no shortage of great things to do. The area is breathtaking.
Merlin the property manager is responsive and helpful.
Amazing, Awesome and many other words I can think of to describe this place. Plenty to do and lots of room to do it.
Hiking, Hot tub, Swimming, Water Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Breathtaking Views, and so much more! Went to the river and went Cliff Jumping !
Like it says on the description "Just show up and have fun!"
There was something to do every day!! With so much to do we never left the place!
I told Steve (the Owner) that I was probably going to ask a million questions and he answered all of them quickly and said
"Keep them coming." Merlin ( the groundskeeper)
was alway there with a smile and info on the area and helped us out with anything we needed!
This is an AMAZING PLACE to reconnect with Family!!!
Our family of 43 had a wonderful family reunion week! The lodge is big, beautiful and great for gatherings. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen is great, lots of fridge/freezer space and a huge ice maker. The caretaker, Merlin, was AMAZING! We had a plumbing issue but they worked to fix it as quickly as possible. Highly recommend renting a side-by-side from Jason up the road so you can explore the area.

My great uncle purchased this incredible property from Herman Coors in the 1950's. I couldn't stand to see it leave the family and purchased it in 2016. It is a jewel and we look forward to sharing it with you.
