23 manicured acres await you, where you can wake up on the East Side of the Villa to watch the sun rise over the vineyards while having coffee, or watch the sun set over the Mokelumne River in the evening with a delicious glass of wine.
A famous swing awaits you underneath a 300+ year old oak tree, or bask in the sunshine at the amazing infinity edge pool.
There are 3 inactivated cameras in the main living space downstairs and 2 inactivated cameras outside. One facing the pool and one facing the parking area in the front. They are hard wired and have not yet been removed. They are not active and are not monitored.

All of the staff at Viaggio were so helpful. I had a proposal planned and they were so helpful with every little thing I asked of them in making it go smoothly. Really went above and beyond. The house is huge and the pictures don’t really do it justice.

Great location, beautiful house and grounds. Carpet could use a lot of spot cleaning, one of the dishwashers didn’t work. Front entry gate was not operating. With ten people staying in one house it would be nice to have a second key available. Otherwise we would stay again and very much enjoyed all aspects of the stay. Host was easy to contact and would recommend anyone interested in staying here to book right away.

Staff Retreat

Booked the Villa for a staff retreat. It was perfect for community building and fun. There were plenty of places to sit and kitchen to prepare our meals. The staff at Viaggio were friendly and the host was very helpful.

Unique and Amazing

We hand an amazing time with our group over the weekend. Each room has its own unique theme and feel. There is also so much space. The size and quality of the master bedrooms is incredible. We enjoyed the diner, the movie theater, and beautiful design of the home, but the best part was the pool / backyard overlooking the river.

Beautiful place to meet

What a wonderful location for a planning retreat with colleagues. Ample space for our group with a number secondary living and dining areas to spread out for focussed work, mealtimes or for wine tasting which the hosts arranged for us to do after hours since our meeting time extended past their normal tasting room hours. Beautiful guest rooms with amazing views of the vineyards in front and the Mokelumne River in the back was a treat for our out of town guests as well. Hosts were responsive and accommodating to our needs. And the pizzas and oysters prepared on site were delicious too!!

Villa by the River

The property is beautiful. The Villa is HUGE and amazing. The garbage disposal had to be replaced and put the kitchen off limits. The next day the dishwashers spewed water out of the vent and could not be used. We had hired a chef for that nights dinner.

Daughter's wedding weekend

We rented the Villa for the weekend for my daughter's wedding. The home was very spacious, lots of room to roam around and not feel smothered with 10 people staying there. The grounds surrounding the home are gorgeous and well kept. Only regret we have is that we didn't extend our stay a couple more days so that we could really enjoy everything the home has to offer. We already have plans to return in the future for a relaxing weekend with family and friends. Absolutely Stunning property!

Beautiful Property is Exactly as Promised

We had a 2 night stay at the property with my sisters and best friends celebrating my Bridal Shower/ Birthday. The house is amazing and whats offered is exactly whats given! None of the photos are edited and the pool is more beautiful than even expected! Teri was more than easy to communicate with and answered all my questions promptly and easily. The location is perfect, with the tasting room just steps away but far enough for your privacy. I really cant think of any negative aspects other than wishing to stay longer!

Great house but time to upgrade!

We enjoyed our stay but the house is in need of updates and is more a 3 star but should be a 5 star. We weren't able to enjoy the theater room because not smart tv/app compatible. Really would have enjoyed being able to binge netflix on a raining Saturday in there! Towels were in need of replacement. Kelly was an awesome GM!

Disappointing. Needs some TLC

Hot water not working in 2 upstairs rooms that share a bath. Ants in the kitchen on counter and in cabinet. Ants in bathroom in downstairs suite. Bird nests by back doors to the pool area with bird poop on the steps, on the columns and the patio chairs. Very dirty and unhealthy. . Front door is near impossible to open needs adjustment. The property needs work inside and out.

We are very sorry that Michael did not enjoy his stay. We did attempt to come and fix the hot water and spray for the ants and were declined entry. Hot water was working upon his departure, but we are awaiting a new hot water heater for that shower and Michael was given the River Cottage right next door complimentary. The bird's nest was removed before his arrival but must have been started again by the birds during his stay. The Villa was very clean when they arrived and was not dirty or unhealthy. We also would have washed the fresh bird poop off the stairs if we had been allowed to do so.

Great Property

The house and the grounds are beautiful. We rented the house for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. There was enough room for all 16 of us to eat dinner together. We drank the free bottles of wine that were left for us, spent time in the hot tub, we watched movies in the theater, used the free wine tasting coupons, and we walked the grounds and picked walnuts. Having four ovens made it very easy to cook Thanksgiving dinner. The only problem that we had- the kitchen was not well stocked. We had to ask near by family members to bring almost everything from pots and pans to silverware. We also felt the need to wash everything in the kitchen before we used it. We had difficulty with the gate to the property. It was very frustrating sitting at the front gate and repeatedly inputting the code. We’re talking about coming back next Thanksgiving.

Amazing summer weekend retreat

Living in San Francisco, all I wanted was a place to feel warm and be in a pool. This place did not disappoint! We have a service dog in training, so I messaged the owners and asked if I could bring him. They were very responsive & agreed to a fee (which is completely fair). The gate code provided didn’t work (later provided a clicker). Used the winery entrance and the check in process was simple…go into the tasting room and let them know you are staying at the villa. After signing some paperwork I got the keys and we entered the villa. The pictures are exactly the same as the house. Grand staircase, themed bedrooms, large kitchen and more dining tables than anyone could ever need. I loved the little Betty Boop diner and the working popcorn machine. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable. And I cannot say enough about that pool!! There were two unfortunate issues. The weekend we were there the weather was well over 100 degrees. One night we had 3 adult friends visit and 2 of the upstairs rooms did not have air conditioning. We messaged the owners and an AC person came out but could not fix it. Those rooms were too hot to sleep in. Luckily we didn’t have a larger group. The other issue was the showers. Water pressure was so bad upstairs that one could not be used. To shower downstairs you could only use the handheld sprayer. Overall the place is definitely used (probably by larger parties), but it is fun, clean and the pool was amazing.

I had booked this gorgeous Villa for my wedding weekend and were unimpressed to say the least. The property is beautiful but then the moment you arrive you notice things are not as they seem. Cheaply made, thrown together, a bit roughed up, etc. The property was not in the condition I would expect for what I paid. Despite having incurred several issues with the venue itself this is a separate review detailing my experience in the Villa itself. > No clean utensils, dishes, etc in the kitchen. I thought it would be stocked full of utensils and organized. Cuuldn’t find basic items (scissors, more garbage bags, etc. Thankfully we brought a lot of our own things to cook with). > Garbage was confusing. Ran out of bags. > A/C wasn’t functioning in the upper level of the Villa. > Winery guests wandering onto back patio near pool/walking on property even though there are clearly marked signs. > Minimal water pressure throughout. > Had to contact the property manager for WiFi, instructions outdated. > Extensive fines for using the pool incorrectly. To the point where it deterred us from swimming. > Plus the spa did not turn on. > Grill outside was very dirty. Had to clean for 30min-45min prior to cooking. This place was great for its size and a backdrop in pictures. However, the accommodations did not seem to make up for how much I was paying on my wedding weekend.

We are very sorry that Brianna is so unhappy. She was most upset about the level of the River for her wedding and the fact that, per contract, she was charged for her last minute wedding changes. We were never ONCE contacted (and I live on property along with groundskeepers and security) about anything not working or instructions on how to turn anything on. There are also detailed instructions in a manual on the counter. ALL air conditioners did and are still working properly. The spa was and still is working properly. There is only one pool rule: do not turn the heat on the pool because it will turn green in about 6 hours. The kitchen is fully stocked. The kitchen was very clean. We could have brought more garbage bags over within 5 minutes of request. Nothing is cheaply made at Viaggio or the Villa. Brianna's wedding was stunning and if she had advised that they could not figure out how to turn air conditioners or the spa on, we would have been there immediately to instruct. If kitchen supplies were not found, we would have been there within 5 minutes to point out which cabinets and drawers they were in. This review is false.

A must read if having your wedding at Viaggio or hosting a large 'group'

My husband and I rented this property during our wedding weekend, Oct 29.2022. The pictures dictate the grounds perfectly. Stunning and great location, walking distance to the winery. However, the spa did not work for us. One of the upstairs bathrooms didn't have hot water. The owner of this property owns Viaggio Estate and Winery which is 100 yds walking distance from this property where we got married. We had communicated to our wedding coordinator, who has been in constant communication with Teri, on multiple occasions for over a year prior to our wedding that we were hosting an after party at the house. This was communicated to us that it happens all the time and what a great idea for us to do. Zero push back. If we would have know this was a problem, we would have never got married at Viaggio. Although the listing states " no parties", we were told the moment we received the keys and signed the contract that we weren't allowed more than 10 people after 10pm, that we'd be fined if the cops got called on us and our $1,000 deposit would be withheld. There is zero communication on this VRBO listing stating no more than 10 people are allowed after 10pm. We only found out about this restriction THE MOMENT we received the keys. Be aware. False advertisement. Then their Viaggio staff members entered the mansion that we rented WITHOUT our permission during our after party. If anyone should have entered the house, it should have been the owner. By the way, no cops were called and they kept our $1,000 deposit. The owner of this property also admittedly deletes any negative reviews of her property or venue. We will not be renting this property ever again and we will be passing along our negative feedback to any and all the people we know.

Larry and Teri Lawrence are saddened by this review. Kendra violated our House Rules and never indicated she was having a party. Our House Rules are designed to show kindness to our neighbors and stay in regulation of County Ordinance. We do have to comply with County Ordinance and be considerate of our neighbors and it is disheartening when guests refuse to do so.

A magical stay

To start off I would like to thank Teri and Larry for such a magnificent stay. My family and I stayed here during my traditional Sikh wedding. Were from New York City and couldn't have dreamt of a better stay in California. This home made my dream wedding come true. Gorgeous estate in wine country

This rental was larger than life and absolutely gorgeous. The pool was beautiful and enjoyed by everyone. The rooms are huge and everyone was comfortable. The only thing we had an issue with was trash bc we weren’t able to find the receptacle out back. Still everything was wonderful and we really enjoyed our time together here.
