Wunderful home away from home

We enjoyed our stay very much. Especially the living room area is unique. The house offers lots of space and rooms for a larger group. Location is close to the Metro ( 3 min walk). The townhouse was the perfect location for us. We will be back.

Ein guter Start für den Besuch von NY. Die Nähe zur Metro, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten „um die Ecke“ und die wunderschöne Wohnung geben eine gute Basis. Die Wohnung ist mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet, die Küche umfangreich ausgestattet. Es muss jedoch dringend renoviert werden. Nicht schließende Türen, ein röhrendes Wassersystem beim Duschen sind die Wermutstropfen, die jedoch der Charme der Wohnung wettmacht

La propietaria es un encanto :)

Fuimos 10 amigos para celebrar el Thanksgiving day! La casa es perfecta con amplias estancias y grandes camas dobles todas, y el tener 4 baños nos dio mucho juego y confort, muy recomendable, la experiencia nos encanto, su suelo crujiente de madera antigua y su encanto de techos altos, es como estar dentro de un film. El exterior más al estilo más puro del Harlem, cerca con sus supermercados, farmacia, y metro, y central park norte. Muy bien comunicados, y cerca iglesia Bethel, ideal para ir a escuchar Gospel. En general excelente, solo apréndase bien a reciclar ;). Gracias Raziad.

Excellent location to discover Harlem

We were part of a group of 8 friends who stayed here in late September. It was perfect. We each had a large bedroom and ensuite bathroom and the living and dining area was great for cooking breakfast and generally relaxing. Location excellent - just a few blocks north of Central Park and with subway and supermarket close by. Great restaurants including the Red Rooster. Razia was an excellent host. She welcomed us on arrival and told us about the neighborhood. Would recommend it and would be good for families bringing children and grandchildren on vacation. Lots of room to spread out.

Spacious stylish cool apartment in Harlem

We were a group of 7 adults/teenagers on our first visit to New York. This apartment is fantastic! Really spacious, beautifully decorated with artworks, lots of bathrooms, lovely bedrooms with storage space. The kitchen has everything you could need - even an electric kettle which was a welcome sight for British tea drinkers- and there is a lovely outside seating area. The apartment is only 2 blocks from the subway station, which is on the express line to the midtown area so very fast to get there. There are lots of good food shops within easy walking distance, and only 6 blocks to Central Park. The street itself is quiet. It was really nice to stay in a real residential part of New York, rather than a downtown hotel. There were board games provided, proper American TV which the teenagers loved, and enough bathrooms to stop long delays in the mornings. We met Razia as we arrived, and Alan took good care of us on arrival and leaving. We also met your very nice housekeeper. This is such a cool place, we all wanted to live here! i can't imagine a better place to stay for a group of family or friends. Thank you Razia for letting us borrow your home! Paula and family

Absolutely great property

A large, fun home in Harlem

Overall, our group of 13 had a great experience here. It is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and a large dining/living area. The kitchen has ample cooking supplies and will likely suffice for any cooking needs (just know that you will have to buy dishwasher detergent and things of that nature when you arrive). The bathrooms are clean and recently remodeled. The master bath is as spectacular as it looks in the pictures. The neighborhood is safe and the street itself is quaint. Being 2 blocks from a main subway station and 1 block from a good grocery store was very convenient. Two things to be aware of: 2-3 of the beds do not have traditional mattresses with springs in them. They have a cloth pad that looks like a thick duvet and they are pretty uncomfortable (we had 2 young adults who had a tough time adjusting to them). Also, be sure to specify how the security deposit ($800) will be received and returned (cash/check/card) before you arrive. Other positives: wifi is great, stereo system is easy to use with an iPhone, and the back patio is cool. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and we would stay there again. Razia is friendly and quick to reply through email. Alan is the house manager and the person you will interact with the most. We didn't need to contact him very often during our stay. But when we did, he could usually provide what we needed. Enjoy your stay!

Great Family House

My family and I (4 couples in total) enjoyed a week in this house for Christmas 2016. There was plenty of room for all of us with each couple having our own bedroom and bathroom. There was also plenty of kitchenware and everything needed to self cater. We were close to the subway which enabled us to get around to all of the different things we wanted to see on our trip. We felt safe in the neighbourhood and found it a fairly quiet area. The house is in a 'lived in' condition but this suited us as I was a little worried it would be somewhere we couldn't relax and had to worry about damaging any 'delicate' furniture or carpets. There is a massive dining table which was great for family meals, a piano, games and heaps of books. We felt 'at home' as soon as we arrived. We would definitely recommend the property and go back again.

Superbe maison idéalement située

Maison très spacieuse, lumineuse (salon-séjour, cuisine avec de grandes fenêtres donnant sur un agréable jardin), bien équipée, très confortable. Un vaste salon avec de grands canapés et surtout une grande table de taille suffisante pour manger en groupe. Literie top. Quartier calme, très apprécié en fin de journée après des journées bien remplies. Très facilement accessible à 3 minutes du métro. Des magasins à proximité. Alan, la personne en charge de notre accueil était très sympathique et a répondu avec beaucoup de gentillesse à toutes nos demandes. Bref un endroit idéal à New York. A conseiller sans réserve.

BON SEJOUR DANS UNE MAISON A HARLEM

Idéalement placée à proximité du métro et de central park, cette maison correspond en tous points à la description que le site nous a donné. Amazing house in amazing city!

We are 2 families (4 adults, “kids” between 10 to 21 years) and came to New York for a city holiday. We stayed 8 nights in this great house. The flat was very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it a lot. There was also a lovely terrace, in which we had breakfast and few dinners. Bedrooms were big and beds comfortable. The open floor plan was perfect for watching sports on TV and spending time with others. At the arrival Razia showed us the house and gave general information about the neighborhood. Both Razia and Alain (the house manager) were very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions/requests during our stay. The neighborhood was pleasant with many supermarkets and restaurants. The subway was very close (express lines 2 and 3 to downtown). Also the Central Park was within walking distance. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back one day. Thank you Razia! Beautiful, Open s

Beautiful! In New York for a graduation, 10 of us (9 adults, 1 toddler) stayed a week at this fabulous home. The house is spacious and wonderfully decorated, with a library in one hall and a piano, both of which we used. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable, the linens crisp and the courtyard a great place for a BBQ (all set with café lights, blooming plants and small tree!). The open floor plan was perfect for accommodating card games, corner conversations, sprawling on the couches to read and watching movies all at the same time and without crowding one another. The street is quiet, yet close to the subway a few blocks away. Alan was pleasant, attentive and provided a thorough orientation to all the house's features. We had a wonderful stay and will be back.

Perfect for a family holiday

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration in this home.It was very comfortable and close to all conveniences (transportation,shops..). My Mum and nephew particularly enjoyed being able to play the piano,and played Christmas songs on Christmas Eve. There was lot of room for all of us which made it easy to live together for 8 days (we were 3 family generations) Great place,beautifully furbished,good location.We really felt at home Alexia (Nice,France)

Amazing holiday in a great apartment!

We spent 10 days in this fantastic city and the apartment was perfect, very close to the express metro line (you can reach the south of Manhattan in 15 min) and to many bus stops, the area is absolutely save and full of supermarkets and restaurants. We were 7 adults and 2 kids and the apartment is comfortable for such a big group, there is also a lovely terrace, the only rhing I could say is that with one more bathroom the apartment would be absolutely perfect (but Razia is working on it), thanks for all!

Great place

We have stayed for 8 days. We were with 8 (4 adults and 4 teenagers). The house is wonderful, with lots of space and a very nice terrace. It seemed as we were at home. Everything is made to feel good and Razia is really friendly. The neighborhood is pleasant, the supermarkets are numerous and the subway is very close (lines 2 and 3 up to Times Square within 15min. We lived somehow as real New Yorkers. Looking forward to going back. Thank you, Razia.

Bon séjour dans un bel appartement

Nous avons séjourné à NY du 19 au 26 Octobre 2015. Arrivés à 9 sur trois générations nous avons pu apprécier la quiétude de ce bel appartement lumineux et vaste. La distribution des pièces a permis à chacun de se reposer et au groupe de se retrouver dans la grande pièce. Le très beau temps nous a permis de prendre le café sur la terrasse. Idéalement situé à proximité de Central Park et proche des lignes de transport en commun, il nous a permis de découvrir NY en vivant dans Harlem. Les deux superettes permettent de se ravitailler sans aucun problème. Razia parle français ce qui nous a bien aidé, elle nous a très bien accueillis et nous la remercions.

Good, some improvement suggestions included.

This is a beautiful old brownstone in East Harlem, an area which is becoming more gentrified as the years go by, that said, the area retains Harlem character and vibe, which adds to the great location. The subway stops are very close by and there is a supermarket, CVS and take-out places all within walking distance. Important points to note for future guests: The upstairs apartment is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues - it is 3 flights of steep stairs to reach the living area from the street. The downstairs apartment (which we stayed in) has 3 double bedrooms and a 4th bedroom in the lower basement. This fourth bedroom doesn't have a "sprung" bed, but rather a futon style soft bed. I knew my husband would struggle with this, so Razia kindly let us use one of the bedrooms in the upstairs apt. as it wasn't in use. This isn't so clear from the photos online, so please double check on this. Suggestions for improvement: Changing the bed in the 4th bedroom of the lower apartment. We just felt that having made the decision to spend the money on a VRBO, rather than a hotel, doesn't mean we should have to sacrifice a comfortable/supportive bed. The upstairs apt's lower floor shower didn't provide hot water most days, this needs looking at. Also, the toilet in this same bathroom seemed to be constantly filling the cistern (sounded like it was anyways). All in all, worked out well.

wonderful Harlem

new york. n. 907563 we were 2 families with 6 children. we spent 8 nights in this wonderful and big apartment, The common space, the big table for our dinners, the big kitchen were really well-suited for all of us. The flat position is perfect because subway access and shops are walking distance. The owner Razia made our stay more interesting because she was very friendly and helpful with all the informations she gave us. I really recommend this apartment to my friends

Beautiful!!!!!

Our stay in New York was fantastic, the Big Apple is a really nice city…amazing. The flat was simply wonderful, so big, so comfortable , so nice and clean Everyone had his space, and two evenings we ate at home all together. The flat position is perfect, we had had some problems with the subway at the beginning but we solved it after 3 days. Unfortunatly we discovered who are you when we back to home, during our stay we think a lot about all cd you have in your living room, we were surprised…but then we discovered the reason. Very nice location and very friendly contact

Great Home!

My family and I rented the house to host relatives visiting for graduation. The 4 bedrooms with queen sized beds were great for accommodating the family and the common spaces were well-suited for family gatherings. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the deck, which provided comfortable outside space, was the icing on top! The owner was very gracious and provided a personal tour of the property prior to the rental. The experience could not have been better. This is a BEAUTIFUL home and well worth the money!

Très bel appartement idéal pour deux familles sur deux niveaux .Quatre belles chambres. Quartier calme et proche des lignes de métro rapides. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine. Décoration intérieure avec beaucoup de goût. A recommander.

We love Harlem, we moved here in 2000 as renters, then bought the property in 2004.
My partner is a musician/producer from Suriname and i am a singer songwriter/pharmacist from Madagascar but living in New York since 38 years, i call New York my home!
We have a 33 year old daughter who is an English teacher/writer.

It has what New York has to offer.
We feel like we are surrounded by nature, with Central Park, Marcus Garvey park and Morningside park; all within 5mn walk from the house.And yet we are 12mn by subway from Times square which is the heart of Manhattan.
We have all the supermarkets a few minutes walk away, Trader Joe's/whole food/Lidl/fine fare/Lincoln/Target you name me and numerous restaurants with food from all over the planet.

It is a townhouse that gives you a feeling of home and it is in the middle of the block, away from the avenues therefor quiet.
My guests enjoy very much the eclectic exotic decoration of the house as well as the practicality of the lay out.
They feel at home and that is exactly our intention.
