Cozy Bend Bungalow!
We loved this listing! The backyard is massive (like your own little private park), and if that starts feeling too small, the place is a short walk from actual parks like Ponderosa, Pilot Butte, and the Juniper Park. Great access to retail and restaurants as well (walking distance from El Sancho's, Safeway, Bevel, etc.). It also should go without saying that Bend just has great access to outdoor recreation in general - this place served as a great basecamp for exploring Deschutes county and the surrounding area This listing feels tucked away, but has great access to both US-97 and US-20. We loved this listing and hope to visit again when the world is a bit more sane!

Great place! Great Host!
Caroline is an excellent host! We were greeted by her at check in as well as with some special Oregon treats and a great book about Bend! The property is clean, well decorated and the kitchen is well appointed. The location is convenient to everything in Bend and our dogs loved the backyard! A perfect place for us!

Wonderful 6 weeks
Caroline was very welcoming and she did a great job decorating the place! The yard was nice and big and our dogs LOVED it! We were also close to everything and it really felt like home while we were there! I highly recommend this rental-you'll enjoy it immensely and you'll make a new friend in Caroline 😊.

All This and Dylan Too (We loved our stay!)
We had a great stay at Caroline's place. It was really cozy and comfortable and she provided beverages that were much appreciated and delicious. She also has a turntable and album collection which we enjoyed, especially the Dylan album. The kitchen was well appointed with brand spanking new pots and pans and she even had some spices, olive oil and balsamic vinegar which is great for folks like us who fly in and can't bring our own. The house is convenient to grocery shopping, including Whole Foods and Costco and to places downtown. There is plenty to do in and around Bend but you already know that because you are looking to book a place there. Caroline's place is centrally located to activities nearby. The finishing touch on our fabulous stay in Bend, was Caroline's sincere hospitality. She greeted us our first day (she was in Bend that week) and she provided several suggestions for activities and pointed us to maps and brochures in the house binder. She's super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We would definitely stay at her place again or at her place in Portland if/when we return to Oregon (which is just an awesome state!). She defines what a great VRBO host should be!!

About the host

Host profile image
I grew up an Oregonian and I love every corner of our great state from the city to the desert. After working in New Mexico, I returned to Oregon determined to find the perfect spot -- star filled skies, sunny days, an ocean of open spaces to explore, rich history, moderate politics, friendly folks, and an entrepreneurial artistic spirit.

As a community organizer, I have worked across the country for causes I believe can make the world a better place. Having traveled much of my life and working in the travel industry it's no surprise that hosting families and newcomers to Oregon brings me a great deal of joy. Whether or not you stay at the Recreation House, I hope you have a wonderful time in central Oregon. Take some time to explore our vast special natural areas, historical places, museums, local music and breweries, and i'm sure you will love your life while living in central Oregon.

Why they chose this property

When I began investigating the housing market in Bend, I was only planning to learn the market, not make an immediate purchase. But after identifying my dream list- a roomy house with fire places, a quick bike ride to downtown, away from traffic, a quiet nature filled neighborhood, large fenced yard with old trees, a garage for toys, close to parks and an open floor plan -- amazingly, I found my dream home. I spent almost 10 months doing upgrades and hand selecting every piece of furniture and art - some new, some from my travels, and others reclaimed from local area thrift and antique stores. I love this house -- it is perfectly cozy. This house will make you feel well taken care of, and it gives you easy access to the places and qualities that makes Bend special.
