Old Lonnie family beach house with stunning ocean views

Merrilyn Beach View is a ground-level, absolute beachfront property in Point Lonsdale offering one of the best ocean and shipping views. Across the road is the safe Point Lonsdale front beach and walk 150 meters to the shops and restaurants.

This is a family home with a long-established history and connection with Point Lonsdale offering different living zones, great for sharing with another family or a group of friends. It is great for a getaway and relax or for the more energetic and exploratory. It is at ground level so all ages can readily access and be accommodated.

Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 - King-size bedroom with ocean views, and en-suite. 2 King singles can also become a King-size bed.
Bedroom 2 - Queen-size bed
Bedroom 3 - 1 single bunk bed and 1 tri - bunk bed (double on the bottom)
There is a family bathroom with bath and shower and separate toilet.

Kitchen
A large open plan kitchen with breakfast bar offers everything you need. Of specific note is the dishwasher, coffee machine and large walk-in pantry. There is all you need for cooking, baking and entertaining!

Living/Dining
The huge vaulted ceiling living, dining room off the kitchen has stunning views with comfortable seating for 8 and the large dining room table. There is a large flat screen TV, DVD player & a selection of dvds and books for the use of guests. A split heating/cooling system makes summer and winter extremely comfortable.

Den/Office
A small separate den/office offers kids a separate games room or a retreat for those who need a quiet corner for an occasional work email. It also has a TV, DVD & radio.

Outdoor Spaces
The front porch has a small table and chairs for outdoor entertaining. The BBQ in the side courtyard is accessible from the front garden and is perfect for your outdoor entertaining. The fenced front garden offers safe playing for young children.

Other
There is a laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. Wi Fi is available.

Local Offering
Within 3 minutes walk are all the amenities you could wish for your family friendly holiday: cafes, a licensed IGA, post office, pharmacy, bakery, clothes shops and other eateries.

Swimming safe, surfing on back beach. Coastal walks, 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, bowls, lighthouse, rock pools, snorkelling, pier for fishing. Short distance to many other beaches and The Great Ocean Road.

Point Lonsdale - gateway to the Melbourne Port provides never ending view of all sized vessels passing through the heads (the infamous Rip).
Bellarine Peninsula - famous for its wineries, restaurants, golf courses, scenic views and children's entertainment. 20 minutes to Geelong.
Historic Queenscliff - 5-minute drive away, or a 5 Km walk along the beach, with its large amount of shops and restaurants, and its wharf and history. Car ferry to Sorrento leaves hourly.
Surf Coast - the coast road through Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Torquay

Our group of 8 friends loved the house, facilities, location and charm of this destination. House is big, with everything we needed and more. Sensational views straight over the bay and heads. Will be back again.

Wonderful

We loved it. A homely place to stay. We loved the books and all the utensils. Generous pantry also. The view spectacular- especially of the ships passing the heads. Close to the shops. Thank you so much. 5 stars.

property thoughtfully equipped and well presented. view and position A1. my only issues were would have preferred a double bed, even though I was on my own. bins needed emptying. the mid week quiet helped the ambience of the place, and I also enjoyed the historic association's photo compilation. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful memories

What an amazing property and outlook. We had such a lovely time at this beautiful property watching the ships come in & out of the heads from our lounge-room couch. The house was very clean, had large windows with uninterrupted views of the ocean and spacious rooms. So magical & such wonderful memories to take home with us of this, walks along the beach at our front door, walking across the road to the beach for our morning coffees. Thank you

Fantastic

I brought my family together for a brief holiday. My grown up children, their partners, a grandchild, friends and my elderly mother. I'd grown up every school holidays at Point Lonsdale and wanted my children to experience what the town and surrounding area has to offer. They were not disappointed. I chose this house carefully for the location and suitability for accommodating my group. On arrival we were greeted by Jan and Jude who were very welcoming. This is a much loved family home and we felt it. Very comfortable, clean with all the facilities you could imagine, right down to the telescope to watch the many ships sailing past. We are working on returning to the house in the future.

Excellent property

We loved our time at Merrilyn. It was a wonderful house. The views were amazing. We loved watching the ships come in and out of the heads. Everything was clean and tidy. It was great having tea, coffee, salt, pepper, spices and more available to use. We will definitely be back!!!

Seaside Gem

A holiday at the beach - bliss! We made a last minute enquiry on the Stayz website to stay four nights. The owner, Andrew, was extremely helpful and flexible. Jan, the property manager, met us at the door to show us through the house, or should I say, a welcoming and comforting home. Everything you could possibly want is at Merrilyn. Plenty of room for all, a hideaway room complete with books, TV/DVD for private space or children, a very well-equipped kitchen with sparkling pots, pans and even a cupboard full of recipe books. We found the beds very comfortable. If you are looking for a total beach stay, with two beaches on offer (the beach across the road has an amazing promenade and the ''Back Beach" beyond the lighthouse has a wild feel), a selection of cafes, and a high quality fish and chippery - Beach View Merrilyn is for you and yours! We stayed four nights and felt as if we had a four week holiday! It's True!

Excellent property and location

This was the second time we have stayed at the Merrilyn and it was just as good as the first time! It is a very comfortable home and well situated for viewing the ships, close to shops and close to beachside for walking and relaxing.

The view is perfect!

Beautiful home

We have just spent a most enjoyable week in a very comfortable home with magnificent views to match . The owners were very flexible and generous and there was no hesitation when we need to change our original booking date . The house was well supplied with everything one would need for their stay including well stocked pantry and bathroom extras if you forgot . I will definitely be back and was hesitant to write a review in case this slice of paradise was so heavily booked in future we could not get back!

Beautiful location and feel

This beautiful home is in a great location and has a peaceful feel for a short holiday not too far from Melbourne. The owners and property manager were generous and flexible which made our stay much easier and more enjoyable. A few modifications would make this a wheelchair friendly home and give happiness to many more. We had a couple of guests, and they commented on the house, location and view - it was the perfect place.

Home away from home

The property is situated in an excellent location with great views of the bay, walking distance to shops, walking tracks and very convenient for the beach. A very well equipped home, comfortable bedding and couches, in a quiet location.
