A beautiful home with everything you can possibly need and a host who is kind and always available. The property is truly magnificent with spectacular views. This was our granddaughters first family vacation and this magical place made it very special and memorable for us all. We plan on returning soon. Thank you so much Michael!

This was my second stay at the property. We visited for spring break in 2026 and loved it and decided to return in summer 2026. The summer weather meant we enjoyed the lake even more as we jumped and swam off the dock. House was lovely again. Had no issues during our stay so no reason to contact the host but the host was a great communicator in advance of the trip. Would stay again and recommend

The house is so spotless, like a brand new house. The owner is awesome and very easy to communicate with. The lake view is amazing. We would love it even more in the fall when all the beautiful trees are changing colors. Our family really loved it. The fish were biting! Good thing we brought our fishing poles We would love to return to this house again.

Amazing place!!!! Absolutely gorgeous!

This place is absolutely fantastic for families get together’s as well as anything else. The lake was absolutely fantastic and the home was beautiful and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.

The host communicated everything we needed to know.The views of the lake from the house were beautiful and we loved getting out on the lake and kayaking and fishing from the dock.We visited for spring break and loved it so much we’ve booked a summer trip.

Relaxing and beautiful

This is a gorgeous, spacious and clean house with a reflexing and pretty view. Great communication and nice stay. The walk down to the dock/sitting area could be difficult for some- definitely a commitment to decide to go down and back- but we enjoyed the kayaks and the view. Thanks for a nice stay.

Fantastic

Very impressed. The small touches were nice; e.g. Coffee was supplied (which we forgot to bring with us). The place was clean, everything we needed was there, plenty of space for our crew, mike was easy to work with. I give this place a super high rating and unqualified recomendation.

Overall stay was good! The house has plenty of space. It was clean for the most part. Musty when you first walk in. Has everything that you need for a family to enjoy some lake time and R&R. The only negative is the STEEP walk down to the lake. Kids are fine - Adults over 55 becomes a challenge. All in all - it was a great time.

We appreciate your feedback about the musty scent which we believe is solely within the front coat closet. While the home is professionally cleaned before every stay, we understand that scent can be noticeable within the closet and are actively working to eliminate it. That said, it’s important to clarify this does not reflect the overall cleanliness of the home, which we take immense pride in. All rugs and couches are professionally steamed after each stay, and every blanket, bedspread, and pillow cover is laundered with disinfecting detergent. As it’s our personal home as well, cleanliness is our highest priority. Regarding the walk to the lake—you’re absolutely right, it’s a bit steep, especially for older adults with difficulties. To help with this, we’ve built stairs at the back of the house to make navigating the steepest part of the hill more manageable. Many guests have found this addition helpful, and we’ll continue to highlight it in our listing. While we’re happy your overall stay was great, we’ll admit it was disheartening to see our long-standing five-star rating impacted. With over 30 perfect reviews, we’re deeply committed to providing a top-tier experience, and we take every piece of feedback seriously as we continue to improve. An amazing place! Big & spacious, beutiful views, completely private. Stocked with more than we thought. Every kitchen appliance, herbs, professional appliances. Room enough to cook for 20. Kayaks, floats, 2 firepit areas, towels, lawn toys, coolers. Just bring your groceries and roll in for a great stay. Very responsive host. But had no need to call him. There are lots of steps on the walk from lake to the house is very steep so consider that when thinking about booking this property.

Almost perfect!

What a great house and amazing location. We spent a fantastic, fun filled weekend with friends and their 2 children doing all the lakeside activities you'd hope for - swimming, canoeing, barbecuing, s'mores around the firepit and generally relaxing. Michael, the host, couldn't have been more helpful. Just one other thing to share - the garden is pretty steep (as the photos clearly show, so no complaints) which is a minor work out for people such as myself to get back up to the house from the lake - all in all, not a bad thing, it helped to justify that extra beer!

Great Long Weekend in the Fall!

We had a relaxing long weekend at Mike's beautiful lakefront property. It was myself with my husband and 20 year old son. Our son had liberty for the weekend from the Coast Guard Academy (less than 2 hours away) and this house on the lake was just what we all needed! The house was spotless, furniture and beds were all very comfortable. We did not cook, but the kitchen was well equipped for any feast you may want to prepare! Our son spent time down on the dock fishing and then we explored the nearby towns for dinner spots. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental and would definitely stay again. This past weekend the fall colors were popping and many neighbors homes were all decked out for Halloween, made for a great fall atmosphere! Thank you Mike for the hospitality!

Thanksgiving perfection!

Michael's house provided everything the photos and description offered, and more. The cooking spaces for making a big holiday meal were fantastic: two stoves; amazing Wolf range; two sinks....and with spectacular views of the lake, and plenty of places for friends to sit and keep us company. When the weather was poor, we played ping pong and pool....again, with those amazing lake views. When the weather was fair, we took several hikes nearby....and the athletes in our group loved running in the neighborhood after breakfast. Michael was very prompt in responding to queries, and everything about getting in and out of the house was a breeze. And the elevator was a handy treat! This is a great house to rent in the late fall, and would be fantastic in the summer with its lakefront access and dock.

We’re stayed in several Connecticut lake houses with family and friends over the past few years and this one was easily the best. Very large and clean with many sources of entertainment. Beautiful lake with kayaks as well.

Gorgeous Home, Beautiful Lake, Fantastic Host

We loved everything about our stay at this beautiful home on Lake Lillinonah. The house was impeccably clean and the balcony overlooking the lake was our favorite spot. We kayaked on the lake, fished off the dock, made s'mores by the campfire, watched movies, went out to eat, and did a lot of birdwatching. My son loved the pool table! Such a relaxing, true vacation. Amazing vacation place

This is our second time staying at this property because our last trip was really good. Michale is a wonderful host. The house was spotless just like last year and there was still an amazing lake view. Dry firewood was there for the fire pit so our kids were able to enjoy making s’mores. Our kids enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the lake all weekend long. The house had everything including board games, a ping-pong table, a pool table, and even two washers and dryers. The place also had enough toilet paper, paper towels, and detergent. I forgot an electronic device and Michele offered to ship it to our home. How amazing is that?! I definitely thank Michale for the amazing vacation we had. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic house

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend with friends and family. The house was clean and not cluttered and right on the water. It was rainy all weekend but the kids loved going out to the dock and playing ping pong. The adults loved the large kitchen and beautiful view of the lake. Than you Mike!
