Newly Renovated 5 Bed House with Private Pool Sleeps 16 - 1 Block to the Beach

The Sand Dollar is a newly renovated 5 bedroom 4 bath Ocean Isle Beach home located on East Second St. Enjoy the view of over 60 acres of uninhabited salt marsh out the back of the property. It is located one block away from 2 different beach accesses. You can enjoy a dip in your own private pool or read a book in the swings by the pool area. There are so many activities to do for everyone! You can play corn hole, putt-putt, ping pong, darts all in the fenced-in back yard/game room area. Rental includes bicycles for easy exploring around the island and the private outdoor pool deck includes a grill as well.

The house is a newly renovated 5 bedroom/4 bathroom with an open floor plan. It is beautifully decorated with coastal accents and decor. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you’ll need for your home away from home. A smart, big screen TV is provided in the living area which includes cable as well as apps so you can access Netflix, Amazon etc. The home also has 5G WIFI which can be accessed in all rooms and outside.

The first floor of the home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom with 2 bunk beds has it’s own bathroom as well as a smart TV for the kids. Each bunk bed has a twin on top and full on bottom. The second bedroom has 2 full beds and an adjoining bathroom. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One master suite with adjoining bathroom which also has a smart TV including cable. A queen bed in one room with a oversized chair which turns into a twin sleeper for the little ones who want to sleep a little closer to mom and dad. The last bedroom has a queen bed and futon chair. The 2 queen bedrooms have a jack and Jill bathroom as well. The home also has two large decks over looking 2nd street. Those decks include a table for dining and areas for sitting to enjoy the beautiful ocean breeze.

Ocean Isle Beach is known as a top vacation destination with world renowned fishing, family friendly environments, and many top restaurants. The island is quiet and a great place to bring groups with people of all ages! Located just 30 minutes from all of the shopping and dining options in Myrtle Beach and 45 minutes from Historic Wilmington. Most families who travel to OIB make this vacation an annual trip!

We had a beautiful stay at the Sand Dollar! The house was fully equipped with everything you could need for a great stay! The pool area was a family favorite as well as the easy access to the beach! The few issues we had at the house were quickly addressed by the owners! They were extremely responsive and great to communicate with!

The house was wonderful for our group of 15 ladies!! The house was beautiful! We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. We also used the bikes, cornhole and ping pong table. It’s a fun place to rent and would definitely rent here again!!

Family Vacation

Our three adult daughters, three son-in-law‘s, and four grandchildren under the age of six came to Ocean Isle Beach on August 3. We loved the house, the pool, and the fenced in backyard. The hosts were extremely accommodating, including letting us get in before 3:00 which was extremely convenient for us and they responded to every text within 15-20 minutes. The only problem during our stay was when tropical storm Debby came in and forced us to leave 4 days early. We can’t wait to go back soon.

Beautiful home and perfect location!

We loved this house!! The kids really enjoyed the pool and the putting green. There were 11 of us there and it never felt crowded. It would have been helpful if each bathroom had at least one roll of toilet paper upon arrival. The property owner was extremely quick to address any issues or questions that we had. I very highly recommend this house and would definitely plan to stay there again in the future!!

Enjoyed the stay. Would prefer lighter color towels and sheets. Spent a lot of time washing towels. Gnats were in the kitchen. I bought spray and that helped a lot. It would be great if grab bars were in the showers. Did not feel safe in shower downstairs( with 2 dble beds).

Best Beach House for Family Vacation

From search to payment and contact with host, all went smoothly. The house was just as shown on the VRBO site and the amenities were excellent including safety features like fire and CO2 monitors, a great pool, 2 outdoor charcoal grills, ping pong, bikes, a small putting green, and lawn games. Our family of 12 was able to have their own space and shared spaces allowed comfortable together time. The kitchen was also large enough for several people to prepare food at the same time. Beach access was a moderate 2 block walk away. Parking spots were ample and on site. The 2nd and 3rd story porches were delightful for rocking and taking in the beach air. Our entire family from tiny tots to teen boys to couples and grandparents totally enjoyed the house from top to bottom!

Nice house with pool

We had a great stay because we were with family at the beach. The house and pool are lovely, but it is not well maintained for a rental property. The house was clean when we checked in, but there are no cleaning supplies of any kind to keep it up. Contrary to the website pictures, only three beach chairs were nice and usable, and only two of the four bikes were usable. The front floodlights and a couple of recessed lights were broken which made it dark on the outside stairway and hard to play ping-pong. There is an old ceiling fixture box over the porch table with just wires and no light so the table was dark at night. The filter in the refrigerator needed to be changed but there were no filters in the house. The dispenser could not be used as the water trickled out and the ice cubes it did make had a bad taste. The owner responded to our first message when there was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms when we checked in and delivered some the next morning. We did not hear back when we emailed and texted on Sunday about the other issues There were enough roaches on all three levels of the house both day and night to make it an issue too.

Hey Beth, we are just seeing your review as we were on vacation after your check out. I do apologize for some of those maintenance issues that we were not informed of. I wish we had known while your stay was taking place or even after so we could’ve fixed these things! As for the bicycles and chairs, the previous renters who stayed there came with a house full of teenagers and they all went missing. We have been in conversation with them to try to get it all replaced So I apologize about that! The house is sprayed biweekly for bugs. It does seem like they have been worse this year on the island than ever! We are now Researching other options with the pest control company to take care of that. Thank you for letting us know the issues so we can fix them before other renters come!

Underwhelmed

As a family, we rely heavily on reviews when choosing rental properties. Hopefully this helps future guests know they need to plan on packing or brining many standard supplies. There is no toilet paper. If a previous guest didn’t leave any, there won’t be any. 3 of the 5 bathrooms didn’t have toilet paper and the other 2 had very little on the rolls. In my opinion, there should always be 1 full roll of toilet paper in all bathrooms. A previous review notes this and the Owner response was the housekeeper overlooked it. I suspect since guests are required to make their own beds, many sleep on the mattress covers as the top bunk beds and one other bed had soiled mattress covers. There are no blankets. Bedrooms have sheets to make your own beds and very thin bedspreads. There are a couple couch throws, but no blankets. If you sleep cold, plan to bring a blanket. The house provides bath towels and wash clothes. But it took us a bit to find them as they are not bathrooms, but in the upstairs closet laundry area. There are no hand towels and very few kitchen towels. The house notes a spa tub and a hot tub. I was looking forward to the hot tub, but there isn’t one. There are 3 mystery jets in the deep end of the pool but the timer that should turn them on doesn’t work. Not sure if this was supposed to be the hot tub or the spa tub. The pool was great. The out door space was nice. The house is large and has plenty of space for large groups. Just plan to bring everything needed

I am a little shocked at such a low review for toilet paper and bed coverings that you felt like were “too cold”. They are the easiest to keep sanitized on a weekly basis. Thick covering for so many beds would never be cleaned during a Saturday turnaround. I did apologize for the lack of toilet paper as that is something we provide but we had some delivered to you quickly. I do appreciate you pointing out that “spa” is a checked amenity as we have never had a spa and it’s not listed in the details when we describe the house. I will remove that as it was not noticed and never mentioned! There should have been 2 blankets in the closet by the laundry room. As for the bedding, we leave them each on the beds so that renters know they are also sanitized and cleaned weekly. We have done that since COVID. We are really sorry you didn’t enjoy the house as we have always had great reviews and try to fix each thing wrong during renters stay. Thank you for the input-we can’t fix what we don’t know!!!

Great location

We will start with positive. House was great size for large group. Beds were comfortable and house looks just as pictured. The outside area was amazing. Loved the pool, bar and lawn games. And the downstairs ping pong and more. They had bikes, umbrella and beach chairs. Plastic dishes and wine glasses were a bonus! The house was pretty clean. Close to the beach. We rented a beach cart from local store for the week. Negatives no beach towels. We had to drop $200 in extra towels so we had them for pool and beach. So plan to bring or buy. Only had bath towels. Some of the comforters were spotted and some of the washed sheets had stains. Once we arrived all the sheets were in a pillow cases on the bed for us to make. It was a little aggravating to make beds for 2 couples and 5 individual kids after a long day of travel. Not to mention 4 of those beds are bunk beds and have to wrestle them on. And with that note they are using some type of fragrance on sheets before or after washing which is not great for people with sensitive to this. This was a problem for our family. All and all the place is great and our family and friends had a great time. Our littles were aged from 3-9 and had the time of there life.

Relaxing Vacay

Everything about the stay was great. Most of the beds were super comfy and the family raves about the great sleep they got. There is a bedroom that has an partial obscured glass wall that lets light in, so don’t choose that room if you’re early to bed and not an early riser. The bikes were rusted so we didn’t want to ride them. It looks like there is a cool bar area being built in the pool/garage area which will be awesome for future guests. The house is about three blocks from the beach access but there is parking. A golf cart is helpful if you have a bunch of stuff to setup on the beach and want an easy ride to OIB restaurants, shopping and activities. Thanks for having us, it was an amazing trip!!
