"Don't Wanna Leave" is located DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH - GULF FRONT at Pinnacle Port: a 26 acre beach resort tucked away at Carillon Beach at the western edge of Bay County, FL. The unit is one of just s few that offers stunning gulf views from both balconies and both bedrooms. The resort sits gulf front on 26 acres located on a virtual peninsula: The Gulf of Mexico is on the South side, with Phillips Inlet on the West connecting to Lake Powell on the North. It's literally surrounded by water, dunes and a coastal dune lake.

While the resort itself is comprised of condos - they're the only condo buildings around! To the west is Camp Helen and the seaside communities of Inlet Beach and Rosemary and to the east is Carillon, so the views are very sea side picturesque and there are no Panama City Beach or Destin type crowds of people. In fact, other than the the peak holiday and summer weeks, the beach is amazingly tranquil with just a peppering of beach lovers enjoying the sun, sand and surf (sometimes I find myself completely alone on the beach). Of course, the summer weeks are filled with vacationers (mainly families, but a good diverse group of young and old), but there's still plenty of room to pitch an umbrella or tent and claim your little piece of heaven!

The Condo:

The gulf front condo is a 2 bedroom, 2 and half bath unit in a two story townhouse type floor plan, which gives it a more home type feel than your typical beach condo, and plenty of room to spread out and find private spaces when you need to decompress.

Downstairs you'll find a well appointed kitchen, living room and laundry room (full size washer and dryer) and a half bath. We remodeled in 2012 with new furniture, flooring, wall paint, cabinet paint and new pulls, and granite counter-tops. There's also a 42? TV with cable as well as a Roku box for watching Netflix movies on demand or listening to Pandora. There's a sleeper sofa, love-seat and recliner - so plenty of room to chill after supper. The living room also has a beautiful balcony overlooking the western beach (this is where you'll see fabulous sunsets) with panoramic views of the Gulf, Phillip's Inlet, Lake Powell, Camp Helen, Inlet Beach and Rosemary Beach.

Upstairs you'll find the guest bedroom, guest bath, master bedroom and master bath. The guest bedroom also overlooks the western beach and the coastal dunes surrounding Phillip's Inlet and Lake Powell (the view is simply gorgeous). This bedroom has a queen bed as well as a twin bed w/trundle (can convert to two twins or a king). It's perfect for a couple or as a kids bedroom. There is also a TV (with cable) and plenty of closet room for storage. There's a guest bathroom in the hallway with a tiled walk-in shower and plenty of HOT water.

The gulf-front master bedroom has a WALL-OF-WATER view of the ocean and private balcony, complete with table and chairs for enjoying your morning coffee while watching the dolphins play or an afternoon/evening relaxing to the sounds of the surf. There's also a 32? TV and plenty of closet space! The master bathroom has a full sized tub/shower. And don't worry about "staying connected": the condo has high speed Wi-Fi.

Amenities:

The property has tons of activities to keep your family busy. The large pool (huge - 118,000 gallons) is attached to the tower building (where our condo is located) and sits Gulf-front so you can see and hear the waves while swimming or catching some rays on the sprawling gulf front pool deck (there's also a smaller pool across the parking lot from the mid-rise buildings.). And, if you're hungry, there's no need to go hunting for food: The Cabana Cafe (open during the summer season) is located right on the pool deck and serves a wide variety of food to make everyone happy.

Oh - and don't forget about Movie Night on the pool deck (summer season only) - completely free and open to all guests and owners. It's a bit like going to a drive in - on the beach! Each week a family friendly movie is shown (via a projector on a big blow up screen) on the pool deck - the sound is played through the pool side speaker system, giving a very "retro drive in" movie feel. The Cabana, which normally closes at 6, stays open late on movie night - so you can eat AND watch a movie with the kids.

A portion of the big pool at the Tower is enclosed by roof - great to enjoy cool waters if you've overexposed yourself (or the kiddos) to the sun - and also offers shelter on the rare rainy day. During the winter, this section of the pool is completely enclosed and heated to a comfortable 82 degrees.

One of the best amenities is the natural 880 acre Lake Powell. Canoes and kayaks for use on the lake are available for rent at the office. A dock and boat slips are also accessible for Pinnacle Port guests.

There are also grills, a children's playground, tennis courts and even shuffleboard!

Additional Information:

* Near 30-A: Rosemary Beach, Seacrest, Seaside, Watercolor and Grayton are literally around the corner (the only thing separating Pinnacle Port from 30-A is Phillips Inlet/Lake Powell/Camp Helen). You'll love that you can enjoy all that 30-A has to offer, without the 30-A price tag (or crowds). How close is it? Rosemary Beach is your view from the west side of the condo (2.7 miles by vehicle).

* Panama City Beach is just 6 minutes to the East (Pier Park is just 8 miles down Highway 98).

* Destin is 30 minutes to the West (Silver Sands Outlet Mall is just 30 miles to the West). On a clear day - most days actually - you can see the Destin skyline on the horizon from the living room.

* It's inside a secluded, gated, security patrolled beach community - shared with Carillon Beach, a private, planned community reminiscent of 30-A developments like Rosemary, Watercolor or Seaside. Its secluded area, while close to all the aforementioned tourist cities, is quiet and there are no city lights to compete with the backdrop of stars over the ocean at night.

* It's on the BEACH! No streets to cross, just walk out the building onto the beach. A nice, sandy HUGE beach.

About Jeanne Melton

I’ve been vacationing at some beach on the Panhandle my entire life – some of my earliest, my precious memories are sitting on the white sands, staring out at the Gulf.

Over forty some odd years, not much has changed in that regard. I still love nothing more than pulling up my chair to the shore and just getting lost as the tactile sensations of wind, cool ocean spray and taste of salt envelop me.

My husband and kids and I realized early on that we all shared this passion. When we first started that great southern tradition of throwing kids in the back of the car and heading south, we were like most family vacationers: we’d plan for months for that seven days of heaven on the beach.

That lasted all of about…well, maybe one year.

We couldn’t stay away. One beach trip became two trips – a long week of Saturdays in June followed up with perhaps a long weekend over Labor Day.

Then it became three – perhaps a Memorial Day weekend, a week in July and Labor Day – that should do it!!

Um, no. We then discovered that the week after Christmas, starting on December 26th was a completely different type of vacation – no long afternoons turning into late night evenings on the beach – but instead, coveted early afternoon hours in December with a jacket and a fire pit – and late night evenings playing Uno, or Risk or Monopoly with the sound of surf outside the door. And unbelievably gorgeous winter sunrises and sunsets that light the sky on fire. But most importantly: quality time with loved ones, decompressing against the backdrop of an ever changing blue sea and sandy shore that changed almost daily with our growing kids – yet offered a constant reassurance in our lives that was always somehow “there” for us. Our place. Our sandy beach. Our surf. Our memories! We realized we had to find our own little place that really was just ours. Several years ago, we finally made that dream come true!

One of the Best Condos at Pinnacle Port!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at Pinnacle Port for years and we absolutely LOVE this condo! Clean, comfortable and really has some of the best views in this resort. The floor plan was great (the kitchen is open, unlike a lot of them which have a bar) - each room and space were private, and we've always loved the two story units in the tower. Pinnacle Port is in the perfect location - very close to both 30-A and PCB - and there's a Publix and Winn Dixie around the corner. The master bedroom has a most wonderful view!!! The beach is perfect - perfect for the kids to play. When we were there, the water was crystal clear and it was WARM in January (love!) We really enjoyed our stay at this condo, and will definitely return - this will definitely be our new "go to" when we are ready to hit the beach. Can not wait to get back!!!

this was one of the first times we've rented a condo. We have a 5th wheel or stay in hotels.

  • 3 of 5

The property itself is well built, well cared for & very nice. There was repair work going on (which we didn't know about)

Mostly affected were the outdoor pool, hallways & misc other areas. Jeanne's condo was OK. The best room is the master bedroom. It has a very comfortable bed & the view is incedible. However it needs some detail cleaning & a repair to the leak on floor caused by the shower. I bought a shower mat at the dollar store. The guest bed was not good at all & most likely should be replaced. The 2nd bath shower was not working right (my husband made the repair). Also had a plugged drain in sink, and needed light bulb out above sink. We put Draino in sink & replaced the bulb. Also replaced bulb at Master nightstand. The kitchen needs to have a better supply of utensils & some need replacing. the light above the sink is broken. The kitchen table & chairs are pretty shakey.

there was nothing to clean with (products). The clothes dryer needs a new filter (torn). Jeanne told us after the we got there about the main tv remote not working & the construction repairs going on. Otherwise she was warm, accomodating & willing to answer questions. We like going to new places so we won't be back. We do love to travel & have done quite a bit of it. Barbara & Rich Greenland

Owner's Response: (1) "There was repair work going on...Mostly affected were the outdoor pool, hallways & misc other areas. Jeanne's condo was OK. "--> In the winter months (off season), the association does maintenance throughout the property. (2). "The best room is the master bedroom. It has a very comfortable bed & the view is incredible."-->I agree! Although I'm pretty partial to all of it ;-) (3) "However it needs some detail cleaning & a repair to the leak on floor caused by the shower. I bought a shower mat at the dollar store." -->Besides professional weekly cleaning between guests, we do an annual detail cleaning in April. I must say I have never had anyone complain about the cleanliness, and had I known of an issue, I would have sent a new cleaning crew! And I do not think the floor need repairing? (I'm confused on this)? (4) "The guest bed was not good at all & most likely should be replaced." -->Some folks tell me they like it better than the master (it's much softer); others prefer firm. We like having both as that provides firmness options. (5) "The 2nd bath shower was not working right. Also had a plugged drain in sink, and needed light bulb out above sink....replaced bulb at Master nightstand"-->I had no idea of this. I am so sorry. I would have addressed this had I known during your stay! That guest shower plumbing is being updated this spring by the HOA. But it was working prior to your arrival (and always has), so I am confused by this? The light bulbs, I assume, went out between guests? And I have no idea about the sink? I've not experienced any issues with that sink, but then again I don't use that sink often. I WILL note ALL this to my housekeeper. (6) "The kitchen needs to have a better supply of utensils & some need replacing. the light above the sink is broken. The kitchen table & chairs are pretty shaky."-->We provide a very good array of kitchen supplies, but did just buy a new utensil set. The table is one of my favorite pieces (Old Florida Style - we commissioned it to look the way it looks). Some of the chairs, also Old Florida, do need tightening. We think of those chairs more as decor than functional: they came from a famed old local bar ;-) (7) "There was nothing to clean with (products). The clothes dryer needs a new filter (torn)."-->We provide dish/laundry starters, but not a full set for guest use. Dryer is being replaced! ;-) We very much appreciate your comments and review! And loved your sweet note and flowers you left. Thank you!

Heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to fl for spring break with my in laws and our youngest child. This condo is a heaven on earth. I loved how we had our own private beach with breath taking views. We had a lake that we could go fishing on, we rented paddle boards and boats very inexpensive and had a lot of fun. Close to many area attractions and took a day to go watch the Blue Angels practice which my father in law loved. This is a wonderful safe gated place that everyone must check out! The homeowners are very easy to work with and gave a lot of good suggestions. Thanks for making this a wonderful trip for us!

Awesome Pinnacle Port Vacay

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay at Pinnacle Port near PCB. We had a great time! The swimming pool is a real asset to the resort. It was extremely clean and the water remained very cool and refreshing. We especially liked a portion being covered too offering relief from the hot summer sun. The beach is beautiful at Pinnacle Port too plus you have the option of the lake just steps away. Our unit was "Don't Wanna Leave" with beautiful ocean, lake, and coastal views. This condo was a great fit for us and conveniently located close to PCB and Seaside. A highlight of our stay was inshore fishing near Shell Island with Capt Guy Ward of Emerald Coast Charters. We caught our limit of Red Snapper in just 4 hours. For a great vacation, visit Pinnacle Port and "Don't Wanna Leave".

Family Time

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time! Just like the photos show. The owners where great and a joy to deal with. It was nice not having to deal with the crowed. At times it seem we had the beach to our selves. We did see the dolphins and stingrays - just remember to bring your binoculars.
