Updated Cottage in Southcott Pines, Grand Bend. Steps to Sun Beach

Escape the public beach crowds of Grand Bend with exclusive access to Southcott’s privately owned Sun Beach. Situated on a large lot, our renovated four season cottage on Brewster Blvd, is literally steps away (180 meters, one row) from the main entrance to Sun Beach, known for award winning Lake Huron sunsets. This glorious sandy beach with beautiful shallow water is perfect for young children and families.
The space
This gorgeous open concept four season vacation home features an abundance of natural light with many top notch renovations. From the new quartz kitchen to the new appliances, fantastic open great room with a vaulted ceiling, to the executive style bathrooms; it truly is the ideal family environment.
There are 3 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms as well as a brand new insulated and powered Bunkie. Please note, the bunkie is not for sleeping as dicated by the by-laws. There are two pull out couches in the sunroom so there is potential for 1 extra bedroom which would give a total of 4 bedrooms. There is room for three families (10 adults and no caps on kids) to stay at our cottage comfortably. The master bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds; the third bedroom has a single bunk bed as well as a twin bed. There are a total of 3 mounted smart TVs each with their respective APPLE TVs in the main cottage. The Bunkie also has a mounted TV. All the furniture and mattresses have been newly purchased and barely used. The cottage has forced air and central AC.
In addition to being steps to Southcott’s private beach, there is access to playgrounds, biking and hiking trails as well as fishing in the Ausable. You are also a short walk to the harbor, grocery stores and many other down town Grand Bend Amenities.

Making memories with family

We had beautiful weather and were so pleasantly surprised how close the beach was to the cottage. Great place to stay both inside and out. We loved the open concept. Only criticism would be the pressure in the showers. Would certainly stay again!!

Very enjoyable!

Was a very comfortable, enjoyable stay! Only complaint is you need to oil all door hinges in the cottage, as they all creak. Cottage was very clean, open area allowed all 12 of us to be together. This was my first experience using Vrbo and will definitely do it again!

Great Fall Stay

My friends and I stayed at this cozy cottage for a fall weekend. We really enjoyed everything. The host was communicative and kept the check in simple. They also answered all my questions before our stay. The cottage itself was clean and has the prettiest backyard right in the middle of trees where the fall foliage was absolutely gorgeous. Utensils were clean and well stocked and the washrooms were really clean. The beach nearby was also quiet and had a great sunset view.

Concerns

The cottage inside was very clean . The showers had no grab bars, the front steps had no railing and the front porch light was burnt out safety issues. The outside needed some care, I.e. cleaning up of patio and around doors and windows to remove cobwebs. During our stay two limbs about 3 feet long fell from one of the back yard trees and landed next to the gas fire pit . Fortunately we and our dogs were not sitting out at the time. Our family was unable to come up, there was just one visitor for one night.

Hi John, Thank you for your feedback. We always take any feedback into account and try to make our cottage more accommodating. Our cottage was renovated with a contemporary design in mind. Our decorators did not feel that grab bars were a necessity. We have never had any guests comment on this and have personally never used grab bars in showers. I have let our handy man know of the burnt porch lights, this will be looked after. Let me give you a little bit of background on the neighbourhoods. Southcott Pines is a forest in which cottages were built in. Therefore there is always going to be lots of trees, leaves, and bugs. Due to the nature of the surroundings, no matter how often we clean the outside, there will always be lots of bugs and plant material. Thanks again for your feedback!
