If privacy and charm are what you are looking for, the Hobbit House is it! Tucked away on a quiet residential street, it is only a mile from the Grand Ole Opry, Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Opry Mills Mall, movies, restaurants, the General Jackson Showboat rides and fabulous walking/biking trails. Only 10 minutes to downtown and 15 minutes from the airport. Our cozy home has a BREATHTAKING VIEW of the Cumberland River, en-suite bathrooms, 32" flat-screen TV and Wifi/cable. It has beautiful wood paneling throughout the main body of the house and hardwood floors. Suitable for 4 adults. We have a well-stocked kitchen and provide nice linens and the essentials such as shampoo and soap. This home is on a street where TV shows are shot to give the impression that the setting is out in the country. This was our home for a number of years and our friends named it the Hobbit House. Circumstances compelled us to move to a larger house just 4 doors away, but we loved this house too much to sell it, and Richard still tends his organic garden here. Come to Nashville and enjoy the attractions, then come home to relax and watch the birds, the wildlife, and the boats go by. As one of our happy guests said, "It's like being in the country and the city at the same time." RSTR permit #2016030672.

If you're looking for a home, this is the place to stay! Great location, large deck. Picture window with view of river, bird feeders, squirrels. Best of all the owners were very helpful as this was our first trip to Nashville.
Quaint little house on the river
We really enjoyed our stay. Ms Sherry had all the little extras to make our stay comfortable. It was also very convenient to the places we wanted to visit. I have already recommended it to some of my friends. Would definitely stay there again.
We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. We would highly recommend this as a great place to stay. The owners are great. Great location too.
Quiet, charming, peaceful and 10 min to all of the action
The cottage is rustic and charming with a nice view of the river. Everything was clean and organized, there was nothing that we would have needed that wasn’t provided. I loved the huge fire place, the large windows with the bird feeders outside. The amazing colors of the birds set my mood every morning. The location of the cottage is the best. It’s so quiet and peaceful yet it’s 2 min from The Grand Ol Oprey( the hotel is a must see) and 10 min to downtown. Vacation made easy is located at the hotel on the corner, they have tickets for everything. We had a great time experiencing Nashville and our stay at the cottage made the trip a complete success. We can’t wait to come back!
This place was wonderful. CMA Fest 2019. My husband and myself drove from North Carolina and my brother and a friend both flew in from out of state. Sherry met us there when we arrived and showed us around. Prior to our arrival her husband and herself were In constant communication via email letting us know the best place to get our groceries, eat, and some everyday directions to help us out. Very hospitable. The house was tucked away like the best kept secret. Slept so well here. The house was very clean along with some extras that Richard and Sherry put out. Loved the back deck looking out over the river and watching all the birds at the bird feeders. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place. And the commute to downtown Nashville was 10-15 minutes with no traffic taking the back roads. Perfect for CMA Fest goers.
Nice Place - Great Location
We spent 3 nights at the Charming Riverfront Cottage and loved it. We visited Nashville to do some exploring and check out the night life. We were about a 10 minutes ride from most places downtown (Uber was still quite expensive so we ended up driving each day). The house was very clean and had plenty of supplies. The view from the deck provided a great spot for morning coffee or evening dinners.
The Hobbit House is in the area generally referred to as the Opryland area or Music Valley, a popular entertainment hub. It is in a very private setting but at the same time in a convenient location only 10 minutes to downtown and one mile to restaurants, etc. We live just a few doors away and are happy to do whatever we can to accommodate our guests. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
