Pigeon lake is known to be weedy, some seasons are worse than others, and the amount of weeds on the shoreline is often related to weather and water currents. At extra weedy times, we recommend bringing a floatie and heading out past the weeds to take a dip. This area of the lake traditionally has warm waters in the summer season.

Such a magical stay! The layered decks leading down to the lakefront were incredibly inviting, and the enchanting sunsets and sunrises were unforgettable — you could enjoy them right from the front door all the way to the water. The fireplace added the perfect warm, cozy touch, and the kitchen was truly top-notch. The whole place felt spacious yet cozy, clean, calm, and luxurious. Absolutely loved it 💛
It was exactly what we were looking for for a quick break from the city, would recommend for a small family looking for the the basics, clean and cozy. Great host. We'll be looking to come back in another season and enjoy the lake.
We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. The cottage was immaculate and cozy. My favourite part was looking out the large beautiful window at the lake and a variety of birds. So peaceful. Highly recommend and will return.
I stayed with 2 girlfriends for the weekend. The cottage was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Check in was seamless. We didn't go swimming but enjoyed hanging out by the water. There were a few tree roots to watch out for when walking down to the lake. View from cottage was great! Would book again.
We stayed at this property in January to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday in a location central to the family. It was warm (not a guarantee for a cottage in January), fairly clean, and had more supplies/amenities than I was expecting. didn't speak with the property

Not Rustic. Old and Run Down
We were less then impressed with the property. It did not meet our expectations bases on the ad. They had a scentsy thing going which made me very very sick. When I addressed this with the host she basically blamed me for not informing her of my scent allergy. There were some bugs inside the property. The roof started leeking from a pot light. When I informed her she claims it had never happened before. But we could see bubbling in the ceiling that says otherwise. The was very poor water pressure and the tub was backing up with grey water. She did agree to allow us to leave early and is refunding the last 2 nights which we did. It was not the wonderful experience we had hoped for.

We are also less than impressed with the experience with this guest. And their review does not accurately describe the experience. Susan’s complaints started immediately after arriving at the cottage. We have a single glade plug in the cottage, in a common scent, set to low. Upon arrive Susan informed us that she has a serve allergy to scented products and almost needed hospitalized from the scent of the air fresher, and that we are required by law to provide a scent free environment. We apologized and explained that short term rentals are private residences, we do not claim to be scent free and most guest who have issues with scent advise us ahead of time. We ask guests upon booking if there is any special requests or things we can do to ensure they have a great stay. Had we known we would have been happy to take steps to minimum the fragrance in the cottage. Susan interrupted this as me blaming her for her allergy.
Unfortunately there was a leak after the rain. We had never had a leak there before, pictures were taken and there is no staining or evidence of previous leak. The bubbling was fresh and caused by the current leak. Susan would not allow us to enter the property to have the leak looked at/repaired because she would be out and there is no safe in the cottage to lock up her valuables. Which she also complained about. We do not have a safe listed as an amenity.
We offered a refund to check out and find alternate accommodation but Susan decided to stay. Later changing her mind to leave a day early, then 2 days early. Both nights we refunded.
The cottage is on a septic system. There is no ‘grey water’ system that would back up and upon checkout all drains were checked and running properly.
Susan complained about the noise of the fridge, having to pay a pet cleaning fee (which she was aware of ahead of time), amenities not provided that we made no claims to provide. The leak that was out of our control that she would not allow us to fix. Drainage issues that were not there.
Susan was very difficult to communicate with and argumentative/hostile. She was not responsive to or open to any attempts to adresses her concerns.
Would not recommend this guest.
