Hmm, I think I’d like a beautifully decorated, intimate little cottage for two, located near some hiking trails into a State or National Park. Oh, and I’d like to hear the train whistle faintly in the valley. If possible I’d also like a campfire we could use, oh, and a grill. And if you can arrange it, I’d like see the deer frolic in the nearby pond. I know this is a tall order, but I’m confident it’s out there somewhere. If you find it, please pencil me in.

Cute cottage for a couple.
Everything was great. Stayed for our anniversary and didn’t have to talk with anybody else. We felt very secluded and alone, which is what we were going for.
The most peaceful getaway ever.
This return trip to Mentone was a much needed break before getting back to school. The location is secluded and very private, but close enough to unique restaurants, sights, and shopping, to give you the best of both worlds.
Great Place for a Romantic Getaway
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely little cottage to celebrate our anniversary. It is tastefully decorated and very cozy. There is no cable/satellite or WiFi available, but we enjoyed simply cuddling on the couch watching movies, playing card games, reading, and doing puzzles. It was nice to “unplug” for a few days. The cottage is about a 10 minute drive from the “heart” of Mentone, where we enjoyed dinner at the Wildflower Cafe (LOVE their tomato pie!) and lunch at the Green Leaf Grill (delicious bacon cheeseburgers!). The cottage is also an easy hour’s commute into Chattanooga, TN (We drove in one day to visit the aquarium).
The only thing that would’ve made this place better for us, personally, would’ve been a nice soaker tub and/or a hot tub. All in all, though, we will definitely be recommending this place to our family and friends, and hope to visit again someday. Thank you so much to the sweet owners for your hospitality!
My husband and I had a long weekend for our anniversary and we could not have picked a better location. From the property that the cottage is on, to the cottage itself, we were beyond impressed. The cottage itself is well-furnished with comfortable bedding and everything we could have needed to prep our meals in the kitchen. The property was just beautiful and we really enjoyed walking the trails and the swimming hole! And to top it off, Charlie the dog was just as sweet as can be and the best tour guide ever. The location is just enough off the beaten path to be private and secluded, but close enough to everything that NE AL has to offer to be convenient. I can not say enough about this place! But don't forget the bug spray if you plan to go hiking!
Off the grid, relaxing weekend getaway
The cottage was very clean and all the basics were provided. It should be made clear there is no cable, satellite, or internet however. We enjoyed staying outside and hiking the beautiful property. A rainy day would have proven to be s problem though. The owners were great to work with.
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay here very much. We hope to be back soon and make this our own getaway. Owners are wonderful.
