"I'm dreaming of a cozy little cottage, tucked away near stunning parkland. I don’t need much—just the essentials: a comfortable bed, a bathroom, a small kitchen for preparing meals, and maybe a screened porch where I can sit outside and soak in the surroundings. A non-smoking, pet-free space is a must, and a small campfire would be the perfect touch for unwinding under the stars. I've heard Mentone is a hidden gem, a true escape into nature, and that sounds exactly like what I want. The thought is exciting—does such a place exist?
And if there’s a water feature, like a small pond for fishing, that would be even better."

One of the best places I’ve stayed at ever!! The owners are absolutely the nicest hosts I’ve ever talked to!! The cottage is so beautiful!! I absolutely love how small and cozy it is!! The views are gorgeous! I could go on and on about how amazing this place is and how amazing the hosts are!! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!! Oh and the dogs Sampson and lyza are absolutely the sweetest dogs on the planet so welcoming and sweet and kind they will love up on you and it’s the cutest and sweetest thing ever!!!

This place was absolute perfect! Location is like a 12 min drive to mentone, private, beautiful property thats very peaceful n u feel safe! Our cottage was everything we wanted and needed! We will definitely stay here again and tell everyone we know about it! The owners are so nice n welcoming also and u get greeted by 2 of the sweetest doggys!

Spotless! Bed was extremely comfortable. The view to the pond and the screened in back porch was so peaceful. Enough space to spread out and relax. Hiking trails nearby and flowers blooming everywhere. Did I say PEACEFUL?!! A wonderful weekend or longer getaway!

This cozy little cottage had everything for a great time away for our anniversary. Quiet area with everything you need for meal prep. The hosts thought of everything to make for a comfortable stay. It was a great relaxing experience and we will be back.

Bobbie and Ray are fantastic host: from booking to check-out we felt welcome and cared for. There are so many thoughtful touches throughout the cottage and property. Everything one could possibly need they provided. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The shower!! The shower is amazing! It is so evident that Bobbie and Ray truly have hearts for hospitality. We look forward to staying at each one of their properties during future visits!

Nice Couple Getaway

Nice property

The cottage was very stylish and beautiful. The land surrounding the cottage was also very nice and well kept. A short drive from downtown Mentone and the state park.

Ray and Bobbie bought this property at an auction in 2004. In the years that we've owned it, we've raised our kids, made lots of improvements, and are enjoying the results.

When we were searching for a property, we prayed to find a property that would show the beauty of God's creation. We think we succeeded. You be the judge.

What makes this property unique

The property borders the Little River Canyon National Preserve, and DeSoto State Park. Bring hiking boots and a swimsuit - Shigley Hole is just a 15 minute hike down our trails.
