Thank you Marijo & Dean for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. We have family in the area and it was a great “Base of Operation”. The stars at night where amazing. I look forward to staying there again.
This cabin exceeded all my expectations--it was truly magical. My kids and I loved it. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The cabin was well-appointed and being able to use the kayaks was one of the highlights of the trip. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Marijo!
What a peaceful setting. The cabin was the perfect "Maine getaway".
Perfect setting. The property was unbelievable. We had a good time just driving around and looking for wildlife. The kids were excited to see 2 porcupines. The cabin was comfortable and met all of our needs. You all really have a piece of heaven.
Beautiful Property & Fantastic Owners
If you are looking for a beautiful, secluded, relaxing spot; this is the place! We were welcomed immediately to the property by Marijo, who took us to the cabin. The cabin is beautifully decorated and the views and atmosphere are amazing. The brook in front of the cabin is perfect for fishing and kayaking, especially for the novice. My son, who previously disliked canoeing or anything of the sort started kayaking independently and loved it! All of our kids loved it! They also caught lots of fish. We went to Maine thinking we would spend a lot of time hiking in Acadia, but decided we loved the cabin and property so much more! The day we went to Acadia it was so crowded and it wasn't even peak season! Marijo and Dean were the most welcoming owners! They made sure we had everything we needed and were available to answer lots of questions. They are so friendly, you'll feel like you are staying at a friend's property. They even took us out to look for moose, but no luck.
Thank you, Dean and Marijo, for sharing this gem with us! We will definitely be back!
If you are looking for a little peace from the hustle of the world, this location is it. The owners are delightful and the cabin is top notch. Our children enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the stream as my husband and I watched them from the deck. We arrived just in time to see the fall colors explode into a magnificent scene. Perfect property!
A special place
We had a wonderful stay at Meadow Camp. It is sited approximately one mile along a well kept off road track. Silence. There is a great view of a small river and meadow. So peaceful.
The owners, and builders, Marijo and Dean were exceptional hosts, showing us lakes to swim in and generally being magnificent hosts.
The lodge itself is very well appointed with a full kitchen with everything you could need - we had a family cook off and were never short of anything. The beds are great and there are 4 doubles and two singles. There are two satellite TVs but no wifi, which we enjoyed being off grid. The mobile reception is also difficult, again which we also enjoyed. It feels remote but is only a mile from a main road.
There are two canoes and one canadian canoe by the cabin which you can use to paddle on the small river, we found a beaver dam up river.
We saw beaver, hummingbirds, bald eagles and heard moose. There are plenty of black bear around but they never bother anyone.
Mount Desert Island is about 35 mins away and was nice but busy with tourists, we preferred hanging out at Meadow Camp.
We will be back, it is a really special place.
