This waterfront vacation rental is located on pastoral Vashon Island in Puget Sound. Kingfisher Cabin is only a short ferry ride away from Seattle, Tacoma or Southworth. The west-facing views of Quartermaster Harbor will delight as you lounge on the large deck, walk the beach or sit and read by the wood-burning stove.

The cedar plank cabin has a light-drenched living room with cathedral ceiling and skylight, an open kitchen and two queen bedrooms. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, glassware, etc. Well suited to make your own elaborate dinners or simply reheat leftovers.

The Kingfisher Cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway or family retreat.

My aunt and uncle built this cabin in the 60s so I’m a bit biased. However, it’s a beautiful and peaceful place and Jessica was responsive and pleasant to work with. Couldn’t ask for more.

The cabin is clean and comfortable. It's a cabin, so it's a little rustic, but it's well stocked with supplies, it's quite, and it's in an idyllic location with a great view of outer Quartermaster Harbor. We had a very comfortable couple of days there.After we left, we discovered that we left some items in the cabin. We called the host and she had found them and made them easily available for us to pick up. Very nice people, and I can't recommend them enough.We will stay here again when we return to Vashon/Maury Island.

The pictures can not do the view any justice. It is amazing and so quiet! The walk down to the beach is easy and what treasure can be found when the tide goes out. We will definitely reserve this rental again.

The cabin was very clean and the host very available. The deck was the best! So peaceful,beautiful& quiet. A few extra niceties would have been nice. Saran wrap, enough dish soap,shampoo and maybe matching towels. But overall a good calming trip. Still a 4 stay.

I almost don't want to share the charm of this cabin on the water so I can still get it again soon. The 180 degree inlet view of tides, wildlife, boats and clouds is outstanding. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need. Communication with the host was excellent and the beds were comfortable! Will definitely return.

We loved our stay at the cabin. It was a last minute trip for our family and Jessica was great in answering all our questions. The location was amazing for exploring the beach, SUP’ing, and watching the beautiful sunsets from the deck. A perfect rustic and relaxing getaway; we’ve already booked another time to return.

This was our 3rd time staying here, we obviously go back for a reason. This property is fantastic for a very relaxing stay. The deck is amazing to sit with a book & beverage and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Lovely cabin in a charming setting! Only accessible by ferry, it will cost about 45 round trip to get to and from the island. During summer months, it can get stuffy inside and there are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms so you may want to bring a fan (there is only 1 in the cabin). The kitchen is well equipped so you can hit the grocery store and be very comfortable without having to leave. The local theater is quaint and we enjoyed catching a current movie there. There are many little places to eat and shop if you want to go into the downtown area. If you want to build a fire in the stove, you need to provide your own wood (available at either the grocery store or hardware store "in town"). The view from the deck is amazing and it was a great way for morning coffee or afternoon lunch. If it had a hammock, it would have been ideal for an outdoor nap. I loved hearing the birds in the morning and watch the boaters and rowing crews go by all day long. There are a bunch of books, board games, and puzzles in the cabin which were wonderful when the weather was misty outside. This cabin has been well maintained and you can tell it's much loved!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Kingfisher Cabin on Vashon. The huge deck and water views simply can’t be beat. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very comfortable for our visit. The location is also great—It’s far enough off the beaten path that you feel tucked away in a private corner of the island while quaint shops and restaurants are within a short drive. We hope to return!

We (Mark & Jessica) married and bought the Kingfisher Cabin in the same year. It was a crazy time but we wouldn't change a thing. We love being able to share our beach hideaway and introduce others to Vashon.

Why they chose this property

Jessica's mom grew up on Vashon Island and that is where her parents met. She spent many summers visiting relatives and exploring the island and is happy that her family gets to continue the tradition in their own beach cabin.

What makes this property unique

The Kingfisher Cabin is located on a quiet beach and is surrounded by trees. We almost named it the tree house. The view from inside the cabin or out on the large deck is beautiful. No matter the weather - the water makes it better.
