The Space:

A quiet forest settles around you as morning light filters through budding leaves, the air fresh and gentle. Inside, the wood‑burning fireplace flickers, offering a warm glow for cool evenings while the surrounding trees whisper calm. The deck, lit with soft string lights, invites you to breathe in the scent of pine and listen to birdsong as the day unwinds. Here, time slows, and the simple comfort of a cabin in Gerrardstown becomes your retreat.

Sleeping arrangements

The cabin sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. On the main level, the primary bedroom features a king bed for restful nights. Upstairs, an open loft holds a queen bed, perfect for family members or close friends who enjoy sharing space.

Outdoor living

Step onto a spacious deck that stretches over the wooded acre, where string lights create a gentle glow at dusk. A fire pit offers a cozy spot for chilly spring evenings, and a BBQ grill provides the option for outdoor meals. Wander the surrounding woods, breathe the crisp mountain air, and let the natural setting refresh your senses.

Kitchen & dining

A fully equipped kitchen opens to a dining area, making it easy to move from cooking to sharing meals. The layout supports relaxed breakfasts, simple lunches, and hearty dinners after a day of exploring nearby trails.

Living space & comforts

The open‑plan living area centers on the indoor fireplace, ideal for quiet conversations, board games, or streaming a movie on the Smart TV. Heating and air conditioning keep the cabin comfortable year‑round, and Wi‑Fi is available, though service may be slower in this remote setting. A washer and dryer, bathroom essentials, and free on‑site parking add convenience for longer stays.

Neighborhood

Located in Gerrardstown, the cabin is a short drive from historic sites, antique shops, and the small‑town charm of the area. Hiking trails, parks, and fishing spots are within easy reach, while Martinsburg offers additional dining, shopping, and attractions a bit farther away.

Pet‑friendly retreat

Your dog is welcome to join you in this peaceful setting, with plenty of space to explore the forest together.

No pet, several items needed repair. No extra blankets or quilts. Heat wasn't working. Manager communicated well. Finally moved to different rental.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
