Great location for Acadia and neighboring towns. Setting was beautiful. Firepit was nice for gathering. Kitchen could have been better stocked. There were no wine glasses or cutting boards and only 4 dinner plates. We made it work.

Great location. A fantastic beach within just a few mins of walking distance. Quiet neighborhood. Perry's Lobster Shack is about a 1/2 mile down the road (also walking distance) and it's a BYOB. Had fantastic food and beautiful just looking out at the water. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the town of Surry...Blue Hill was a cute town close by...and I think if we had stayed closer to Bar Harbour or Acadia, we would have missed out what Maine is all about. Peace, serenity, friendly locals, and just so much to explore and hike outside of the National Park.

I traveled with my husband, our 4 young kids, and my parents. We loved staying here. There was a cute toy room for the kids to enjoy with a ton of books and toys. The outdoor area was also a hit with everyone (games, fire pit, and plenty of yard for the kids to play). The bedrooms were all very spacious, we had plenty of room for our two travel cribs in the master bedroom, and our other two kids loved the bunk room. There were nice updated amenities, everything was very clean, and plenty of space for everyone in the house. The host was very easy to communicate with and check in and check out were so easy. The location was perfect for us, close to everything we wanted to do (Bar Harbor, Acadia, etc) but far enough away that it felt like a secluded retreat. We loved staying at this property and would love to stay here again in the future!

The homeowner reached out on our 2nd day at his property to see how we were doing. I responded letting him know I didn't get any sleep on the first night as dogs in his backyard were barking all night. It was our 2nd night, told him I was going to bed and the dogs had been barking, but were currently quiet. I clearly expressed my lack of sleep from barking dogs. I received no response to this reply of his text asking how we were doing during the entire remainder of the week. The dogs barked every night during our weekly stay. On the third night, I discovered the dogs belonged to the owner. He showed up every late afternoon and locked two dogs in a shed building and returned mid morning to pick them up. I saw him drive into the backyard of property doing this and he never stopped to talk with us either even though it was obvious we were present with our car and sitting on the porch. Serious lack of communication.The reason I gave poor rating on cleanliness is the bedding was full of dog hair. I removed the comforter and went to Walmart and bought my own blanket. The remainder of the home was clean and had no issues. I strongly suggest throwing out all the bedding and replace it...not a big expensive to substantially improve the property.I would also suggest the following to improve your rental: Purchase side tables and end tables for living room and bedrooms. No place to put your drink or personal items. Fix the broken freezer. Clean or replace your outside trash can.
