About this property

Little Rock Cabin Tahoe City- Hot Tub, Pet Friendly, 1/2 mile walk to Lake Tahoe

The "Little Rock Cabin" in Tahoe City was built in 1946 by two Swiss Craftsman brothers after WWII. This "old Tahoe" style cabin is a couple's delight or perfect setting for a small family. The "Hansel and Gretel"cottage is located on 5 private acres just a few blocks from Lake Tahoe. During the winter enjoy its close proximity to world renown Ski resorts including Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, or go down the street to the family style resort of Homewood Ski Resort which is across the street from Lake Tahoe. During the summer enjoy unlimited hiking including right off the property to the US Forest Service Land which surrounds the property on 3 sides. The Tahoe Rim trail is accessible just a short walk away. Walk down the street to the private homeowners beach, "Tahoe Park Beach". Expansive beach with two piers and gorgeous lawns, boccie ball courts, horseshoes, playground, paddle board rental and more. The homeowners beach is adjacent to Sunnyside Restaurant where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail out on the deck and even rent boats and jet skis. 3 miles away is Tahoe City, a quaint town with local stores and a variety of restaurants, bars, grocery stores etc. The 5 person Hot tub is a nice way to relax both during the winter and summer. We love cooking in the gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

Relax in front of the stone fireplace, grill on the gas BBQ, or soak in the peaceful hot tub nestled on the sunny deck.

Hike miles of trails on Forest Service land, enjoy a bike ride on the paved bike path, stroll down to the nearby private beach with picnic area and playground. Located just
5 minutes from Tahoe City's beaches, music festivals, and farmers markets. World class dining is just around the corner, as well as boutique shopping and art galleries. Just 15 minutes to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood Mountain Ski Resorts!

The coziest cabin close to everything

This little cabin was perfect for a family of three but will also fit a few more in the upstairs loft. It has his own hill in the back for sledding or hunting Bigfoot for the little ones. 1 minute drive to the coffee house, 5 minute drive to pizza or 2 minutes into town. The cabin has everything you need. Will be back again next ski season

Fairy tale cabin in the snow

We loved our stay at the Little Rock Cabin in Feb. 2019. Everything exceeded our expectations. The cabin is gorgeous inside and out. The exposed beams in the family room are just beautiful, and the space is perfect for enjoying the HUGE selection of books, games, and movies the owners provide. The kitchen is modern and well stocked with everything you need to make your own meals if that's your thing. The cabin is close to Homewood and all the shops and restaurants in Tahoe City, but at the same time, it's far enough off the main road to feel secluded. We loved watching the snow from the steaming comfort of the hot tub. The owners were INCREDIBLY friendly and responsive before and during our stay. Overall, a truly magical spot for any Tahoe vacation. We will definitely be back.

Great location, perfect cozy getaway

This cottage is so cozy and charming! It's very well situated near Homewood with easy access Tahoe City for groceries and fun going-out options. Kristin was incredibly helpful throughout and so accommodating when a huge snowfall made conditions challenging for our departure! Thanks again, Kristin!

Fantastic property

The cabin is wonderful! Warm and cozy, the kitchen is nicely stocked and super clean. I appreciate they provide clean sheets and extra comforters. The hot tub was very nice and clean. Everything worked as you would expect and there is bathroom and bedroom storage for your stuff. After the snow, the driveway was promptly blown and the deck was cleared so we could go play. We will definitely go back!

Gorgeous cozy cabin, perfect for our family

We had an amazing time at Little Rock Cabin. It’s in a good location, just minutes south of Tahoe City and a 10 minute walk to the Lake or West Shore Cafe. It was very well setup for our vacation; the kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of board games and movies for the kids and a great selection of books for us. There was room for 4 adults, 2 kids (7 & 11 yo) and our small dog. The hot tub was clean and well used after our days skiing. The heating system was easy to use with a nest controller and gas fireplace. Kristin, the owner, was very accommodating and sent through all information we needed. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

Quaint and cozy little cabin!

Clean and well appointed cabin in a quiet location close to the lake. A little small for 4 adults in the winter but any inconvenience offset by historic rustic charm!

Cute little cabin in a great neighborhood

Loved everything about the Little Rock Cabin — location, fireplace, hot tub — it was just a lovely place to stay for a long fall weekend. Enjoyed hiking and biking and walking for a coffee every morning at the West Shore Market. Perfect size for a couple and a dog or a small, young family.

Celebrating 25th wedding anniversary

Kristin and Ken were great to work with and always prompt getting back to me when I had questions. The cabin was rustic and romantic; the perfect location for my wife and I to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The view from the upper deck was stunning and kept us there for hours. We will definitely be back!

Awesome little cabin

My wife and two teenage kids stayed here last week. We've stayed here before and will definitely be back again. Kristin was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. The cabin is perfect for a family with 1-3 kids. Parents have their own bedroom/bathroom downstairs and then the kids have the loft with single beds and a bathroom upstairs. Outdoor area is great too. We BBQ'ed several nights and ate almost every meal outside on the teak outdoor table. Always great to soak in the hottub after a long day of riding or hiking too. Like I said earlier, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

cozy cabin with all the amenities

Beautiful and extremely well located cabin that feels woodsy, but is just minutes from the lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and enjoy a meal! Beds are comfy and water pressure is great. And, the deck is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee, a meal or just a glass of wine as the sun sets. Loved it!

Perfect for our Family of Four

This cottage was perfect for our family of four. We brought our bicycles and biked into Tahoe City one day, as the bike path is at the end of the street. There are many places to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner just neighboring the cottage, and in Tahoe City proper. We also used the fully-equipped kitchen and ate a lot of meals right out on the front deck, underneath the patio umbrella. Just up the hill from the cottage is a great trail system, where you can easily hike to Paige Meadows (make certain to bring bug spray and sunscreen for that hike). Finally, we went went to the Tahoe Tree Top Adventure Course up at Granlibakken, just a mile or so north of the cottage. Every day, after our adventures, we soaked in the hot tub and relaxed. We only wish we had another day or two to stay here. We WILL be back! Thank you!

Very sweet cottage

Loved our 3 night stay over Memorial Day weekend. Very cute and we especially loved the outdoor spa. I would have liked to know about the inconvenience of not being able to use the front door due to the bear damage. It was fine but it proved annoying to have to use the bedroom as the entry hall all weekend. Also, it would be great to have a coffee table if I could suggest it! Difficult to have a cup of tea with nowhere to put it. Saying that, I suppose those with dogs could use all that open space in the living room. Overall I think it's good value. I'd stay again if the living room was cozier. Saying that, it's great value for the price.

The coolest, little cabin has everything you need and is close to town, tubing, skiing

This cozy little cabin has a loft right above the family area. There was enough snow in the property for sledding, snowball fights and hunting Bigfoot.

We had a great stay at the Little Rock Cabin

We loved the sledding/hiking hill behind the house, the close proximity to Tahoe City and the easy short walk down to the beach. House is in good condition, the only issue we saw was the Toilet handle in the downstairs bathroom broke and took several days to fix. Otherwise we had a great stay.

Little Hidden Gem!

From start to finish this cabin was absolutely perfect! We loved everything about it. It was in the perfect spot, perfect size, super cozy with all the amenities you could need. I just wish our stay was a bit longer so we could really enjoy the little rock cabin more. I would definitely rebook this place again if available next time we're up to Tahoe. Kristin was a pleasure to work with, very responsive to help answer all my questions!

Relaxing Retreat

We went up for a ski trip President's Day weekend, and this place was awesome - the home is very cozy and inviting. There's plenty of space to enjoy each other's company when in a group and space also to just be on your own. Of all the places we've gone, this place had it all - coffee makers (yes, 2 of them), all the kitchen stuff you could want, hot tub, easy-to-use TV that didn't require intricate knowledge of quantum physics to operate, comfortable seating and bed. Nestled on a private drive in Tahoe City, it was close to restaurants, ski resorts, hiking and the lake. The perfect place for a Tahoe getaway. We will definitely come back and recommend this place highly.
