Absolutely lovely property. Great location near Black Beach. Cool beach vibe throughout. Could use a few more kitchen towels but otherwise nicely stocked. My only issue is the maintenance that was required of me. I'm ok with taking out my own garbage but not a fan of having to strip beds, start a load of towels or sheets, dragging garbage cans to the curb. I can do this at home. I'd stay here again in a minute but probably won't due to me having to do what I thought I paid on cleaning fees.

Great place. Pet friendly but lots of stairs for an older dog to go up stairs to the bedrooms. OK, just slow- going. Steps to a wonderful beach

Great location, quiet, close to beach, market, restaurant

This is the third time staying at Blacks Beach Retreat. It’s walking distance to the beach, a small market for basics, and some restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay

Great location

Our family of 4 enjoyed this house for spring break. Great location with easy walk to the beach. Very comfortable property with everything we needed.

Blacks Beach Retreat has a unique floor plan that offers two bedrooms with an indoor/outdoor feel and if needed a convertible bed downstairs all with their own bathrooms and sense of privacy. The decor is spot on Santa Cruz and the location is perfect is you like to wake up and walk down to a spectacular sweeping view of the Monterey Bay from Steamers and the Wharf to the Santa Lucia Mountains standing behind the Monterey Peninsula. We loved it!! And we absolutely love Santa Cruz.
