Enjoy a coveted open layout with a sleek full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, subway tile, and a three-seat breakfast bar. Wrong entry code

Waiting to get correct entry code after a 7 hour driver was ridiculous. No one could help for 30 min. Then the local manager got us in promptly.. Everything else was good. Feel like a partial refund for inconvenience would be the right thing to do.

Our Stay At Scout's Cove

This was the perfect property for us. We LOVE the Colington area and this cottage is perfectly situated right on the water. It was the perfect size for us and our two dogs. It was nice to have a fenced yard to be able to not have to leash them up for potty breaks. The house is cozy and well-equipped. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Great property and community

The property was perfect for our trip. We were able to do some fishing in the sound. The neighborhood has a great community location to fish. It also has a dog park and a nice outdoor area with a playground and picnic tables. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood. It is close to Nags Head and Manteo. The house was very nice. We loved the layout and the deck on the sound. The internet was not working but they provided a hot spot which worked most of the time. It only went out once and came back up within a few minutes,

Perfect

loved the fenced in back yard for our pup. Home was well maintained, couch was a little uncomfortable but overall a good visit. Would definitely stay again.

Home great; service not so much.

The fenced yard for dogs was fantastic! Open the door and let him out. The waterfront deck was also very relaxing. So much better than a hotel or even a condo with dozens of other people around and no private outdoor space.

Vacation July 24-31

Booking our stay was very easy and communication before check in was great. The day of check in was very smooth with a keyless entry and code was sent a day prior with no issues. When we arrived at property the yard was not mowed and was not mowed till the day before departure. Inside the home there were only one item to last a whole week (laundry detergent, dish washer detergent, paper towel roll and one trash bag) this was for an entire week of stay. The bedrooms did not have anywhere to place luggage items and no counter space in the bathrooms which was a hassle to find things. I know this residence is pet friendly but there was dog hair along the floors, beds, couch, and baseboards. The chairs and couch in home are broken and can feel springs when you sit down. The beds are very uncomfortable and there were no extra blankets or sheets if needed. The bathrooms did provide some toilet paper, and towels for whole week stay but only 2 washcloths. Residence is located in a gated neighborhood which was nice, neighbors were very friendly during our stay but if you wanted to enjoy dining and shopping the residence is a good 15-20 minutes from things.

Perfect getaway!

We love the OBX! This was our first stay on Colington Island and it’s a great house and location. Fishing and swimming in the backyard kept us busy when at the house and location was good to hit our OBX favorites. House was clean and had everything we needed.

Cute Quiet Beach House

We loved staying here for the week! It was calming and peaceful since the house is not off the main road. It is in a private community, further from the main road, which allows for a lovely retreat away!

Great visit with local family

We were so happy to be able to bring our grandpuppy to meet our Colington harbor family. The kitchen is well appointed. Beautiful dock set up.

Great house

I loved the area and being on the water!! Quiet neighborhood. House was very nice inside. Very nice dock on the water and fenced in yard was a plus for our dog. We will definitely go back!!

July 4th week

At first sight the full trash can was knocked over in the yard and the grass was about knee high all week. The grass was cut the 6th and last night we were there. The hand rails going up the steps are a vinyl cover and they are not secure. That was almost really bad. The dishwasher was severely overloaded and left full. That should have been emptied before we arrived. Of course most of the dishes were still dirty so 15 mins into vacation I had to clean/work. There were no blankets on the beds but sheets were provided. A few things were broken from previous guest that should have been thrown away or fixed and just left. Wi-Fi never worked for us. Some of the outdoor furniture advertised in the listing isn’t there but there is still plenty. The dock is brand new and has a nice swim ladder. The property is located at the end of a cove so not a lot of boat traffic to worry about. Loved then fenced in yard and the dog friendly house in this community. Overall the house was decent but maybe post a trash pick up schedule for the renters in the house and definitely need help cleaning up. I HATE to complain but I also didn’t want to work as soon as I walked into my vacation house.

Comfortable, but lacking amenities

The home was clean and comfortable with a wonderful view. If we come back, we’ll need to remember to bring hand soap, sponges, and trash bags. We were disappointed in the lack of amenities, but we only stayed the weekend so it was a minor inconvenience. The dogs loved the backyard and the kayaks were great. A couple cute cafe options nearby. I’d recommend this location for sure.

TERRIBLE

7am mowers and blowers in our yard in a community with quiet hours NOT enforced. Inspector knocking on door because dock was unusable/disrepair so estimate was needed!!!! The ENTIRE reason for booking this house was fishing!!!!!!!! We had to wash and put away someone elses dishes!!!!!!! It was not clean and neighbor is a real KAREN. Don't book here!

Refreshing Short 3 Day Vacation

Loved the property. It was a great place for a short three day break from reality. Yucky weather but the location made it a peaceful get away. We will def use this service for our next trip. The process was easy from beginning to end. It was mindless for my busy schedule. Thank you

Great stay, cute house

We enjoyed our stay. The house was relatively clean and had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The dock was unusable but that was communicated to us prior to our arrival. The only issues we encountered were there wasn’t a lot of clothing storage (one bedroom had a closet but no dresser and the other bedroom had a dresser but no closet) and we really wished there were blinds/ window coverings. The neighbors new homes are very close (not pictured in the listing) and we felt like we were on display. Taking all of that into consideration, we would still stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Perfect for our boys

Great family stay with our dogs and boys ages 17 & 19. Our boys were all about the fishing and the outdoors. The place is nice, not luxurious, but was overall the perfect place for what we were interested in doing. Bring your own kitchen items including napkins, trash bags, plastic food containers etc. Our only real complaint was the grass hadn't been mowed. My only recommendation would be a low dock for the dogs to swim. We enjoyed it a lot.

Beautiful home on the Harbor

Beautiful home on the harbor, My husband got to fish everyday and he loved that. Bathrooms could have been a little cleaner. Overall a good experience !
