Unwind on the River, Views, Beaches, Dog Friendly
The Rhondavous should be called The Rhonda-View! Guests enjoy panoramic views of the Russian River from every room of the house (minus the bathrooms). This sunny, window-studded 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom cabin is a great place to relax and immerse yourself in our laid-back river lifestyle.
Built back in the Russian River’s initial heyday, The Rhondavous was originally the general store for Summerhome Park residents and river travelers. Canoes could pull up to a dock, send up their order and receive their purchases on a zip line, all without leaving their boat.
Perched high above the river, The Rhondavous is tucked away from the road by a large private fence. There isn’t much to see from the road, but once you open the gate and step inside, the stunning view and charming cabin will simultaneously take your breath away and melt away the stress of the world. The large deck at The Rhondavous has an outdoor dining table and propane barbecue.
Entrances to all sections of the cabin are accessed from the deck. At the top level (road level), there are two exterior doors opposite each other. The door to the left leads to the main living space, which has an open living area and kitchen. The door to the right opens to a granny unit with a Queen bed and a full bathroom with a shower. Exterior stairs from the main deck take you down to 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (also with showers) and a bonus room with recreation items and a Double futon. From the lower level, gated stairs continue down to the river, which has private deep river access.
The Rhondavous is a member of the Highcroft community and has access to Highcroft Beach (not shown) - a quieter spot which allows dogs before 11:00 am and after 4:00 pm - just a short walk from The Rhondavous. The beach shown in the photographs is the Summerhome Park Beach which is for members and residents of Summerhome Park only. The Summerhome Park Lodge is open to both members and guests when open (except when rented for private parties).
Know Before You Book:
Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at The Rhondavous is 8. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.
Parking: There is a narrow space in front of the house for 1 larger vehicle or up to 2 small size cars. Please be careful to pull vehicles fully off the road to allow room for everyday traffic and emergency vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.
Bed Sizes: Master bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Third bedroom: 2 Twin beds; Bonus room: Double futon.
Heat Source: Woodstove (no firewood provided); portable electric heaters
Driving to Summerhome Park: Summerhome Park Road is a narrow, one-lane country road - you may need to pull over for oncoming traffic. It is, at times, steep with sharp turns, and the road is paved but not necessarily smooth. Additionally, the surrounding side streets are narrow and steep with little to no street parking or shoulder
Common Amenities not Included: No dishwasher.
Dogs: Dogs are most certainly welcome at The Rhondavous. However, guests should be aware that Highcroft Beach only allows dogs in the morning and evenings (specific hours posted at the beach) and guests and dogs are not allowed at the Summerhome Park beach.
Docks & Boats: Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.
Summer Rotation Day: Saturday
During the Peak Season, which runs end of June through August, The Rhondavous has a 7 night minimum and rents on a Saturday to Saturday pattern. If you make an online reservaton outside of this rotation day requirement, we may contact you about altering your dates.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Russian River Vacation Homes

We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.
Our Story:
In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.
Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.
We strive to make each and every stay the best one ever. If you have any questions or concerns about reserving or staying with us, please don't hesitate to contact us! We are here to help.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
Summer Home Park was established in 1908 as a recreational resort community located on a bend of the lovely Russian River.
Today it consists of about 125 summer homes, a beautiful beach, and a "Center" area which includes the Lodge, an outdoor amphitheatre and clubhouse.
Summer life along the river at Summer Home Park is like a step back in time; we love our traditions and we have families that have summered there for five generations!
Summer activities are run by the volunteer board of the Summer Home Park Improvement Club and many of it's members. Activities include outdoor movies, arts and crafts for the children, and many social events: the Memorial Day Chicken BBQ, July 4th Races and Beach Party, Theme Night, and golf tournament to name a few.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
This house was the original general store for the Summerhome Park Area. People could order groceries and other supplies here. Also, canoe-ers would pull up at the river bank, place an order for lunch or snacks, and their food would come back down in a basket by zip line! Many long-time vacationers and area residents still remember this house as “The General Store.” In keeping with the history of the house we want to keep it as original as possible.
