A wonderful property in a lovely location. We didn’t tire of the views and it was a great spot to see both south and northern parts of the island.The little touches of tea, coffee and milk were appreciated. Calheta has a great supermarket and lots of little restaurants to explore around the area.Communication was fabulous too. Couldn’t fault our stay.

Fantastic property with stunning views.

We had a lovely stay, the house has absolutely everything you need. Beautiful sea views and lovely areas in garden to relax and take in the scenery. in quiet area but easy to access lots of levada walks and villages. Would recommend staying here.

Lovely cottage

We had a very relaxing week in this lovely cottage. Everything we needed was there and the cottage is very comfortable. It is quite remote and we had to drive everywhere but there are some nice places to explore . Only a 3 minute drive to cafe Panoeste with delicious coffee and fresh pastries.

Hi Marie Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Once Funchal is left behind, everywhere in Madeira feels very rural. The Island government has been very proactive with establishing the new roads and tunnels to connect all the Towns. Our recently extended section of the Via Rapide now offers a straight route into Calheta in 12 minutes, or use the traditional road down to the beach at Paul de Serra in 6 minutes. So it allows us to offer a peace and quiet location, but with easy access to larger facilities when required. We would be delighted to see you again in the future. regards Bill

Lovely Villa with Stunning Views

We had a lovely week at the villa. Prior to arrival Bill's communication was excellent in terms of advice and information. A minor issue we had was resolved immediately during our stay. The villa is just as it looks in the photos and description. I would re-emphaisise that you need a car to go anywhere (which did not bother us but may not suit everyone). Calheta is 15 minutes or so away with lots of restaurants, beach and a marina (we went on a boat trip and saw lots of Dolphins). We also went to another couple of excellent restaurants in the other direction from the property. Many thanks Bill, we had a great time.

We loved our week at the Blue Sea Cottage! It was a lovely property with a modern and stylish vibe, stunning sea views, a beautiful yard with heated pool, and excellent privacy. Our host Bill provided impeccable directions and advice on Madeira. He and his team were easily reachable and highly responsive. The check-in process was very smooth and straightforward. Perfect vacation in a Blue Sea Cottage Villa

We had an unforgettable week in a Blue Sea Cottage Villa. It is a very quiet place with a magnificent ocean view. Villa is modern, comfortable and very clean with a great heated pool. Highly recommended for the people who want to stay out of busy Funchal. The host of the villa provided a lot of useful information. He instantly responded to all our questions and accommodated all our extra requests.

Lovely get away in Madeira

This is a lovely property in a great location - quiet and peaceful with lovely views. You definitely need a car due to its location, but there is gated off street parking. The villa itself is clean, well presented and has great WiFi (I was able to work without any issue one afternoon). The pool was a hit with the children and the adults enjoyed watching on from a shaded spot looking over the sea. I also had great communication from the host and local representative who responded to questions very quickly - there is also a good guide provided with tips for days out and things to do. All in all, a great holiday, great villa and I would certainly recommend.

Beautiful view

The house looks very new. Everything is top. The view from the pool is awesome. Even if it is a little bit cooler outside you can stay a long time in the warm pool looking over the ocean drinking a glas of redwine. Bill is a very nice host. Thanks for helping me finding some forgotten things. But I think I left them in the rental car. Definitely coming back.

Great stay at Blue Sea Cottage

We had a great weeks stay at Blue Sea Cottage. All information given by Bill was timely. Self check in easy. Villa is excellent. We had plenty of room for three adults. Great bathrooms and kitchen. Outside poll area and view is as per the picture. Perhaps some basics in the kitchen would be great such as pepper, salt, olive oil and cling film. All of which we purchased and left for the lucky people who came after us. Also the BBQ had no implements such as tongs etc. So using the BBQ was a bit tricky. However these are small suggestions for the owner rather than a complaint. Over all we would recommend Blue Sea Cottage as a great place to stay and explore the Island.

Since the pandemic, the provision of condiments etc etc has been a sensitive subject. We receive new Guests, each week and every week. The Madeira trading standards advise against hosts supplying already opened items that might then be used by a different party. It is a topic that we continue to review. We do however include items such as the Pool heating inclusive in the Tariff, whilst many owners charge extra, in order to remain highly cost competitive. Sorry about the BBQ tongs. We do of course supply these, and keep a reserve stock of such perishable items in our Garage on site. The previous Guests may have misplaced them, but the Housekeepers would have been happy to whizz over and replace them if notified. But thank you for the heads up. Pittoresque small house with everything you need

We had a great stay at Blue Sea Cottage. The location with views to the ocean are outstanding. The place - garden and house - in a "Portuguese Style" is very pittoresque. The rooms on two floors offer enough space for 4 adults. The interior design is tasteful and functional. Everything you need for your vacation is there. It should be noted that January is a time of high humidity. It was difficult to dry the rooms sufficiently, especially after showering. Bill was able to help us quickly via the property management. An additional dehumidifier was installed. Communication was straightforward and help was provided quickly. More detailed instructions on how to better ventilate the rooms on the first day would be helpful for guests at this time of year. The surroundings are very rural and quiet. From here you can easily explore the (south) western part of Madeira up to the north side to Porto Moniz by car and the western highlands with some natural highlights can also be reached quickly. The nearby Cafeteria Panoeste (within walking distance with a steep climb), which also serves fresh bread and sweet pastries, is highly recommended. To Funchal is a more or less 1 hour drive.

Could have been better.

Host provided helpful instructions prior to arrival. Self check in was easy. Coffee tea & milk were provided. We could not use pool on our 1st & 2nd day while maintenance was working on the pool. We were asked to fill the pool with water before we could use it which felt like another inconvenience. The pool is smaller than it looked in the listing pictures & has cheap fake tile liner glued to it. The washing machine was not working & although it was impressive to have it fixed within a day, having workers on property again was another intrusion during our stay. Showers have no shelf to put soaps, master shower does not drain well, fills up with water. Dish drainer needs to be replaced as it has black in the corners (also mentioned in prior 6/30/24 review) The gate does not always close with remote & you have to manually close it. (also mentioned in prior 6/12/24 review) House next-door is very close & was noisier than what we would’ve liked. Yes we could have communicated all these concerns during our 5 day stay but after the intrusions & need to send several messages regarding the pool & washing machine the first 2 days we decided to disconnect & enjoy the rest of our time off our phones. Overall the house & view are beautiful, but the entire property needs attention. Based on this & all the little things adding up, unfortunately our experience was not a much-needed peaceful stay & we did not feel that we received value for the price & would not recommend or stay here again

On occasion, there are hiccups between departing Guests and new arrivals. The departees caused two items of damage. The HK informed me of the damage to the Pool vinyl liner (currently “in vogue” with 98% of Madeiran Villas). The repair was done early the next day and ready for use within 4 hours. You were kept closely updated but chose to ignore my advice. The Pool was not “topped back up” for you because our Maintenance Supervisor was too frightened by your hostile attitude to return. Washing machine issue was reported to me at 2:30pm Saturday, in a similar hostile manner. HK and maintenance man attended Sunday 10am with a brand-new machine, but were able to affect a quick repair. Your repeated demand for early check in disrupted the usual HK routine. Otherwise these items would have been identified and dealt with before your arrival. Multiple photographs and description of the property are meticulous and 100% accurate. We appreciate all feedback and use it to constantly evolve and improve. This will include retro-fitting traditional Pool tiles this winter. But comments based upon conjecture are unhelpful and contrary to the usual 5* rating of the Property. We have welcomed international guests to our properties for 20 years and are familiar with different cultural expectations. But hostility communicates itself in an international language. We will analyse your comments in further detail, but would concur that this was not a mutually beneficial experience. regards Bill

Jolie maison avec magnifique vue

Maison propre et moderne. Jardin paradisiaque, au calme. Piscine chauffée mais à rénover. Le liner et la couverture à bulles sont en mauvais état. Parking fermé par une porte automatique qui ne fonctionne pas toujours… on doit l’activer à la main… pas toujours facile. Vacances très réussies sur cette merveilleuse île.

Merci pour votre avis. Je suis heureux que vous ayez apprécié vos vacances. Malheureusement, un invité précédent a laissé négligemment la couverture de la piscine ouverte et sans surveillance, et un vent fort l'a gravement endommagée. Nous avons dépêché un remplaçant, qui devrait arriver d'ici le 16 mai. Au-delà de l’aspect visuel de la couverture, la Piscine reste un élément très attractif et apprécié. La zone de stationnement est protégée par un portail de sécurité électronique. Il ne devrait y avoir aucun problème à moins qu'un autre invité ne soit passé au mécanisme manuel. Notre gouvernante est de garde pour résoudre tout problème de ce type, mais je ne sais pas si lui ou moi en avons été informés. Sinon, le problème aurait été réglé le jour même. Rien que la vie est dépaysante

Le logement est comme décris dans l'annonce. Ne pas snobber les descriptions du propriétaire pour accéder à la maison la première fois, les routes peuvent être vraiment très raides a Madère.

Superbe maison, superbe vue, tres calme

De merveilleuses vacances en famille, location confortable et bien située dans l'Ouest de Madère. Un gérant très reactif et disponible. Un superbe séjour.

Juste top....

Maison avec piscine et vu juste top. Maison rénovée avec goût. Je recommande vivement .

Blue Sea Cottage mit herrlichem Meerblick

Der Aufenthalt im BlueSeaCottage war insgesamt sehr schön und erholsam. Das Haus sehr sauber und gepflegt und die Aussagen des Vermieters waren alle zutreffend.Leider sind kleinere Störungen nicht immer zu vermeiden, wie z.B. Bauarbeiten in der Nachbarschaft oder wilde Katzen aus der Umgebung, die dafür sorgen, dass man die Türen geschlossen halten muss.Insgesamt aber ein sehr guter Aufenthalt mit einem aufmerksamen Vermieter, der umgehend gehandelt hat.

Hallo Kai, vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung. Ich freue mich, dass Sie Ihren Aufenthalt genossen haben. In unserer Gegend gibt es keine wilden Autos, aber einige sehr schlaue und dicke Haustiere, die gelernt haben, Besucher um Futter zu bitten, indem sie alle Villen im Dorf patrouillieren. Wir weisen unsere Gäste darauf hin, sie nicht zu füttern. Wenn Gäste diese Hinweise ignorieren, verschwinden sie. Madeira wurde zum neunten Mal in Folge als bestes europäisches Inselziel ausgezeichnet. Infolgedessen herrscht auf Madeira ein Bauboom. Einer unserer Nachbarn weiter unten am Hang hat ein neues Haus gebaut. Der Bau begann im Oktober 2024 und ist nun abgeschlossen. Lediglich die Innen- und Dekorationsarbeiten sind noch im Gange. In dieser Zeit hatten wir 71 Gästebuchungen in unseren beiden am nächsten gelegenen Unterkünften und haben keine Beschwerden erhalten. Glücklicherweise liegt das Haus weit genug entfernt und tiefer gelegen, sodass der Lärm minimal ist. Aber wie immer kann es gelegentlich zu Hintergrundgeräuschen kommen, die einem das Gewissen belasten könnten. Ich danke Ihnen für Ihre Informationen. Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft

Das Ferienhaus ist toll, schöner kleiner Pool mit angenehmer Temperatur. Es war alles da was man benötigt. Sogar Holzkohle für den Grill, eine Packung Kaffee, Tee, Salz, Pfeffer und 1 Liter Milch. Sehr ruhig und eine geniale Aussicht

Destination und Lage wunderschön.Traumhaft schöner Garten. Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter vorab funktioniert sehr gut.
