An immaculate apartment with everything you could need. It’s located in Newquay. It has the most amazing views across Tolcarne beach. It’s almost hypnotic watching the surfers. It has spoiled me for other places.

Fabulous View

Enjoyed our stay at Rocklands. Fabulous view of beach and cliffs. Very central and wonderful having reserved parking space. Would particularly suit surfers though we weren't ourselves. Pizza Express below was good. Slightly annoying having an Indian restaurant next door.

Shocked

The apartment had fabulous views. Check in was easy. The apartment was thick with dust along the skirting boards, inside the wardrobe, the patio door had dead flies and dirt in both corners and a cobweb in the top right hand side of the door frame. A dirty ear plug was left on the patio. The bedding was badly creased both the sheet, pillow cases and duvet. The smell of the apartment was fusty. The work surfaces in the kitchen had been rubbed. The bath had 1 hair in it but apart from that the surfaces had been rubbed with whatever they use. No smell of sanitizer or disinfectant could be smelt anywhere. . There were balls of dust gathered in the corners of the entrance near the coat stand. On a conversation with Heather who was renting the next door apartment from someone else the difference in the preparation for guests were poles apart. She also gave me the WiFi password for next doors apartment so I could connect with an excellent connection as the Apartment 3 WiFi is virtually non existent and could not be picked up. The owners message told me the apartment could be checked into whenever we arrived. That added to the disgust to our findings. On contact with the owners with photos via email I was told to vacate the property ASAP and a refund would be given. I did expect the owners to find a resolution to our concerns certainly not to vacate the property ASAP. The inconvenience of finding alternative accommodation in Cornwall and both of us being 60+ years of age we found distressing to say the very least. After giving my bank account details and an email stating the monies would be deposited into my bank account on Monday 27/09/21 I am still waiting. I have contacted VRBO via email with copies of the corresponding emails to the owners. The owners do not seem to be responding as I have heard nothing. In these COVID times never would I expect to go to any property to find someone else’s dirt left behind. I have never been anywhere and come across anything like I saw and smelt in that apartment. There was no clean fresh smell or any indication the apartment had been sanitised. To be fair the view is excellent. The communal areas were spotless. The worktops in the kitchen and cupboard doors had been rubbed over and the bathroom also, with what I’m unsure. All the fresh food for self catering we took had to be disposed of as the only accommodation we could find was a holiday inn express. Awaiting my refund in full.

I am sorry guests found our apartment not to there liking we have been renting since 2016 and always received great reviews also sorry for Vrbo to receive such a poor review they are a very provisional company .I feel it was triggered of by a phone call by the guest who sounded very stressed about the very weak wi.fi then it snowballed after that with complaints I did say I would refund them there money at the spar of the moment and said it might be best if they found another stay station which was wrong I should have asked them if the apartment could be recleaned .I told them I would return there money on Monday with a visit to the bank I phoned the cleaners they were shocked like us about the complaint they volunteered to go round and check for them selfs they were shocked that guests being there for a short time had used most of a toilet roll but left the toilet soiled with out flushing also cigarette butts left on kitchen worktop. cleaner said the smell from the toilet was very strong so I asked the cleaner to sort out the toilet because of the smell and leave the rest so we could see it for our selfs Told the guests we would travel down the w.end I agree there was some dust on skirting board beside bed side cabernet and the corners of the patio doors made worse by zooming in we cannot comment on the bedding because it was left in a bundle in the middle of the bed by the guests the Sofa bed had been moved to check under and left. it has metal legs and moving it causing scratching on the floor tiles we have 2 cleaners as one can lift the Sofa and one can hover underneath the tv cabinet had been also pulled out and left I asked the cleaners what they use to clean the worktop it's Called .Tersano I clean mini.Turns tap water in to a safe highly effective cleaner and sanitizer it's stronger then bleach and kills 99.999% of germs including viruses similar to the one that causes covid - 19 it removes dirt and stains it kills mould mildew and the bacteria that causes odors.Sitting here writing this with this fantastic view of the beaches and the Atlantic don't under stand guests would spend time moving furniture to find faults when only staying 5 days.But a lesson for us to up our game so no more bad reviews next season .Will

Stunning! A must!

Me and my partner booked this appartment in 2019 with the intention to stay in August 2020 to celebrate my birthday but due to covid we did not attend until August 2021. Throughout this time period, communication with the owner was fantastic with quick responses all the time. The appartment itself is stunning and modern. Even though the pictures of the apartment are nice, they do not justify how nice it actually is in reality! It’s beautiful. Great ultra HD TV with Sky, nice comfortable double bed, plenty of storage space, iron, ironing board, hoover etc, great kitchen which is fully kitted out with everything you’ll need (just don’t forget your food shopping lol) and a stunning bathroom which has lovely dim lighting next to the bath and over the shower giving an intimate and relaxing environment, especially whist chilling in the bath! Best of all.....the balcony, what can I say, it’s beautiful with stunning views!! I think I spent every night sat outside overlooking the beautiful Tolcarne beach which also provides the best sunsets you will ever see! Breathtaking! It’s also brilliant having an underground parking space to use at your leisure as Newquay can be a nightmare to find a parking space so having this is a huge bonus as it allows you to venture out and also visit other parts of Cornwall like we did without having to worry about trying to find a parking space on your return. Everything is also on your doorstep and within walking distance! Shops, bars, restaurants you name it! It’s great! The only slight negative some may find an inconvenience is the fact that the WiFi signal is not great and a bit hit and miss at times (This didn’t overly bother us though as the sea views and stunning apartment was enough to distract us from needing it). We have stayed in Newquay many times over the last 6 years and I can honestly say it’s been the best place we have ever stayed at! Will, thank you so much for giving me and my partner (Moe & Kendon) a great place to stay! Beautiful! We hope to see you again in 2022! :-)

Stunning home from home

We are regular travellers abroad and the uncertainty of this year convinced us to holiday in the UK and pay a little back into our own economy. That being said thanks to some glorious weather and the stunning views from the apartment, we were not left disappointed. The apartment itself was equipped with everything we needed to cater for ourselves and have a comfortable stay. The location, right above the beach, was perfect. Although we ventured to other beaches, Tolcarne beach was our preference as it was so close and less crowded than others. Communication with the owners was excellent throughout. Due to the covid situation, unfortunately it was difficult to get in at many restaurants, thankfully I had pre booked a couple, the pubs were restricting access and closing early too. However the glorious days on the beach made up for it. A fabulous staycation, I may even be tempted back.

Apartment 3

Well equipped studio apartment with a view, and boy what a view. The apartment is located about a 10-15mins walk from the centre of Newquay with plenty of cafes/restaurants on the way. Apartment comes with a secure car parking place, however this will be a tight fit for anyone with a large SUV type vehicle. Wi-Fi is weak to non-existent, but this should not deter anyone from booking this apartment as it has some much more to offer.

Lovely clean studio apartment with everything you need that comes with spectacular views. Last visited Newquay 30 years ago and think the high street area has deteriorated but that should not take anything away from this very nice apartment

A real gem

What can one say? It is a real gem , a wonderful location overlooking the beautiful bay. When the tide is out you can walk for miles along the soft sand. The studio is larger than the images with all the amenities you can want: a cooker, dishwasher cleverly located below the cooker and washing machine. The internet is not very strong so I'd recommend bringing a mobile wifi hotspot as we did. The parking is close by straight down Edgecumbe Ave at the Eliot hotel. Having a key access code to the side door to the garage and showers downstairs means that you go safely and leave your keys in the key locker, locked in the garage while going to the beach. I'd recommend buying a wetsuit to really enjoy the water and go body boarding or if you are an expert then surfing. We have a wonderful time and will be booking again.

Location, view and communication

I stayed here for 5 nights with my partner and we both loved our stay. The apartment facilities are all you could ask for including body boards and water equipment to use free of charge. It was really easy to contact Will if w head any questions during our stay and a speedy response. The apartment view looking over Tolcarne beach is stunning and we enjoyed a few breakfasts and dinners on the balcony because of this. Lovely stay. Thank you! Sophie and Kieran.
