Vilano Surf Shack

Located just steps from the beach in Vilano Beach town center just off A1A and a 2 minute walk to beach to shops and restaurants.

It's a funky little space. It really isn't big, but it comfortably sleeps four, and is VERY close to the beach and you can see the ocean from your window. However, you should be really close with your traveling companions because there really isn't a lot of privacy between the two sleeping areas. It has a motel-style kitchen. (Toaster Oven Microwave, Fridge and Coffee maker)

We live upstairs and have overly friendly puppies. The only time you may encounter them is when we are in the shared courtyard. As much as we like our puppies, we don't allow them or any other pups in the surf shack.

(NOTE: Pictures are out of Date. I am going to be taking new ones. The bedding is different because we just replaced it.)

Pleasure Trip

Rocky start that couldn’t find the place,but after that we had a great time it was right by the beach good location stores and restaurants in the area nice cozy place still renovating it but very peaceful place we enjoyed it

Close to beach

We enjoyed our stay at the surf shake. Mike the host was extremely helpful with any questions or needs. Typically beach home community with all things beach, sand, wind, ocean smells. Nice outside area to sit and enjoy the beauty.

Fantastic location!

This was my office and home while working in St.A for a week. The owner was super responsive and an all-around great host. Unit was clean, comfortable and in a perfect location. Any time I needed a mental break, the beach was literally two doors down the block. Would recommend.

Comfy surf shack

My adult son and I stayed here while visiting family. It was clean and charming. The full sized and twin beds had soft, comfortable mattresses, and while not much seating area, we still had enough room for our bags and for some privacy. The hosts were super friendly and gave us suggestions for local restaurants and info about the area. We were steps away from beach access, and a Publix was within walking distance. Great little place.

Great location. Very quaint!

If you’re looking for a Ritz Carlton, this is not what you would like. However, if you’d like a quaint, comfortable hideaway, it is perfect. This is the kind of place we like, small yet clean and cozy. The owner lives on the premises and is very helpful. Also, the description of the property was accurate, which is important.

Lots of Potential

You can't beat the location. It's a 2 min walk to the beach and easy access to Publix and sunset views. There is a lot of creativity in the space, and the host is very responsive. It needs to be said that the place has two very distinct odors--a mustiness and an iron smell. The water has a sulfuric quality that is very strong. The entire place also smells musty. If you can handle those smells and are looking for a deal in Vilano Beach/St. Augustine, this may be your place. There are not many places available at this price.

Best Deal on The First Coast

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The surf shack was comfy and cool in the Florida heat. You can't beat the deal on this place. Beach access is a 2-minute walk, and was never crowded our whole stay. Publix is right around the corner, and a neighborhood walk-thru provides a quick walking route to the store. The host is extremely responsive, timely, and friendly. I was still attending university when we stayed here and had to take an online exam. The host was kind enough to move the wifi router as close as he could to the VRBO so that I had a strong, reliable connection to do so. 10/10 would recommend!

Fabulous stay!

Thé Surf Shack is a super cute space with an amazing location. We were just feet away from a beach access. The beach is really nice and you can see the lighthouse! We were also very close to St Augustine and St Augustine Beach. Michael and his wife are very nice and accommodating. They are excellent with communication! We really enjoyed our stay.
