We booked this property for a school break between the winter holidays, expecting a smooth and well-organized stay. Unfortunately, it turned into a very disappointing experience for our family.We received a booking confirmation with instructions and were informed that the gate and rental access codes would be provided 24 hours prior to check-in. However, we never received those details, and the owner did not respond to our messages. Communication was limited to VRBO messaging, and there was no direct contact number available.On the evening before check-in and on the day of arrival, we still had no response from the owner. After contacting VRBO customer service, they were also unable to reach the owner. VRBO ultimately issued a refund and was very helpful throughout the process.This situation left us scrambling to find alternative accommodations on the same day, traveling with three children and fully packed bags. We had to book another rental at a higher cost and purchase additional items that were not included in the new property.This was our first experience renting directly from an owner rather than a property management company, and it was extremely disappointingâespecially given the very positive reviews this listing had received. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those expectations at all.
