Come enjoy this large 4 bedroom, 3 full bathrooms, beautiful and comfortable home in Starved Rock Country located just minutes from Starved Rock and Matthiessen State parks as well as wedding venues, Auditorium Ballroom, Westclox and The Barn at Hornbaker. Enjoy great local dining, wine tasting and boutique & antique shopping.

This newly renovated Folk Victorian home in the heart of historic La Salle is 122 years old and bursting with charm! Its pink and grey exterior, complete with whimsical yard flamingos, is located just blocks from Downtown La Salle and is ready to welcome up to 11 guests.
Enjoy the original hardwood floors, beautiful woodwork, pocket doors and tall ceilings throughout. The home has been completely updated and is a lovely blend of traditional Victorian with modern touches and a bit of Hollywood Glam thrown in for fun!
Enter by key code on the main level where you are instantly greeted by the original carved wood staircase. Down the hallway, you’ll find the butler’s pantry and kitchen with new appliances and equipped with all the essentials you'll need for your stay. To your right is the living room that has a queen size sleeper sofa, Smart TV with fast Wi-Fi and plenty of seating. Through the pocket doors, the dining room has a table that seats 10, a charming original Fleur de Lis fireplace and a vintage console record player with old records. The first floor also has a full bath with walk-in shower and a full-size washer and dryer for guest use.
The second level has 4 bedrooms with memory foam mattresses, platform beds and cotton linens. The Queen primary bedroom has an en-suite with a walk-in shower and antique touches throughout. Two of the additional bedrooms have queen beds and desk work spaces perfect for writing the next great Hollywood screenplay. The 4th bedroom has a full-size bed. An air mattress is available by request. Also on the second floor, is another full bath with the original claw-foot tub-- perfect for a nice long soak.

The back yard has a propane grill and most likely a flamingo hiding amongst the pink rose bushes.

This home is perfect for large groups, wedding guests and anyone who just wants to getaway for the weekend and take a walk in the beautiful state parks.

(Major Holiday Weekends can only be booked for a minimum of Friday-Monday.)

The home was cozy and perfect for a gathering of extended family. Bathrooms and sleeping options were wonderful! House was fully stocked with everything we possibly needed. We would love to come back! Nice welcome note and treats made it even more special.

Our time was kinda limited at the house since our purpose there was the close proximity to a local event. But the house was very well maintained, had everything we needed and many things we simply didn’t have time to get to.The only preferential recommendation would be cozier living furniture. We were exhausted and oversized cozy furniture would have been homier than fashionable. My grandsons, ages 9 and 6, really liked the play room aka butler’s pantry and apparently they know fashion design because the loves all the cool things about the property.

Well maintained; Owner was responsive when we had questions. When the coffee maker didn't work, a new one was delivered the same day! Very convienient to Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock and Matthiessen State Parks. Enjoyed the fire pit out back in the private yard.

Clean and beatifully detailed home

Our yearly retreat was so well framed by this home full of beautiful wood and tile detailing, a large dining table for all of us to sit together, 4 bedrooms and 6 beds (1 pull-out couch and 1 air mattress), and EXTREMELY CLEAN FLOORS. Like, we walked around barefoot indoors and got NO CRUMBS OR DUST on our feet until after we’d eaten a few meals. I was really impressed by how clean the place was. Elaine was quick to respond when the dishwasher stopped working, and we figured things out! Really close to a grocery store and several lovely parks

The vintage home was very nice inside but the neighborhood was run-down and there was no off-street parking. The property was way too expensive for the location.

Beautiful Setting for a Bday Getaway

Elaine’s was a great place to celebrate a milestone birthday with friends! With four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and the option of a pull out couch and air mattress, we had room for multiple adults to be comfortable. The large and well-equipped kitchen and big dining room table were perfect for collaborating on meals and playing games. We enjoyed pizza from Fire on Fifth and day hikes at Starved Rock. We recommend Elaine’s for a group celebration or holiday!

Great Space for Groups

This property was exactly as pictured and described. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well-maintained, there were plenty of linens, and additional chairs in the dining room allowed all guests to comfortably sit for meals and entertainment. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of plates and glasses for a larger group. Overall, we had an excellent stay and highly recommend this property.

Wedding Weekend

Our daughter was getting married and we knew we needed to rent a lot of quality properties for friends and family. We trust Elaine as an amazing host and only rent from her when we visit LaSalle. The house was beautiful and well appointed with the perfect barn and comfort and historical charm. Elaine has thought of everything and even left fresh flowers on the table. The house was clean, comfortable, and fit our family and friends perfectly.

The house was well maintained. Communication with Elaine was excellent. Beds were comfortable. Elaine’s had nice touches such as having some bottled water and chocolates out. That was sweet. Nice book with things to do, food options etc. Only downside was that neighborhood was not as well maintained as her house.

Great house by Starved Rock

House was clean and stocked with all the dishes, supplies, towels we needed. A short drive to Starved Rock for hiking and a nice sized back yard for the kids to play. Would definitely stay again.

Great Stay!

We had four families staying with our kids and this was a great stay! I wish the backyard was enclosed for our littles, but it was a great space, with games and space for everyone. Good access to Starved Rock!

Amazing home near Starved Rock and Matthiessen!

Eleven of us (8 adults and 3 young children) stayed at Elaine’s home for a weekend or fun, laughter and hiking. The house was extremely clean and the beds were super cozy. The backyard was a perfect size to enjoy privacy, the fire pit and a game of catch. Elaine’s recommendation binder was so helpful and informative on the local restaurants, hiking and shopping. I would definitely recommend this vrbo to anyone staying in the area. My friends and I are already planning our next trip to Elaine’s home.

Wonderful stay

We came here to stay for the weekend for hiking and the starved rock 1/2 marathon. The house is very clean and charming. The beds are very comfortable. Elaine is a wonderful host; great communication and ideas for places to go in the area. Nice back outdoor space.
