What a sweet spot on the lake! The communication with the owners was fluid and appropriate. It is a great location to branch out and visit surrounding areas. We brought our dog Dora with us and she enjoyed the lake and was comfortable in the cabin and relished the time in the screened porch. Great dog park and multiple trails close by! A huge bonus was the great weather and so glad we felt so comfortable here!Highly recommend this property!

Everything was perfect!! My husband had training for work so I relaxed with the babies then had wonderful afternoons on dock & evenings on screened in porch!!! Will definitely be back!!

Good for the soul

I absolutely love this place! Going through a divorce and needed a quiet place to relax. This place exceeded my expectations by far! Clean, cozy, and right on the lake! Just what the Dr ordered! I will definitely be going back!!

Hosts were wonderful! Very friendly and quick to respond to questions and concerns. Great view of the lake. Very quiet and peaceful. Great place if you have trouble with steps. The upstairs studio has all you need. One small step into the cottage. Nice carport for vehicle too.

Loved the property The property managers were so nice. The check in and check out was super simple. The screened in porch was fantastic. I was very happy finding that it was pet friendly, as I had two dogs. There was plenty enough space for us. Wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Spot on

Rachel and David are great Hosts! We enjoyed using the cabins Kyack out on the lake. What a view this place has just beautiful! We love traveling with our pets and they felt right at home as well. We would love to come back maybe in the summer next time to enjoy swimming in the lake.

The photos and number of beds listed indicated that this was more than a single-room stay with a separate single-room stay below it.While the upstairs was clean and accommodating, the downstairs was full of spiders, worms, and large centipedes.The owners live on a property uphill from the stay, so it feels like you’re being watched at all times.

Hi Stephen, I'm so sorry that you had a negative experience. I will review the listing information to ensure it describes the listing accurately. I will also contact the cleaners about the lower bedroom. Next time please let hosts know as soon as there is an issue so it can be addressed immediately. As far as us living up the hill, that is stated clearly in the listing information, however I can assure you we are too busy with our own lives to be preoccupied with what is happening at the guesthouse. We pride ourselves on respecting guest privacy as you can see in many prior reviews.

Relaxing Getaway

Needed a quiet place to unwind for a couple of days. This place checked ALL of the boxes...quiet cove, beautiful view and a porch with a swing! While we were there for a quiet time, I think a family would find it enjoyable as well. Oh and didn't want to forget how clean the house was. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with anything you might need to prepare a quiet gourmet meal or a big family feast! We have stayed at quite a few VRBO properties and this one ranked right up at the top!

Perfect Get a Way

Planned for my Birthday and it was amazing! Very quiet and serial. Beautiful view of the lake. The cabin itself was very clean but the decks could have been a bit cleaner, full of spider nests on the windows and chairs. All in all still worthy of a definite 5 star. Was very enjoyable!

Cozy Cabin on Lake Hickory Meets All My Needs

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The hosts are clever and thoughtful. Everything I needed and more was provided by Rachel and David. The communication was clear and concise. The living space was immaculate. It is one of the cleanest places that I ever stayed. Great location on the lake. The Crossroads Grill has an amazing hamburger and fries at a bargain price. This place is A+++. It was peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for everything. Dale

My husband and I stayed here with our dog for our 2 year anniversary. It was very cute and accommodating. Exactly what we needed. Incredibly pet friendly. Large screened in porch. The lake is very calm and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming with our dog. My husband and I spent a lot of time at a lake when we were younger, so we are familiar with the bugs that surround lake life. If you are less familiar, I would note that there are what I call “lake spiders”. Very prominent at night, almost non existent during the day. That being said, we never had any issues with any insects inside and this did not affect our stay at all. Just a part of being on a lake!
