Built in 1893, this 3 bed, 2 bath home has been meticulously renovated to preserve & marry vintage charm w/ modern day amenities such as designer bathrooms, upgraded kitchen, in unit laundry & a contemporary feel throughout. Stocked w/ creature comforts to make this a perfect home away from home, suitable for dining in & convenient enough to explore what Hyde Park and Woodlawn has to offer! This home is equipped with 1 King Size Bed, 1 Queen Sized Bed, and a futon along with 3 portable Air Conditioning units to ensure comfort throughout the space. Make yourself at home!

Enjoyed our stay at the property. Property as described. Host very responsive and was willing to assist with having a package delivered directly to property. Surrounding area a bit questionable, Woodlawn versus Hyde Park. Our group of 3 females did not feel comfortable walking to public transportation options. Happy to have had off street parking option for extra security.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed my place. My location is East Woodlawn neighboring Hyde Park. My place is on a pretty mature and diverse block with a University emergency tower toward the north end of it. It's located within 1 mile of U Chicago's Hyde Park Campus and just near the Obama Presidential Center.

I liked how it was located near the places that we visited. The inside was fairly clean for the most part. The one fault was, the tenants upstairs were smokers so that came thru the vent of one of the rooms. Also they did a lot of walking and coversating late at night and that was guite annoying. Other than that, we enjoyed the amenities and appreciated accommodating us.

Thanks so much for the feedback! With this unit being the first floor of a multi-family building, I cannot guarantee a completely noise free environment. Community Rules and Courtesies though do include smoking only outdoors and respecting quiet hours from 10p to 8am. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay otherwise!

My cleaners are very thorough and follow quality checks prior to job completion. In the event that any guest checks in and have issues that they communicate to me, I rectify immediately and for the record, this guest is the first one to have this complaint. The 3rd bedroom is as photographed and mentions a futon that lets out to twin size. Please be sure to check the listing as it's always my goal to deliver a 5 star experience and an accurate depiction of whats available. I encourage all guests to reach out if they need anything during their stay and I welcome feedback and the opportunity to make your stay a comfortable one. I do wish this guest gave me the opportunity during their stay to rectify any issues and I actually like to see photos because it's hard to believe the place was far from clean and a guest makes no mention of it when communicating to the host. The cleaners actually did a deep clean following a mid term stay the day before this guest's arrival.

Good, could be better

Large apartment in a classic house that can easily sleep 4 (in one king and one queen bed). Not so sure about the futon, but we didn't need it. Neighborhood is convenient to Univ of Chicago and transit. Things that could improve this home: a table and some chairs in the large, empty kitchen; a coffee-maker (for which there would be space if there were a table!); A/C in the second bedroom (we were there during a heat wave, and the fan helped, but didn't feel like enough, especially since A/C was in the description); and (at least for my taste) a warmer decor -- others may like a black/white color scheme with little on the walls, but it seemed spartan to me. Overall, a good place that could be even better.
