OC Family Vacation

We had a great time at OC! This place was perfect for our family. It was clean, offers parking, close to everything and had an indoor pool. We would definitely return to Makai.

Mini get away

Booked this for myself and three daughters. The condo was very clean. Check in and out process was easy and the staff was very friendly. The only complaint I have is in the hall bathroom. The drain would not stay open.

Air conditioner broken

The condo itself was fine, but the air conditioning was broken. We arrived early, and upon entering the condo it was very hot and stuffy. We turned on the AC, but after 2 hours it was not cooled down. We told the property manager, who contacted the owners. The owners said that the unit was put in a year and a half ago and that we needed to wait for the unit to cool down. It did not cool down and the thermostat read 80 degrees all night. There was also one bedroom with no fan. The next day, they called a repairman, but they could not fix it. They ended up putting in a standing AC unit and funneling the output from the unit outside through the sliding glass door. This required them to tape up the door to seal it up. The standing AC unit made it more tolerable, but it was still not comfortable. The AC repairman said there was no way this unit was only a year and a half old.

Great time

The property was exactly as advertised (and I mean that in a good way). The Makai is a great property for a family to stay in because you're close to the beach, there's a rec room, and it has a pool. I'm always weary about staying at rental properties because of cleanliness issues in the past, however the cleanliness of this property was 10/10. Zero complaints about the condo and I would definitely come back again. We went at the very end of summer season, so the building was very quiet and not very crowded, which was a plus. The beds were comfortable enough, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were completely spotless. If I had to find one negative, it's not even about the condo, it's that the pool's heater must've been turned off (or maybe it isn't a heated pool?) the 1 day that we decided to go there. The water was FRIGID, but it didn't bother my kids any. Especially since we had the whole pool to ourselves. The check-in and check-out process was extremely easy. Someone was waiting for us when we checked in and it was in and out. Check out was even easier because all we had to do was slide a folder under the door to the office.

First time in that property loved it

I needed an extra parking pass due to a business emergency at home and a family member could not travel with us so we had an extra car. The Wan at the desk was glad to accommodate out needs.

Great for a weekend getaway

Went for a long weekend with some girlfriends and it was the perfect spot. 5 of us fit comfortably. The only downside was the construction going on outside the balcony but you still had a limited view of the bay. Facilities were very nice and clean. Definitely recommend!

Nice place, terrible residents

While the room was nice, the residents who lived at the condo made it feel like an assisted living place. They complained about any type of noise. We were charged a $50 fee for opening the door in the pool, where it was hot and very hard to breathe, and a little dirt from a plant spilled on the floor. There were no signs up saying you couldn't open the door until the day after they contacted us about the ridiculous $50 charge. I will definitely not stay there ever again.

Short stay, for some fun in the sun

Everything was as listed in the posting. I had a few questions beforehand and they did answer quickly. Property manager Kathy was super nice. Overall nice stay. There was some construction on the same side would have skipped that part.

The only problem we had there were some construction in our second day .they were installing some stuff right under our window at 8:00 .We didn't get notified for that.Overall we enjoyed our stay

Weekend Stay

Because of COVID we wanted to avoid a crowded hotel, and this condo was perfect. Clean, modern, and a good location. Reservations were easy as was access to the unit. Would definitely consider renting here again.

Convenient, clean and comfortable

I live the floor plan of this condo. The kids are on the other side and I have a balcony to view a marsh. I got great shots of marsh bids with my camera. The location is stellar, as we walked to get food and Rita's each night. The beach is a quick walk and it was not crowded at all. The condo was clean, we slept comfortably and enjoyed it very much. The only negatives would be construction ( no control over that) and a slow draining bathtub. I would stay here again.

Adorable condo!

Super clean, beautiful place. Everything was as listed and in great shape. We would definitely stay here again. Only complaints - outdoor seating is very uncomfortable and doesn’t allow you to really enjoy the balcony. Also not really a bay view - more of a parking lot, with the bay off to the right - not a huge deal but we had envisioned sitting on the balcony and being able to watch the water. Paper supplies (toilet paper and paper towels) would have been nice, as we had to run out very late to get them. Overall an excellent place - great having two full baths but 7 people would have been tight.

Beautiful place, but

I don’t think it would comfortably sleep 7. We had a few in our group who weren’t able to make it for the weekend, so we were fine. If all 7 of us had been there it would have been tight. But overall the place was beautiful & and clean.

Weekend Getaway

Makai was the perfect location for us! We fit comfortably with seven people. All of us agreed we’d love to come back and stay at the Makai again !
